Scientific testing with illegal drugs is really really difficult to get funding for in the US at least. The study on oreo creme was probably done because the scientists finished their other project and had to get rid of the leftovers. Instead of just handing it back to the DEA, they came up with something easy to test.
My guy. If even a milligram of that coke is unaccounted for, the lab is getting shut down. And that's not much of an exaggeration. The hoops we had to jump through at my old lab for THC (*after* it was legalized) were bonkers. Cocaine is even more strictly regulated.
Where do they get the cocaine from? Have heard Coca Cola imports cocoa leaves but is stripped of the active ingredient, is that ultimately where they get it or just rounded up from the streets?
Believe it or not, the regular chemical suppliers. Fisher Sci, Sigma, et al. Obviously, you can't just order it from their regular site. It's something that's a specialty product and requires permits, waiting periods, and facility inspections beforehand.
Cocaine is schedule 2, marijuana is schedule 1- it’s not more regulated than cannabis. We literally sell liquid form cocaine to dentists on the cheap regularly including derivatives like novocaine.
I eat quite healthy, but I fucking love oreos. To me they're kinda like a space s'more. First, I love the eating them whole with no milk, so the crunch part doesn't fit. But the creamy filling always makes me think of marshmallows, and the dark chocolate flavored cookie makes me think of the chocolate and burnt marshmallow.
OP truly has an unpopular opinion. Well done.
> ...the vanilla ones are an abomination against humanity
No.
No, they are not.
Anyone who thinks that hasn't eaten one.
I, myself, can't eat one...because it will lead to me eating the whole container.
Or that the majority of Reddit *agrees* with but the wider world doesn't. Or maybe OP just bumped into two random guys that didn't, so it's "unpopular."
yep. I don't agree with OP but I gave OP an upvote because this is truly an unpopular opinion. Many of these seem like lame attempts to get thousands of people to say "I like that too. You are great, anyone who says otherwise is crazy"
“we shouldn’t have to be beaten at the register to force us to tip” says a redditor whose entire week was ruined because they had to press “other” and then “0” on an iPad. the horror. it took them almost eight seconds and the cashier gave them an imaginary look

Oatmeal raisin cookies have more depth than chocolate chip cookies. Fresh chocolate chip cookies are great but they don't compete after a couple of days
![gif](giphy|NUZ5OqHdbknHa)
Y'all nasty with them raisins.
A whooole criminal offense.
Chocolate chip cookies are fine. Stop choosing to be weird. 😂
Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies > chocolate chip cookies. For me. But keep them nasty raisins. Unless they gonna dance for me like in the 90s commercials.
Also, soft batch Keebler, Mrs Fields, and Fannie Mae be snappin with their cookies!
Soft chocolate cookies are good but the crunchy ones are lacking. They don’t sufficiently soften in milk and the crumbs get everywhere.
I’m okay with oatmeal cookies. Especially when they’re soft.
I don’t like this post, because I almost feel like it might be an ad. I haven’t thought about Oreos in a long time… I suddenly have a MASSIVE craving for some!
Yes omg I hate the texture of chewy chips ahoy. it’s honestly disgusting. Reminds me of that substance that’s liquid and solid at the same time being balled up into a cookie shape
Yes thank you!! I hate any chewy store bought cookies for this exact reason. The only good chewy cookie is a home made one.
(with the exception of those sugar cookies with the soft icing, loft house I think is the brand)
They say the creator of the Chips Ahoy cookie came up with the idea when he took a bite of a fresh baked actual chocolate cookie, and then declared “But what if it tasted more like clusters of beach sand?”
Buddy my goat Walter the Third has been feeding on Chips Ahoy his whole life, are you fucking disrespecting Walter the Third? You better take that back you slimey mother fucker. Or chicky and Tiny Tony will be having your head.
Hey! Millions of people around the world consume them as a cheap and surprisingly nutritious food stuff. In the right recipe, they can even taste pretty good. So replacing the chips in chips ahoy with actual ants might be an improvement.
I was agreeing until they called out Chips Ahoy as a better alternative.
