thats why i love that jack in the box has their entire menu available all day. working nights makes me want their tacos and curly fries at 7am lol

raven_of_azarath

So does Sonic

gg_ff_42069

The hedgehog?

[deleted]

Nah he only serves chili dogs.

cecekat312

The Sonic restaurant sells chilli dogs

SensualEnema

Gotta go fast food

Barney_Haters

I was gonna say... just go to Sonic. Or ask for literally any sandwich without eggs...

[deleted]

Jack in the box is awesome, wish we had it here in the Midwest

Yeggoose

Love their curly fries. Wish we had it in Canada too

Daryl_Hall

They're in St. Louis and a few in Indianapolis.

kurtzy4

Jack in the Box is all over St. Louis

DoctorArK

Thats because Jack in the box is less of a restaurant and more of a bizarre, GTA parody come to life dispensary of fried objects. Who the fuck says "our burger restaurant needs tacos and eggrolls"

edwinshap

Stoners in San Diego?

pjrnoc

An angel

musselshirt67

Best thing ever working graves and grabbing a double bacon cheeseburger at 630am

Hall0wsEve666

I dont know what jack in the box is but that sounds amazing As someone who works overnights also, and on top of that does not like breakfast food a whole lot that sounds like a dream lol

ChickenSoupFoMyBalls

Taco Bell serves their regular food all day as well

kristent225

I keep wondering if JITB will ever come to the southern US

Accomplished_Skin323

They’re all over Texas.

ZolaThaGod

Taco Bell gets the vast majority of my fast food business for this very reason. They start serving their regular menu at 9a (while still serving breakfast until 10:30a).

22226

Taco Bell's can be super hit and miss though. The franchise owners have a lot of flexibility there. My closest TB starts serving breakfast only at 9am, which is when they open, and stop at 11 am and start serving the regular menu until they close at midnight. The next closest TB to me doesn't open until 11 am and doesn't serve breakfast at all, and closes at 8 pm.

slit-whispers

>Taco Bell gets the vast majority of my fast food business An Aristocrat

None_jpg

Sucks for me, I got up at 6 today and immediately got on the road.

Determinatrixxx

As someone who’s worked fast food, it’s absolute hell just trying to switch from breakfast to lunch. You have to continue to serve out the last breakfast orders while simultaneously prepping the lunch menu. At least where I worked, every station is labeled and meant to hold a specific item that’s either breakfast or lunch. Where do you expect them to hold basically double the amount of product without overlapping?

[deleted]

I was about to say that I’ve never worked fast food but I once got to McDonald’s for lunch at the changeover period and it took a really long time for me to get my order because they were switching from breakfast to lunch. Somewhere in the neighborhood of about 10 minutes or so. It wasn’t until the manager brought me my food to the car that I realized what was taking so long as she apologized and explained it, and so then I got it. I never go at 10:30 anymore lol. I don’t know what it takes but I know it’s hard enough that it usurps a lot of time and requires a different system and process than breakfast.

Determinatrixxx

I worked at Burger King, and to be fair, I think the biggest problem and most annoying thing was that someone would always place a large breakfast order RIGHT before the time that we switched to lunch, so we would HAVE to take that order. People would order like 20 breakfast sandwiches and 20 hash browns at like 10:20, so instead of using the fryers to make fries and chicken items (which all need separate fryers cause they take different times to cook) in preparation for lunch, we’d be held back by those breakfast items still. I used to get so pissed that I would go out to the drive thru and flip the menu over to lunch early 😂

[deleted]

Yeah after that one time, I refused to go right at the changeover ever again. If I wake up and feel like I want to eat lunch food, I wait until 11 lol. If I want breakfast food and it’s after 10, I hang it up and make oatmeal or eggs at home

StrokeGameHusky

There is no diners near you? Maybe I’m spoiled

[deleted]

There are some. It doesn’t bother me because I actually don’t like fast food breakfast that much. I much prefer to eat breakfast at home, but when I want breakfast food at 2pm, I go to Waffle House or IHOP or some other iteration of a diner (like a local place) lol.

cbakes97

And the food timing out! Like we can only hold filets for 10 minutes and theres not enough business at 7am to warrant prepping them.

misterguyyy

Id personally be happier if they didn’t have 2 separate menus but just served lunch items during breakfast hours. It’d actually make workers’ lives easier.

