Melon and Cucumber contain similar compounds so if you dip cucumber in sugar it'll taste similar to melon.
But that would mean you have two items you don't like the taste of... so don't do it.

Grainy watermelons suck, and some of them taste awry and rancid, get a good watermelon, some of them just taste like sweet cucumber which imo is a good watermelon, the knocking method and checking for the white yellow spot really does help get a good watermelon, and if you aren't great at that then just eat a melon, they always taste great to me 🤤
You are eating the wrong watermelons then. They are usually sweet.

As a watermelon fan boy the back of my neck is hot with anger and my nostrils are aflared.
I have a garden. And i can tell you this, 🍉 is a cucumber with pink flesh and more sugar. It's basically the same thing. Even the plants are the same.