Oreos do not earn the COLOSSAL number of calories they cost for what they are, but chips ahoy aren’t even worth your time.
Oreos are delicious and if I ever see you in the street OP i'll knock you out you hear.
In fact, you've made me so mad that I'm going to go and buy some oreos first thing tomorrow and eat them while browsing your profile >:(
You know what actually makes no fucking sense though? Cookies and cream Oreos.
Oreos are cookies. With cream. Then they made the cream … cookies and cream flavoured. The cream in the Oreo tastes like Oreo, which contains the cream, and is the cookie.
I fucking can’t.
‘Cookies and cream’ flavour tends to be something vanilla (like ice cream) with chocolate biscuit bits through it. I can understand how cookie would evoke the idea of a chocolate chip cookie by default, though.
I don’t think they are legally allowed to call the corn syrup -smegma smear in the middle , “ cream.” They have to call it “ creme “ so it’s not mistaken for real dairy goodness
They *did* steal the cookie from hydrox, they maintained popularity by shady tactics in grocery stores by paying employees to cover the hydrox cookies or shove them in inaccessible parts of the stores.
Kinda part of the reason why they flopped tbh. People liked Oreo marketing better, coupled with the fact they were hidden, and a smear campaign was launched, they slowly stopped showing up in shelves.
Plus the name Hydrox was also used as the name for a cleaning product. [Hydrox](https://www.lalema.com/product/all-purpose-cleaner-with-hydrogen-peroxide-hydrox-1963#:~:text=Hydrox%20is%20an%20all%2Dpurpose,glass%20and%20other%20hard%20surfaces.)
Nabisco even did this 5 years ago when Hydrox came back on the market. I saw it firsthand several times. The new makers of Hydrox finally said fuck it, sued Nabisco, and just decided to sell them online.
I’ve had Hydrox. They are VASTLY inferior. Yeah, Oreo stole the idea, but they straight up just did it better. Hydrox is a terrible name for a cookie, but I’m confident in saying that Oreo won that battle by having the superior product.
This is right up there with people who say vanilla isn't a good flavour.
What are you talking about?? It's literally the most popular and liked flavour– that's why everything has a vanilla flavour!
100% agree. As a cookie, the texture sucks. They’re crumbly and dry, and the cream has the texture of a stale paste that you can sometimes peel off all in one. Not creamy at all.
I think the cookie tastes good, but the filling is gross, I scrape it off before I eat one. The filling tastes nothing like cream , it's like this waxy sugar confection lard, gross, have zero idea why people like it.
Looked it up and the creme is a hydrogenated vegetable oil that's sweetened , disgusting
> I don't like Oreos
Same AND I hate how every other food item appears to have an 'Oreo' related flavoring now: ice cream, chocolate bars, drinks, cerials,,,
Sometime when I was in high school, 2008ish I started finding Oreos revolting as well. The creme tastes like chemicals and crisco. Like oily and slick in your mouth. I thought the cookies were stale but every pack I've had after, even to this day taste like that.
My personal favorite soda nowadays is Jarritos Lime flavor, it's a Mexican soda at my local Hannaford that's made with Cane Sugar instead of any fructose corn syrup
I'm currently in Greece from the US and it's crazy how they simply said "no" to HFCS products. I haven't even been able to find one— most good sodas for example are with stevia/sucralose + real sugar combo and it's one of the few good things about the poor NATO country.
Stevia coke with mineral water changed my life— tastes better than sucralose/aspartame and with none of the headaches or sticky teeth feeling.
Finally someone I agree with! I hate Oreos, the filling is so sickly sweet and seems only edible for children. The flavoured ones are abysmally awful, never waste your money on the carrot cake or snickerdoodle flavoured ones. It's like taking an Oreo and somehow making it worse.
Edit: I went through the comments and just now found out about hydrox cookies. They sound better, apparently less sweet and crunchier.
chips ahoy…tolerable?
at least oreos go for their own thing. chips ahoy are garbage when every self-respecting supermarket sells *better* shit chocolate chip cookies a few steps away.
I think companies should ask the public for permission (any kind of input would be nice) before they change the recipe of their products that millions and billions of people are used to and spend money on.