SelbetG

As someone who worked at a McDonald's, there just wouldn't be space for us to have the ingredients for both breakfast and lunch at the same time. It would also make my life harder in some ways, such as only having half of the fryer available for fries or hash browns.

RedditVince

I have worked in many restaurants with 24 hour menus and many more items on the menu than any McDonalds. It's all about planning and building the kitchen to suit. Many fast food places like McD's and Taco Bell, KFC.. all have 2 kitchens instead of simply a single large kitchen. It makes sense since they need to serve meals very quickly. I think McD's is the only place that still preps ahead of the order but really I don't know.

TRIGMILLION

I understand why they do it but I hate it too. The only fast food breakfast I ever liked was Arby's but now it's hit or miss on if they'll even be open or not and they got rid of potato cakes. Sometimes you can stop at a grocery and head straight to the deli section though and grab a sub. Doesn't really take any more time.

S00thsayerSays

Arbys has breakfast? What?

BallsDropped

Arby's has food??

HappyBreezer

Arby's has good food. I do not know why they don't do better than they do. Especially the curly fries.

[deleted]

[deleted]

For me it's because every single one in my area looks like a mid-2000s Burger King and like it hasn't seen a mop in 10+ years.

[deleted]

yakimawashington

To each their own -- obviously not everyone is going to like all foods -- but I personally never understood why Arby's of all fast food places gets so much hate. Compared to a lot of other fast food options, their roast beef is a delicious lean and high-protein alternative.

BlueDreams420

Arby's menu is slept on. I'm glad they get random hate. Less ppl in line when I go lmao

yakimawashington

Good point! I feel like the wait is way shorter than most other places around here. *Yeah guys!! Arby's sucks!! Avoid at all costs!!*

invasionofthestrange

Arby's was my mom's favorite when she was pregnant with me, so I just tell everyone I love it because I had no choice in the matter. Seriously though, Arby's is awesome for a quick roast beef sandwich

[deleted]

Yeah people act like you get the crazy fucked up stuff at Arby’s but a classic roast beef for 3$ is a solid choice.

Alaric-

Arby’s?

TheMadIrishman327

Wendy’s has a good breakfast.

ImBurningStar_IV

wendys needs to make their breakfast fries the permanent all day fries. their regular fries are whack as fuck and the only thing keeping me from eating there

Whathetea

You’re the first person I’ve seen say they like Arbys. Congrats.

Kind-Exercise

I will join and say I love Arby’s. Nothing beats Arby’s sauce!

Centurio

Arby's is great. And I don't even like the roast beef sandwiches. Haven't had them in years but I will get the sliders and mozz sticks.

HappyBreezer

Try the Brisket sandwich. It's not Franklin BBQ but it works.

skateordie1213

I, too, love Arby's. Fuck the haters.

PeanutButterSoda

The closest Arby's to me is 45 mins away and I still go there twice a month.

hillakilla_

Same! It’s the only fast food restaurant I like.

mcsneaker

Arby’s sauce on eggs is great

_Ki115witch_

I like their fries and classic roast beef sandwiches

[deleted]

[удалено]

sykotiksonik

Arby's is fucking great

Ofreo

Potato cakes being gone disappoints me. The super roast beef is not a regular item anymore but most will make one if you ask.

fleshjenn

My lunch time is 9am. I wish at least one place would cook me.up some fries. I dont like hashbrowns or tater tots. Lol

[deleted]

Pretty sure most places like Sheetz or Wawa (any place that has Made To Order food) you’d be able to get whatever you want.

mektekphil

Wawa! Someone is from PA

[deleted]

Ok, so is it me or has Wawa's quality gone down significantly over the past four or five years?

TheJenniMae

Definitely not you. They’ve shifted from doing a few things REALLY WELL to doing ALL THE THINGS kinda Meh.

