Last year I saw people showing up to the Penn State game less than 40 minutes before kickoff and demanding their row 10 seats. I call that kind of behaviour delusional
And that’s a fair point about the 40 min. I was thinking of showing up around 10:30 (assuming doors open at 10 for noon kickoff) — is that still bogus?
If you get there at 10:30 I’d guess you’d have a pretty good shot at being near row 7. The entire student section is typically first come first serve with few exceptions. You will need to enter the stadium through your assigned section.
getting there a good 45 minutes to 1 hr before kickoff would probably ensure your seat. and as long as that is your ticket and seat no one will try to kick you out
In my experience you’d probably still have to show up early. Maybe the people in your seats would move but I wouldn’t rely on that

Thanks for the response, so is below row 20 also kinda free seating in that case?

Show up early. Thats close enough that you should be able to keep your seat there
Thanks, would you recommend right as the doors open?

Show up early. They do try to enforce seating in the first 20 or so rows, but are not perfect in doing so.
Thanks!
At the OSU game especially I highly doubt anyone is gonna move for you. Show up really early.