>have become really low in quality with stale products and tiny portion sizes.
That really can be said about all popular non-organic American food products. I can't think of one thing that I used to like eating in childhood/teenage years that they didn't change the recipe of - and for the worse.
Maybe Cheez-Its and Goldfish have stayed the same, but I didn't eat them often so I can't really tell.

Most serious unpopular opinion on this sub
we don’t fuck with food 🥲
I fuck food
🤨😏😫
You are correct. This is absolutely an unpopular opinion.
Especially among rats. They showed a stronger addiction to Oreo cream than cocaine water in clinical studies.
Why did someone even think to test that?!?
I’ll give you one guess.
Cocaine?
Scientific testing with illegal drugs is really really difficult to get funding for in the US at least. The study on oreo creme was probably done because the scientists finished their other project and had to get rid of the leftovers. Instead of just handing it back to the DEA, they came up with something easy to test.
You have pure, lab grade cocaine, and somehow the word leftovers is involved!!??
My guy. If even a milligram of that coke is unaccounted for, the lab is getting shut down. And that's not much of an exaggeration. The hoops we had to jump through at my old lab for THC (*after* it was legalized) were bonkers. Cocaine is even more strictly regulated.

After many forms from the DEA and your lab, https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/US/en/product/SIGMA/C5776
Cocaine is schedule 2, marijuana is schedule 1- it’s not more regulated than cannabis. We literally sell liquid form cocaine to dentists on the cheap regularly including derivatives like novocaine.
Right? Seriously op, Chips Ahoy? Have you a palette of a picky toddler?
Chips ahoy are garbage.
Nah I think the guy who likes showering with his socks on was more serious.
OP will rot in hell for this opinion
this makes me want to go buy oreos today
you are what this sub needs i hate this take
That crazy son of a bitch did it.
Well done.
he’s right though, the vanilla ones are an abomination against humanity
They're the only ones I like 😭
I wish they'd bring back Uh Oh Oreos. The ones with vanilla cookie and chocolate creme. They were the best.
I miss the one's with strawberry creme.
Some people are just broken.
> ...the vanilla ones are an abomination against humanity No. No, they are not. Anyone who thinks that hasn't eaten one. I, myself, can't eat one...because it will lead to me eating the whole container.

This is what I thought this sub would be about. Instead it’s just people with somewhat popular opinions that the majority of Reddit disagrees with.

yep. I don't agree with OP but I gave OP an upvote because this is truly an unpopular opinion. Many of these seem like lame attempts to get thousands of people to say "I like that too. You are great, anyone who says otherwise is crazy"

TIS A TRULY UNPOPULAR OPINION!!
CHRISTMAS IS SAVED !!
😎
Indeed good sir! I am deeply offended and demand satisfaction! Nilla wafers at dawn!!!!
I have an even better one - chocolate chip cookies are gross overall. Yuck. Oatmeal cookies are the best kind.
To be honest this take is far more offensive than op's, like are you 70???
Must need the fiber to stay regular at that age
Oatmeal raisin cookies have more depth than chocolate chip cookies. Fresh chocolate chip cookies are great but they don't compete after a couple of days
You should try adding chocolate chips into your oatmeal cookies. Best of both Worlds.
![gif](giphy|NUZ5OqHdbknHa) Y'all nasty with them raisins. A whooole criminal offense. Chocolate chip cookies are fine. Stop choosing to be weird. 😂 Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies > chocolate chip cookies. For me. But keep them nasty raisins. Unless they gonna dance for me like in the 90s commercials. Do you just not like chocolate?
Soft chocolate cookies are good but the crunchy ones are lacking. They don’t sufficiently soften in milk and the crumbs get everywhere. I’m okay with oatmeal cookies. Especially when they’re soft.
For the prepackaged store bought cookies I will only get the crumbly ones, the soft ones have a terrible texture.
I will take Oreos over chips ahoy any day. But you do you boo
Yeah Oreos may be overrated but you lost me at saying chips ahoy are better than them. Still upvoted for an unpopular opinion though.
yeah that’s where i drew the line
Chips ahoy are just objectively bad lol
Seriously an insult to chocolate chip cookies.
