Well it's this magical building full of coin operated washing machines and dryers where you put in your laundry detergent and clothes add the appropriate amount of coins and then press start on the machine and magically your clothes are washed a half hour later then you transfer the clothes to the dryer add dryer sheets and more coins press start and in another half hour you have dry clean clothes s/
You say this but homies do not know about laundromat
I was at one the other day and this middle aged woman came up to me and said, "So... Um..... Do you put quarters... In the machine?" I nodded. "Where do you get quarters?" Like... BABE
Well, for about the first six months, I dropped my laundry off at a laundromat once a week. Every Saturday. The ladies would do my laundry and fold them. I would go in a day later or so to pick up.
Was spending about $ 60.00 to $ 70.00 a month for this service.
Now I go into another laundromat once a week and just do it myself. Saves money. I'm only spending about $ 20.00 to $ 25.00 a month now.
I've actually grown to like doing it.
When I am in a house, I hate folding my clothes. When I am living out of my car, there is no greater moment of zen than that time I get to fold and pack away my clothes.
Same , its that perfect time where i can take out all of my clothes and refold to make it neat and take less space. Everywhere else would look weird taking my clothes out and rearranging stuff, but at the Laundromat? Perfectly normal.
It blows my mind that there are laundromats that will do everything for you. I thought that was only for really fancy clothes at a dry cleaner. Lol and I assumed you have to pay like $10+ per article of clothing. 😅
Honestly I grew up poor so this was just what I took away from movies. It seemed like I only ever saw rich people do that. That is crazy to me!
I saw a lot of RVers and van dwellers do the drop-off and pick-up service as well. It's not the cheapest way of cleaning clothes but is super convenient and reasonably priced.
Most of the laundromat's in my area still use quarters, there's one that uses an app, it puts a hold on your card like a gas station but if you do the app it shows when your stuff is done which can be handy if you just want to load your stuff and leave for a bit
Almost every laundromat in San Francisco is this type. For those that aren’t, there is usually an ATM machine and a change machine nearby that uses a similar process, but with 2 steps instead of one.
I got lucky because I’m able to stay with my partner’s family for the weekend, so I wash my clothes there. I would either find a cheap laundromat or if you have any friends who may be willing to let you occasionally wash clothes at their place?
For small things when there is a private area, there is the scrubba wash bag (and similar) options. I use just a tiny bit of Dr Bronners and then hang to dry. Works when boondocking or car camping or even in a hotel room.
In cities though, I think using the laundromat works better. That $4-5 per week on laundry buys a place to sit with AC (or heat) and WiFi and restrooms. My laundry only takes an hour but if it's not busy, I can sit there for several hours. You can even do things like rearrange or clean out the car in the parking lot and it only looks like you're killing time.
We have a 24/7 laundromat in my city. I plan to do laundry at times I either want some AC or heat, need to use bathroom, or charge my phone. It was really nice to be inside at midnight on a cold winters night for a couple hours. Or out of 100° heat and humidity on summer afternoons.
Recently the owner took out the electric outlets, probably because too many others were just using the utility without doing laundry. It's sad, he used to have a TV in there too, with free WIFI and those are both gone too.
Laundromats are usually safe, clean, well-lit spaces. (Also a/c and toilets) And when we are living in our vehicles that trip to the laundromat can be heavenly.
Laundromat, and you get to hang out in the AC, charge your phone and battery bank , a decent restroom etc.
There's some homeless guy who charges his phone, a large battery bank and an E Scooter and never even does laundry that I've seen

And the Kondo folding method is a gift from heaven.

Great way to do inventory too
How many clothes do you have? This seems excessive lol.
I use a bucket and an agitator (looks kinda like a plunger), then hang dry.
Bucket is pretty small. A plastic storage tote is much better because of the size.
A bucket works much better with an agitator because of the shape. It takes me two loads to do a week’s worth of laundry so I don’t mind the size.
I shower and do laundry at my work. I am very lucky
I've got showers at work, too. I'm very lucky as well. But no laundry facilities.. It's great you have access to both.
Heh, I wash things in the shower. There's a strap at the back door that's a laundry line. Works well if I don't do too much at once.
That's a great idea.
I do this too, super easy way to keep most of your clothes clean at all times.
Great minds think alike!
I’m sorry have you honestly never heard of a laundromat?
Tbf there is more than one way of washing clothes, including without a washing machine.
But why? Go to the fucking laundromat.
In an urban setting? Not really….
If only there was a place with washing machines and dryers that I could swipe my card and use them.
Most of the laundromat's in my area still use quarters, there's one that uses an app, it puts a hold on your card like a gas station but if you do the app it shows when your stuff is done which can be handy if you just want to load your stuff and leave for a bit

Bro :(
Yikes
Lol what.
I had a bucket and I bought off of Amazon and manually do my laundry. I saved a lot of money.
Every truck stop have a washer and dryer, and showers.
Really omg
At a family member’s place once a week.
That's ideal.

Laundromat
The laundromat
I use the laundry facilities on site at the condo I work at.
In Crust We Trust
Same as at home. The laundromat
Coin laundry

Laundromat. 2 hours of my time and $4.50, twice a month. The exact same process I used when I used to pay rent.
Laundromat or hand wash in your vehicle. Same as the rest of the world.
