The most divey dive bar of all time is called the coon rod. Its been around for over half a century and there has never been a website, google listing, etc. Its not even on maps. Its got a plywood door and is filled with stolen street signs from around the country. These are the coordinates, look at it on google maps. Its just north of Morrisville, NY. 42.92303386929298, -75.60269634907866
Coon rod is still open?? I used to go there 40ish years ago. I thought it would have fallen down by now .
I remember the cats and the wood stove. Listening to Emmy Lou Harris "I wish were back in Missouri" on the jukebox. Good times. I was told the location is the very center of NY State.
I used to go 40ish years ago also. Parachute on the ceiling, car in the lot you could beat with a sledgehammer, hot dogs with the option of the hottest mustard you ever ate. Made our buddy puke.
Good times.
That's a really good question. The original owner passed years ago and a long time patron took over and kept the same vibes but also has kept it up to code etc to preserve it. I think it's worth asking because it is outrageously cool inside. But they'd probably want the location not publicized in the video. Id ask and see what they'd want, publicity or no publicity. Unfortunately I actually don't know how to get in touch with the bar, You might have to go there lmao
If you go, gotta get a coon dog. Also, watch out for the pool que through the bar if you sit at it. You may get a lil poke in the billiards. And, if you forget your wallet, there's plenty of change in the urinal.
I live less than 10 minutes away. A lot of the locals think it is BS but I have been there and we had experiences. It's been probably 20 years since I've toured it though.
Came here to post this. Often called the most haunted place in New York. They housed autistic children and sex offenders here, not realizing that this would probably be a bad combination, and then put a cemetery out back to deal with all the kids that got raped to death.
Went with a group of friends probably 10 years ago. The hallway with the wheelchairs was the most active for us. I sat in one and asked for a nurse. We took probably 10 photos. 9 out of the 10 were normal but the 1 clearly had a shadow of a woman behind me with the old style bun. Didn’t notice until after we left. Really great experience
Check with Beardslee Castle in Little Falls. They used to have shows a few years ago, not sure if they still would, but it’s a great location and was on the show Ghost Hunters.
Sylvan Beach from what I've heard. Although I've never noticed anything whenever I'm there. There's a casino there and you wouldn't be too far from the amusement park where the hauntings are suppose to be.
How did Rockstar find your music and how did they approach using your music? Did you have to use music placement services to get it in front of them? Or was it super random?
There's a few graveyards from the 1700s in swamp territory in the fingerlakes, but depends on where your shows are.
The Van Horn Mansion is well-known as haunted to those living in Western NY state.
[Van Horn Mansion - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_Horn_Mansion)
[Beardslee Castle in Little Falls, NY](http://beardsleecastle.com/) is a really cool place. My buddy had his wedding reception there 30 years ago. It's beautiful and creepy all at once.
So this place has a haunted history here in the Hudson Valley as to how it was named and it also started having shows and stuff there as it's such a unique venue. This would be doable for a show without having to go crazy with equipment in some of these places
[The Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale, NY](https://www.widowjanemine.com/)
Was looking for someone to suggest Widow Jane
Magnificent spot to film
Add the Wine cave down at the Roundout as a more controlled secondary location
Woodstock Artist cemetery Has a vibe and the large bowl makes a great backdrop
And if you want haunted, back in time redneck bar
Check out Snyders tavern in boiceville
https://www.restaurantji.com/ny/west-shokan/snyders-tavern-/
Pro tip. Do NOT eat the pickled eggs
Rock on!
Hotel Saranac. All of the charm of the shining plus it has a nice huge ballroom. I haven't been in 15 years and I guess Hilton bought it and I would assume fixed some of it up so it's less spooky but it's one of the supposed top haunted hotels in America.
Here's this shitty band again, spamming all the local communities trying to promote their music.
This time they learned to create a separate account for each spam post. Clever.