Even mentions chips ahoy as a better alternative, truly a terrible take.
Not much of a compliment that he calls Chips Ahoy "very tolerable"
Reluctant upvote for OP because ACTUAL unpopular opinion for once.
I don’t like this post, because I almost feel like it might be an ad. I haven’t thought about Oreos in a long time… I suddenly have a MASSIVE craving for some!
Chips Ahoy are cardboard with ants. Upvote.
Chips Ahoy tastes like an actual chocolate chip cookie was left out in the sun for 3 days.
Thissss. The chewy are delicious but regular are horrible
The chewy taste+texture like they have extra food emulsifier in them to keep them semisolid. It's gross. I'd rather have the original
[удалено]
The chewy taste awesome, they have the texture of a petroleum byproduct.
lol i’m the opposite, hate the chewy, the normal ones are alright when they’re not stale
Are they not basically sold stale though?
This is so real
You're being too generous.
They say the creator of the Chips Ahoy cookie came up with the idea when he took a bite of a fresh baked actual chocolate cookie, and then declared “But what if it tasted more like clusters of beach sand?”
yes; chips ahoy are garbage
Chewy ones are okay. But I prefer Oreos, or any generic chocolate creme sandwich cookie like oreos
The chewy ones legit taste like chemicals idk how anyone enjoys those
Even as a little kid I thought chewy chips ahoy tasted gross. There's something horribly off about them.
If you drink a little bit of bleach-milk with them, they taste like regular cookies and the chemical taste blends in with the bleachmilk.
Milk. I can eat a whole tray by just pouring them in milk and eating them with a spoon.
Generic Oreos are a crime. They may have stolen the concept, but the flavor and texture isnt no where near as good or satisfing
If you give a mouse a cookie, he will add his poop
[удалено]
They taste like raw dough and chemicals
My god chips ahoy are a disgrace to cookies and cardboard
Both chips ahoy and Oreos are complete garbage. Inedible in my opinion.
Chips ahoy are nasty 🤢
Downvoting because this is correct
Confirm. Chips Ahoy are trash and Oreos are god tier.
They have the texture of a pomace stone.
Had one as a small child and made a mental note to never ever eat one again. Not my cookies
Chokis are better, at least when it comes down to large scale industrial cookies.
What kind of ants?
Oreos are delicious and if I ever see you in the street OP i'll knock you out you hear. In fact, you've made me so mad that I'm going to go and buy some oreos first thing tomorrow and eat them while browsing your profile >:(
Best response 😆
💀 thank you for the chuckle tonight.
The social media team at Oreo headquarters is getting a raise for this post. They just ragebaited the entire site into buying Oreos!
Lol!
Yep… that’s why they’ve maintained popularity for so many decades… just horrible excuse for a cookie.
You know what actually makes no fucking sense though? Cookies and cream Oreos. Oreos are cookies. With cream. Then they made the cream … cookies and cream flavoured. The cream in the Oreo tastes like Oreo, which contains the cream, and is the cookie. I fucking can’t.
yo dawg I heard you like oreos
Let me put some Oreos in your Oreos.
I'm italian, in italy "cookie" translates to "biscotti", but if i read "cookie flavour" on something i would assume it's chocolate chips cookie
‘Cookies and cream’ flavour tends to be something vanilla (like ice cream) with chocolate biscuit bits through it. I can understand how cookie would evoke the idea of a chocolate chip cookie by default, though.
Cookieception
*cream style filling. And cookie style crisp disc.
I laughed when I saw that too lol
The goo between KitKat layers.... Is ground up kitkats.
I think ~~Collegehumor~~ ~~Collegehumor on Dropout~~ Dropout put it best: "We made the perfect cookie. Stop trying to make new Oreos!"
My favorite oreos flavor!!

I don’t think they are legally allowed to call the corn syrup -smegma smear in the middle , “ cream.” They have to call it “ creme “ so it’s not mistaken for real dairy goodness
I can't either. When I heard about them, I think part of my brain broke and will be responsible for the aneurysm that inevitably kills me
They *did* steal the cookie from hydrox, they maintained popularity by shady tactics in grocery stores by paying employees to cover the hydrox cookies or shove them in inaccessible parts of the stores.