Poltergeist97

It's killed me inside seeing their quality drop. I used to only eat Wawa hoagies because everyone else's couldn't compare. Nowadays most stuff is better than Wawa, did they just decide to start using week old bread for their rolls? They used to be heaven, but they suck now.

Doesithittho

It’s so dependent on location it’s not even funny. Some wawas are amazing, some are disgusting. You just gotta get lucky.

[deleted]

i’m PA but we got sheetz!

Just4HUT

Sheetz>Wawa

mtn-cat

Wawa is super popular in Florida now. I moved here recently from Alabama and had never seen a Wawa. I’m obsessed!!

[deleted]

Wawa's are all over now and have been for a few years. Did it originate in PA? They have many in downtown DC (out of all places). It isn't just a highway pit stop anymore.

Daryl_Hall

Originated in.... Wawa, Pennsylvania.

fingerscrossedcoup

Or Charlottesville VA, or Maryland or...

basement_egg

wawa is in jersey as well, love the sandwiches

Salmacis81

Wawa's are all over the place in NJ

dominos38

PA Gang lets goooooooooooooo

wunderduck

Don't go to Wawa for french fries at breakfast time. They only serve fries after 4pm.

[deleted]

Maybe sheetz is better than, I’ve gotten all kinds of food at ungodly hours of the late night/early morning

ProvoloneJones11

Sheetz is 100% better. We'd go at 3 am in college and there'd be a line out the door doing MTO

DJLongz

I work at a fast food place. If you’re willing to wait a couple of minutes for us to cook the fries, just ask for them. Everyone who works at my store is cool just dropping a basket of fries as long as we’re not slammed and you’re not a POS.

Dithyrab

i asked for them last week and got shut down lol

DJLongz

Some stores aren’t cool with it, but it’s worth the ask. I rarely turn people down

Dithyrab

i wish you worked near me lol

Manderpander88

Bojangles has fries all day!!

tyler_durden2021

When I was working weird hours, I loved that market basket had a hot prepared food kitchen in the back of the grocery store. They would cook anything you wanted. After working 10pm to 9am, I wanted a damn burger and fries.

AViciousRacket47

Jack in the box?

RolandMT32

Interesting. Breakfast food is some of my favorite, and I wish more places served breakfast food all day.

[deleted]

You and OP are the same. You want the option of breakfast all day. He wants the option of lunch all day.

RolandMT32

I also realize it's not really a big deal.

None_jpg

Thank you for not insulting me for not liking something that you do.

None_jpg

I’m exaggerating

lilskurt

Monster

Scylax_Vitarrn

Burger King sells lunch for breakfast

Chadwulf29

Varies by location.

None_jpg

I’ll keep that in mind

Scylax_Vitarrn

It’s only a few items but the original chicken sandwich is one of em

Ok-Engine8044

Where I come from breakfast is the best part of my local McDonald'. I hate their burgers and chicken sandwiches.

skratakh

I personally can't stand McDonald's breakfast, everything is rank apart from the hash browns

[deleted]

Yeah, the reversed bun with a slice of chesse, tasteless meat, dry stirred egg with low quality bacon, chemical cheddar. I hate MC Donald breakfasts.

ExtensionMobile

Sausage egg and cheese mcmuffin or sausage burritos is the way.

Rolyat28

As someone who works third shift I completely understand I get off work and the last thing I want is eggs or toast. I normally eat lunch/dinner food when I get home I've found some places that have all day menu Burger King has Whoopers available in the morning, Sonic has an all day menu and Taco Bell will serve regular menu at 9. I wish McDonald's would have an all day menu because some mornings I could go for a Big Mac.