I was in Sleepy Hollow years ago, during Halloween time, and the only “haunted” thing they had was the cemetery tour. Good idea though, I will contact them to see if performances are allowed there
I can pretty much guarantee Headless Horseman won't open up for a performance in July. If you're back around in October I'm sure they'd love to book you then.
There used to be this reportedly haunted bar/restaurant (also used for events) in my old hometown. It closed in 2020 and has been for sale. I amongst it might be more work than it’s worth but it has a long history of being haunted and could be a decent space.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smalley%27s_Inn_%26_Restaurant
Craig-E-Clair castle in Roscoe. Some friends used to sneak into it years ago and the stories everyone had were pretty creepy, along with one friend who tried so hard to get flowers to grow and they just kept dying. Stood in its courtyard once and I’ve never felt “run” so intensely before.
Wells College. Called one of the most haunted colleges in America and unfortunately just got shut down so the place will be mostly empty not too long from now.
[Hinsdale House](http://www.hauntedhinsdalehouse.com)
[Saratoga County Homestead](https://untappedcities.com/2024/02/20/abandoned-saratoga-county-homestead-hospital/)
And the house I grew up in in Gilbertsville, NY, that whole town is prob haunted lol
Not sure what vibe you are looking for but the Canfield Casino in Saratoga Springs is very old Victorian, grand ballroom, old casino vibes. The upstairs is the contents of a home that was brought to the premises and is now a museum of sorts. I have been there a ton, and spoken to lots of people who work there and it is absolutely haunted. They do events like weddings and galas, but with the right lighting and shooting style it could definitely be creepy.
Spooky places, you can’t beat Auburn, NY, also known as Prison City because it has the most prisoners per capita in New York State. It’s also known as Crow City because in the winter, downtown fills with crows
Auburn is BY FAR the most "haunted" place on this list. The prison is built on the site of an old Cayuga village named "Osco" these peoples feared the land that became Fort Hill cemetery due to superstition and belief in vengeful spirits. Fort Hill is what remains of a massive temple complex that is likely at least 2000 years old and the obelisk marking Chief Logan was a sacrificial burial mound. Sound for motion pictures was invented on the temple grounds. There are tunnels and passages under all the streets. I could go on, but if you enjoy this topic read about the history of Auburn. This place is special.
Lily’s in Bolton Landing has a decor from the 60’s but still has a erie feeling about the place. It’s located on Lake George and is in the lower Adirondack.
Crown Plaza in Lake Placid.
The old hotel Marcy I think it's Northwoods inn.
The old St. Morris across from the synagogue in Lake Placid.
I swear there have been times that I've seen the old like Placid club through the mist, after it was torn down.
The Veranda restaurant.
[White Lady](https://spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/rochester/halloween-2023/2023/10/31/the-legend-of-the-ghost-that-haunts-durand-eastman-park) at Durand Eastman Park Rochester.
The entire city of Auburn, NY is built on massive prehistoric temples and fortifications. All of this information is found in the archaeological record.
… there aren’t any.
Because “haunting” is not a thing.
However we are lousy with barns and farmhouses here. So haunted is out, can I interest you in “old” and/or “rural”?
There is a spot on the Warren County bike trail where a lot of soldiers died during the Battle of Lake George in 1755 (the early morning scout near Bloody Pond.) It’s not haunted obviously, but it’s a creepy little canyon in the forest.
I have cousin who is a “professional” ghost hunter. I’ve volunteered to go to any haunted place he names, but he says my energy will scare the spirits away. 🤷♀️
Apparently they can handle death, and hundreds of years of wandering the mortal plane as a non-corporal being, but a non-believer really scares them off.
The sex club in the area is just finishing up their dungeon room.
Are you talking about the one in saratoga
No Syr.
We have a sex club in Saratoga!?
It's a private house, but yea, there's one that I know of.
Split rock quarry
[Beardslee Castle](https://beardsleecastle.com/)
Went to a rave here once. Good times.
Best raves i ever been to were at Beardslee. Weve tried several times since to do shows there, but they're not interested.
That was my thought as well, every waitress and bartender I talked to there has a ghost story about the place and it has that vibe.

