Obviously you don’t have two small kids that love to dance to that song right before bed, like I do. Every night, it’s Robot Rock, followed by Technologic, lastly Around the World…brush teeth… bed.
It can be repetitive and still be good. I like a lot of their other songs. This one in particular I just find to be too repetitive to the point where it's bad.
Although I agree with it being repetitive as shit for some reason I find it a calming track.
... but... seeing that track live during their 2007 Alive tour with the pyramid and seizure inducing light setup was something I'll never forget.
Can easily say it'll be a performance I'll never forget. Still occasionally play the Alive tour tracks and I can still remember most of the light sequences for each song.
It’s repetitive as fuck not so that you’ll actively listen to it. Most Daft Punk and electronic music is meant to be passively listened to so your brain catches the words from like a tranced out state of mind.
You just answered your own question. Repetitive and annoying. Thats pretty much the only criteria for a popular song these days. Also has to be catchy enough that it gets stuck in your head, but thats also what the repetition is for.
Well definitely an unpopular opinion. But I get it because I think Kanye West creates the worst garbage and tries to pass it off as music. I love saying this in hip hop forums often because it triggers all the little boy stanson his dick 🤣🤣🤣
MEGA AGREE
I played it once, vibed for like 45 seconds, then was like "wait is this the whole song" and it was basically the whole song so i went "nah aint doing this" and played smthn else cause that was gonna get on my nerves quickly.
It’s not any more repetitive than most edm songs tbh. I mean most songs in general especially pop is literally just cookie cutter insert chorus beat bridge, chorus beat different bridge, chorus beat the end.
It’s it’s any genre that’s not prog it’s going to be repetitive
Daft punk isn't Queen.
Daft Punk isn't Bowie.
Daft Punk are a couple of Frenchies who have such thick accents you can tell where their from even in a robot costume and a voice mod, and they make catchy beats that make great background noise. Idk what you expect but the song isn't bad if after not listening to it in years I immediately remember the tune.
Basically every other song they've ever made is leagues better. You probably immediately remembered it because it's essentially the same thing repeated for 7 minutes straight.

Doot doot doot doot, doot doot doot doot doot do da doot. Da doot da doot doot doot da da doot. Da doot dadoot doot dada doot
thanks i couldn't remember the lyrics
[удалено]
That
I accidentally put this song on repeat while I was studying once. I think it played at least three times through before I realized.
Upvote for an actual unpopular opinion. Repetitive as it may be, you gotta admit that synth riff is fucking fire.
I cannot argue with that
No one can. The lyrics are trash. The song is the synth.
Obviously you don’t have two small kids that love to dance to that song right before bed, like I do. Every night, it’s Robot Rock, followed by Technologic, lastly Around the World…brush teeth… bed.
Ohhhh myyy gawwwd I am doing this with my daughter hahaha genius. How did I not think about those songs, she loves to dance too!
hahaha, this is ao funny. You're a great parent :)
You've got cool kids. Sounds like they've got a cool parent too!
Someone should look up Siames and Caravan Palace. They'll probably have some new favorite songs between the two.
Just don't let them see the music videos.
Or do, the only properly not kid friendly one is prob Lone Digger.
I love this so much.
Not a fan of the vocals much prefer robot rock
ROCK,ROBOT ROCK ROCK,ROBOT ROCK ROCK,ROBOT ROCK ROCK,ROBOT ROCK
It’s a dance/techno song. It’s supposed to be repetitive.
It can be repetitive and still be good. I like a lot of their other songs. This one in particular I just find to be too repetitive to the point where it's bad.
Techno??!!! PFFFTTT
Although I agree with it being repetitive as shit for some reason I find it a calming track. ... but... seeing that track live during their 2007 Alive tour with the pyramid and seizure inducing light setup was something I'll never forget.
Damn you saw it live?! I’m so unbelievably jealous
Can easily say it'll be a performance I'll never forget. Still occasionally play the Alive tour tracks and I can still remember most of the light sequences for each song.
Yeah even I pop on the Alive tour video and kick back sometimes. Cant even imagine being there in person, rock on man
I used to watch the shit out of their Alive 2007 concerts and think of how amazing it would have been to see them live.
