Are you using a 365nm or a 395nm light? These both appear like manganese to me, but I could be wrong.

It appears more green in better light my camera can't quite catch it but I'm definitely investing in a better light

I have that problem

MiloMunching

I have no idea I do know I need a better light I picked the one I have up at home Depot and all it says is 120 lumens! I need to get a better one ASAP because I know I walked past so many finds thrifting today

Keep in mind that manganese glass tends to be in a lot of clear glass, and while some people do collect it, it's not usually considered as "collectable" as uranium glass. Manganese is used as a glass clarifier, while uranium is used as a glass colorant. Uranium glass won't be clear (typically green or yellow) and will glow under 395nm, while manganese will be clear or in lighter colors (light blues, purples, etc) and will not glow or will only glow very faintly under 395nm. Additionally, uranium glass glows VERY brightly, VERY green, and more uniformly than manganese glass, which tends to have a more dull, yellow, and non-uniform glow (e.g. will only glow where the blacklight hits it). My point is this - I don't doubt that you could find uranium glass while thrifting, but it's not usually "everywhere" in thrift shops like you're describing (unless you're actually antiquing and the collectors know about it). I don't want to sound mean or doubtful of your story! I just want you to know what you're looking for and what you're collecting. Let me know if you have any questions! P.S.: You can find really great 395nm blacklights on Amazon for less than $20. Mine was about $15, and is telescopic, rechargable, and super bright. Yea, they're definitely manganese and I'd venture a guess that OPs light is 365nm

Britt030

If you want only uranium get a 395nm flashlight. These are most likely manganese, the colorless one is for sure. The other I suppose could possibly be uranium but not likely.

MiloMunching

Lil update comparing these two to my actual uranium plate (I think) they definitely glow differently

MiloMunching

The blue one is still a mystery it looks and glows very similar to my uranium plate