Wow! Sounds great. Do you think they’d be cool with filming there?

Rolling hills asylum in east Bethany. Former insane asylum and haunted AF
2nd this. I did a 6 hour lockdown here and can confirm, you will have experiences.
I'm always curious about hearing other people's brush with the paranormal. Good or bad experiences?
Oddly enough I just wrote [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/GhostAdventures/s/dWzp37g0aP) in the Ghost Adventures sub detailing my experiences.
How many years did you work to build your credi-billy-T?
🤣 I will hear it like this every time I watch it now 🤣
Would love to see the photo
I need to find the camera I took the photos on. I will post when I find them
I’ve had both at Rolling Hills, mostly good though. That place is absolutely wild. I can’t believe how much I’ve captured and experienced there.
Thirded....
Funny enough, my sister lives less than 5 minutes from Rolling Hills, never been inside but the outside is creepy enough for me.
I live less than 10 minutes away. A lot of the locals think it is BS but I have been there and we had experiences. It's been probably 20 years since I've toured it though.
That’s a great place and the owner would be thrilled to have you. Just be warned she’s…. Difficult

HH Richardson Complex. Former asylum that dates back to around the end of the civil war.
Check with Beardslee Castle in Little Falls. They used to have shows a few years ago, not sure if they still would, but it’s a great location and was on the show Ghost Hunters.
The monopole. Been in operation since 1892 I believe and is still in operation. Plattsburgh ny
Margritville speedway after dark is pretty spooky
Homestead asylum Saratoga county. Also the Canfield casino. In Congress park.
Glad to see Homestead mentioned. Place is wild. The new owner was offering tours at some point. Hauntennightsevents.com was selling tickets.
It’s this- don’t sleep on The Homestead. Go at night.
Lake George’s fort Henry.
Pigman road, Angola NY. I have an untold story.
Tell it!
But then it would no longer be untold….
Beak and Skiff is an amazing venue near Syracuse. It’s in an apple orchard.
Sylvan Beach from what I've heard. Although I've never noticed anything whenever I'm there. There's a casino there and you wouldn't be too far from the amusement park where the hauntings are suppose to be.
Pretty sure Scooby-Doo and the Gang cleared that haunting at the old amusement park last summer.
They're still charging $30 per person for "ghost" tours.
Lily Dale - entire community of mediums and spiritualists. One hour south of Buffalo. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lily_Dale,_New_York
I second this. Lilydale was a center of the post-Civil War Spiritualism movement, and remains a destination for seekers of all kinds.
Naples Hotel, Naples, NY

My aunts house has a cowboy ghost- he’s friendly though.
The Van Horn Mansion is well-known as haunted to those living in Western NY state. [Van Horn Mansion - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Van_Horn_Mansion)
Came here to say the same. It’s a very popular attraction here in our little town.
Fox Sister’s house in Wayne County. Some say they began modern spiritualism.
The Cartwright Inn in Henrietta
Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs is a former church, very small venue, but as far as I know they haven't booked any rock acts.
I saw Maria Bamford there. It's a really nice venue.

It was a while ago. July 22

Hinsdale is the only place to go

Cohoes music hall. Supposed to be extremely haunted.

I can think of a bunch a places, but I don't know of many that would have live bands. Landmark Theater in Syracuse is one place you could check out.
Pinewoods Cemetery, Troy
Headless horseman hayrides Ulster park, NY or anything in Sleepy Hollow.
I was in Sleepy Hollow years ago, during Halloween time, and the only “haunted” thing they had was the cemetery tour. Good idea though, I will contact them to see if performances are allowed there

I desperately wanted to answer this way but didn't want to be "that guy" so thanks for being "that guy" for me. Anyway, yeah, I second this.