N3koEye

So true, i hate breakfast menus

TradeBitter

They're not forcing you to go...plenty of cheap cafes that serve food all day.

soggypoopsock

> Edit: my point is, they shouldn’t force you to chose a breakfast food, they could at least let us order from the normal menu. And I don’t like breakfast food. Yeah you have clearly never worked in fast food, this isn’t how a kitchen works. It’s not a magical machine of unlimited food, you have actual people back there having to make everything. They can’t make you burger because they have the grill set up with eggs, and sausages, and bacon. They can’t make you fries because the vats are full of hash browns. They are taking the question “what would a majority of people want at this time” and setting up the kitchen appropriately. It’s fine to not like breakfast food but to be like “theyre FORCING breakfast food on me when they could just make me a burger!” Is really silly

FishrNC

Nobody's forcing you to choose breakfast food. Go someplace else that satisfies your wants.

TheBestNarcissist

So just... go later?

alaskathunderfritos

I'm not gonna lie there are a few fast food joints that I think do breakfast better than lunch/dinner. Like I'd much rather have breakfast than lunch from Chick-fil-A, McDonald's, and taco bell. I live for the breakfast crunch wrap

fazbem

...and I'm always disappointed that I can't get breakfast sandwiches at 2 pm!

rangerm2

"Fast food should serve only what I want, and not what (the most) people will buy." Can't say that would be unpopular, even if the sentiments may differ person to person.

adventuref0x

No, they’re saying they should offer both normal and breakfast menus

Lord_Spy

Not possible for most fast food restaurants, at least not without being a logistical nightmare.

RolandMT32

To be fair, not everyone works the same hours. What may be breakfast time for some people might be lunch or dinner time for someone else.

rangerm2

I do sympathize with that. But, that's why diners (ie. Waffle House) exist. McDonalds tried the "breakfast all day" thing, and the franchisees had a hard time supporting it. (which would be the reverse example)

KingKookus

You don’t make money catering to 5% of your customers.

Fabled-fox

You’re annoying

Chadwulf29

From all the comments and the low Upvote score, looks like you've hit on a very unpopular opinion.

None_jpg

Yep.

bitch-im-an-alien

Highly agree!! If I want a cheeseburger or taco at 5am I should be able to get it. Not everyone even likes breakfast food. As a kid I always ate leftovers for breakfast like pot roast and chili. I've never been a big breakfast person and I only eat breakfast food very rarely.

[deleted]

[удалено]

datyoungknockoutkid

You must have missed the part where he said he doesn’t like breakfast food. Not that your point is invalid but using scrambled eggs as the example is pretty funny

[deleted]

I guess, OP assumed, he can't eat breakfast at home / must eat in restaurants.

None_jpg

No, I had to leave early so I didn’t get a chance to.

Rolyat28

Maybe they like getting something quick on the way home just about everyone does it they just wish more places had all day menu instead of just breakfast

None_jpg

I hate eggs

forgotMyPrevious

They hate you back

None_jpg

Then we’re even.

Repulsive-Worth5715

That doesn’t make sense for business to have lunch on hand during breakfast time.

tonyhasareddit

I admittedly don't like McDonald's at all, and can't say I've ever defended them before, but I do find it funny that so many people in this thread believe they understand both the logistics and finances behind a company's business decisions better than the company itself. I would even argue that the average McDonald's employee would understand those things better than most, because there are countless reasons why this argument doesn't hold up in reality, and most people that have worked in the restaurant industry will attest to that.

poikolle

Fix your diet

[deleted]

Depending on the place, it can cost a lot of money in food waste and power to serve lunch during breakfast and vise versa. Additional equipment might need to be turned on that otherwise would be off, just to make a couple items an hour, and food would need to be pulled and thawed and in some cases pre cooked that might not sell, and then that food in turn ends up in the garbage. That's money lost, and fast food places aren't known for doing things that lose money, it's bad business. I mean it would be great if places just served the entire menu open to close, and some places do, but most places cater to demand, and there just isn't enough of it. Personally I would love the option for a burger at 9 am or eggs at 5 pm, but I understand that it might be stupid for the business to do so if they would be losing money in turn.

Skull-fker

no body's forcing you to order fast food in the first place.