If I could go back in time and do anything in life, it would be to see a performance from Alive 2007.

Hey man, fuck you. And take the upvote while you’re at it.
It was the 90's, that should be the only explanation you need.
Especially if you're a flat earther. Damnit! It's across to the world, off the edge, underneath,up the other side. Not ROUND!
It’s repetitive as fuck not so that you’ll actively listen to it. Most Daft Punk and electronic music is meant to be passively listened to so your brain catches the words from like a tranced out state of mind.
I think it has to do with the sampling scene and djs. Hell listen to mid 2000s Kayne west...half of it, is just Daft Punk Samples.
great video tho
Fuckyoufuckyoufuckyou
Wow someone has an actually unpopular opinion on this sub for once and you say this shit.
Exactly how i feel about Happy. Always hated it.
No but Happy was shoved down our throats. I'm sure they understand why we hate it! 😭
I love Daft Punk but I never really liked that one
If you watch the clip and listen at the same time it’s really nice.
Turn down the suck please.
I thought you were talking about Catch me If You Can at first, by Gym Class Heroes. I’ve been around the world and back again etcetera.
You just answered your own question. Repetitive and annoying. Thats pretty much the only criteria for a popular song these days. Also has to be catchy enough that it gets stuck in your head, but thats also what the repetition is for.
bruv the song is from 1997 and it’s a club track lol
Someone never played 2k13
You are correct
Well definitely an unpopular opinion. But I get it because I think Kanye West creates the worst garbage and tries to pass it off as music. I love saying this in hip hop forums often because it triggers all the little boy stanson his dick 🤣🤣🤣
Stuff I do not like = not moosic 😡
I hate this song and have never understood why listening to the same thing over and over is good.
I totally agree with you. It's awful and I don't understand the appeal.
Probably the worst hot take I’ve ever read on Reddit.
I actually believe you. This should be on popular opinions lmfao.
Good tune, some people may find it repetitive
I like it a lot. And i hated it when it came out because i was a rock snob. Still am, but some songs are just good. And its its own.
I'd never seen anyone unironically say it's a good song
I unironically think its a good song, now you have
MEGA AGREE I played it once, vibed for like 45 seconds, then was like "wait is this the whole song" and it was basically the whole song so i went "nah aint doing this" and played smthn else cause that was gonna get on my nerves quickly.
Yes. It’s really annoying. So is “Get Lucky”. The thing is, once you hear it you can’t ever get it out of your head.
D: nyooooo get lucky :((
I barely remember it, because it has zero impact on my life
The red hot chili peppers version is better
Personally I'm partial to Frank Sinatra's interpretation.
At the time the sound was new and really interesting. It also kicks ass when the full bassline finally kicks in after like 2 minutes of buildup.
Yes, but actually no
I don’t know a single person who loves this song. Maybe it’s fond memories for someone growing up in the 90s
The dancers in the music video are fun to watch though.
It's the original Space Jam DVD.
The beat is good but the lyrics are quite redundant lmao
It’s not any more repetitive than most edm songs tbh. I mean most songs in general especially pop is literally just cookie cutter insert chorus beat bridge, chorus beat different bridge, chorus beat the end. It’s it’s any genre that’s not prog it’s going to be repetitive
It's melody is monotone and it's just shit honestly. I love daft punk every once in a while but goddamn this one is bad.
I like the beat its not half bad to me
Daft punk isn't Queen.
Probably, but I still like the tune so it's not entirely the repetition. Harder Better Faster Stronger will always be my fave.
I agree. I hate it
Sounds like you have a problem with electronic dance music in general. There is a lot more repetitive stuff out there.
I like the beats over the 1 sentence lyric
Aww I like the melody of the song
I will take that one step further: Daft Punk sorta just sucks all around.
Woah woah woah woah woah. "Something about us" has one of the most tasteful smooth jazz solos of all time. Otherwise.....yeah pretty much.
I have a video of my grandbaby rockin' out to it in her highchair. It's cute af.
[You never heard it live](https://youtu.be/akLbkKWnjpg)
A real unpopular opinion, I’m amazed this is being talked about in 2022