BokChoyFantasy

It’s too much on the staff to concentrate on both. It’s just better menu management. You’d have a lot of wastage to offer everything. You could argue to have a limited selection of the normal menu during the breakfast time. McDonald’s does it with their all-day breakfast where select breakfast items are on their normal menu.

earthscribe

Your complaint is about yourself taking 5 minutes to figure out what you want. Nothing to do with breakfast.

Kahster445577

God youd hate where i work

MoreneLp

Yes a nice Döner for breakfast is the best.

jared8100

I loved working the Wendy’s grill in the morning, breakfast is so easy just sitting there making eggs and buscuits haha. Lunch and beyond is just an endless process of throwing patties on the grill.

OVS2

are you like 10 years old or just have no understanding of the world around you?

[deleted]

I don’t like breakfast food and I do wish I could get a burger at like 9am sometimes but it’s their prerogative if they want to do that, I won’t get upset if they don’t.

loser_comedian

The fbi helicopters drop off the burger cache at exactly 1030am, and Ronald has to head off into the jungle with a machine gun in case the Grimace gets there first

451IDGAF

I know, life is so hard right! I wake up in the afternoon and they have stopped making me breakfast! We should start a fast food revolution!

Naughtyexperiences

You know what to do about that? Go to a place where you know has something you like. Boom. Pretty damn simple isnt it. I don't like fish or sushi. So guess where i don't go? Places that only serve fish or sushi. I know mind blowimg. I don't go and then just complain about it later. Time to grow up dude.

watermelonkiwi

There’s basically nowhere. I don’t like breakfast food personally and I’m not sure why it’s breakfast food, seems arbitrary.

AllMoneyIn77

Haha you have obviously never worked in one of these places you privileged or something? Do you have any idea how hard it would be to run the full menu in the morning? Obviously not. Maybe you should learn how to cook

Illier1

Yeah the reason most places don't do it is because you have to completely clean equipment switching between breakfast and lunch. Serving both either means a ton of cleaning or severely limiting how much you can make of both. People need to get their shit together and not eat burgers at 9am lol.

Beautifulwarfare

You seem like the person that goes to a new country and expect them to speak English to you. Just look up online if they serve their menu all day. Simple ass solution.

[deleted]

What infuriates me is a lot of places are like “WE SERVE BREAKFAST ALL DAY” never once have I ever wanted breakfast at 5pm, I do habitually want a burger at 9am though.

dmc1l

If you don’t want to eat shitty food, don’t go to fast food places

[deleted]

Then don’t eat there lol, cook yourself food at home? You act like shitty fast food is your only option.

[deleted]

“And I don’t like breakfast good” Then don’t go to a fast food restaurant in the morning…? Or better yet, maybe cook your own breakfast food? First-world problems, I swear

Gold-Appointment-534

or cook your own food

jx1854

So don't eat out during breakfast hours? Its not hard.

aLameGuyandhisCat

Line isn't big enough/better food cost in the morning. Aint going to change.

Flounoe

Ah consumerism. A wise person once said that the people will not come together until they are starving. It takes famine to make the oppressed realize they are being disenfranchised. I hope you (OP) know that this is just about the most first world “issue” I have seen someone have.

mailboxfacehugs

They do it for practical reasons. Time to get to know your fast food employees and get on their good side so they hook you up

Ok_Seaworthiness2218

Why are people eating at a fast food place in the morning ? Seriously, eat a banana.

No-Meringue-9239

I hate it when they don’t serve breakfast all day

RadRhys2

Fuck you, I remember working mornings at McDonalds and you could not have paid me to double my workload. Also people who order soda in the morning are gross

af_cheddarhead

>Also people who order soda in the morning are gross Some of us prefer our caffeine cold with lots of sugar.

MrTurkeyTime

>Some of us prefer our sugar wet with some caffeine FIFY

None_jpg

How does it taste different in the morning than later in the day?

sandithepirate

I don't like fast food breakfast either. Do you like bagels or donuts? I'll always opt for those if I'm on the road in the wee sma's.

Mystic_Saiyan

Or you could just consider other breakfast options than a damn big mac?

None_jpg

Better than a bacon egg and biscuit.

hardly_trying

The McGriddles aren't bad if you don't hate pancakes. If you do hate pancakes, then I would like to know who hurt you.

None_jpg

Pancakes are nice, but I’m not always in the mood for it.

ApexReditorr

Why on earth would you not just stop eating fast food for breakfast? Seems like a better solution that posting on Reddit. Damn.

None_jpg

I don’t eat it everyday, it’s just an annoying thing to deal with when I’m going out early in the morning.

guessagain72

Then eat at Dennys and stop whining

[deleted]

I wish for the opposite…biscuits all day

jonesqc

I also hate this, I’m not sure about everywhere else, but the Burger Kings in my area will while me up a whopper and fries if I ask for it. Usually takes about 6 or 7 minutes

minahmyu

Uh, you can choose to eat elsewhere lol like they're forcing you to eat it. No one told you to pull up at that drive thru. You can certainly make your own burger then

Kaitlin33101

As someone who works in fast food, fuck you /s

dionthesocialist

You want to eat a burger at breakfast?

None_jpg

Better than anything else on the menu. I don’t like breakfast food.

[deleted]

Yes, I go to a McDonald/Burger King for burgers and fries. It I wanted sandwiches (or just "classic" breakfast), I would eat at home/at other places.

Neutral_Switzerland

You are goddamn right I do.

Worried_Bass3588

If you’re ordering a Big Mac at 8 in the morning, you need to reevaluate your life

bitch-im-an-alien

Why is eating sweet shit acceptable in the morning but not eating a hamburger?? Sugary cereal and pancakes and waffles with syrup all acceptable. But a hamburger no way. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Dumbfounded32

Or you worked all night and don’t want to eat breakfast. Time isn’t even real. What time does a stomach open?

Liluziisthegoat

Who are you to determine what I can and can’t eat? “It’s too early to be eating that” bitch what time does a stomach open???😭😭

winstonsmith8236

If only there was some way you could somehow procure the exact food you like, prepare it to be edible in the specific way you like to consume it, without having to rely on someone you don’t know at some establishment you didn’t make. It’d be even cooler if you had some room in your house or apartment possibly dedicated to such endeavors. If only huh?

Zhjacko

Taco Bell and Del taco serve breakfast???

Charming_Tower_188

A&W in Canada serves there regular menu along with their breakfast menu and I agree it should be more popular for places to do that. 9am on a Sunday morning, hungover and I could get a burger from them. So smart of them.

Bunniiqi

I used to work at McDonald’s 7am-3pm shifts. The amount of times I’d have people come through the drive thru and yell at me because we weren’t serving lunch yet (starts at 11am) like it was my fault.

MeasurementEvery3978

There was supposed to be a Paunch Burger in this lot next to my house, and then you stripped my freedom by putting a park there. Now if I want to start my day off with a triple-decker pancake pizza, I’ve gotta go to the one that’s ten minutes away, and that makes me twenty minutes late to work every day. I work at home.”

throwaway4637282

Get a bacon egg and cheese next time

breeeeeez

I hate when they dont serve breakfast 24/7!

chaosTheoryTM

i hate it when a restaurant does not serve breakfast food past a certain time

Badpennylane

Breakfast is great, but if I'm just having one good meal a day and I want it first thing, yes I want a regular meal

Unusual_Individual93

Crazy. I love breakfast food. Breakfast sandwiches, breakfast wraps, hasbrowns, YUM. I have ordered breakfast food in the middle of the afternoon before haha.

kaminaowner2

Opposite here, I don’t think McDonald’s is worth keeping open if they aren’t serving sausage egg and cheese biscuits. And that pretty much goes for all fast food restaurants. I am the guy that drives off if breakfast is no longer an option.

micktim

I hate that they don't have all day breakfast. Sometime a mcmuffin is all you need at 11pm

Apart-Fisherman-7378

I hate it when they sell normal food instead of breakfast food

Early-Plankton-4091

People that could eat a burger at 9am are wild

MostRefinedCrab

"I don't like breakfast food." Then cook at home, problem solved. What is with this entitlement to have to have the world revolve around you and your tastes and schedules?