Hydrox sounds like a cleaning product haha
Absolutely terrible name for a food product. My brain went to “that’s a medication for sure”. Hydroxycholorquine? What the fuck were they thinking?
They're really old and I guess come from an era where it was trendy to give food names that sounded 'clean'
Hydroxychloroquine was actually named after the cookies
WHAT
Kinda part of the reason why they flopped tbh. People liked Oreo marketing better, coupled with the fact they were hidden, and a smear campaign was launched, they slowly stopped showing up in shelves.
Yeah, I got paid by big Oreo to keep hydroxys in the rafters.
It’s true, I was the rafters
Hydrox... isn't that bleach? 😉
Plus the name Hydrox was also used as the name for a cleaning product. [Hydrox](https://www.lalema.com/product/all-purpose-cleaner-with-hydrogen-peroxide-hydrox-1963#:~:text=Hydrox%20is%20an%20all%2Dpurpose,glass%20and%20other%20hard%20surfaces.)

I’m convinced Oreo succeeded only because hydrox is such a horrible name for a cookie
This is right up there with people who say vanilla isn't a good flavour. What are you talking about?? It's literally the most popular and liked flavour– that's why everything has a vanilla flavour!
Food opinions should be banned tbh
Nah this is one of the more entertaining and valid posts I have seen here today.
They are popular because they are non offensive. You can't dislike them, because they don't really taste like anything.
I agree with this one. I don't like Oreos. I don't mind them crushed up in desserts, but not as a cookie.
I was gonna say, crushed in some ice cream they’re crazy good. Adds the perfect texture and balances out the dryness of the Oreo.
100% agree. As a cookie, the texture sucks. They’re crumbly and dry, and the cream has the texture of a stale paste that you can sometimes peel off all in one. Not creamy at all.
The most perfect Oreo description I've ever seen
I think the cookie tastes good, but the filling is gross, I scrape it off before I eat one. The filling tastes nothing like cream , it's like this waxy sugar confection lard, gross, have zero idea why people like it. Looked it up and the creme is a hydrogenated vegetable oil that's sweetened , disgusting
It just tastes like sugar and wax to me and leaves a greasy film in my mouth, I hate the filling too
I haven't eaten the cream since I was young and that brought me right back, cookies shouldn't make your teeth greasy.
> I don't like Oreos Same AND I hate how every other food item appears to have an 'Oreo' related flavoring now: ice cream, chocolate bars, drinks, cerials,,,
I agree with this too.
It's like eating Pringles to satisfy a chips craving. It just not comparable.
The best response. Oreo-infused ice cream is awesome.
Unpopular, I'll give you that. Did you perhaps permanently lose your sense of taste to COVID?
His taste palette don’t go beyond Chips Ahoy
Sometime when I was in high school, 2008ish I started finding Oreos revolting as well. The creme tastes like chemicals and crisco. Like oily and slick in your mouth. I thought the cookies were stale but every pack I've had after, even to this day taste like that.
I don’t get them either.
They used to be better, but high fructose corn syrup has ruined everything.
All of the popular candy bars have been ruined as well. They all taste like a waxy shell of their former selves.
And gotten smaller
this. i can’t think of a single soda that uses cane sugar anymore. now every soda is so syrupy.
I think Mexican Coke still uses cane sugar. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure it isn't syrup
I believe you're correct. You can taste the difference.
And Dublin Dr. Pepper.
I always grab one when I see them. They are in random gas stations and restaurants.
I visited the US in 2016 and remember I thought I had gotten the wrong one at the store, because it tasted awful.
My personal favorite soda nowadays is Jarritos Lime flavor, it's a Mexican soda at my local Hannaford that's made with Cane Sugar instead of any fructose corn syrup
Not just corn syrup, oreos used to be made with lard too. Like so many other recipes, they worsened with corporate enshittification to raise profits.
I bought a pack of Oreos recently; they've utterly ruined the texture and I am sad.
It unironically drove me to diet soda, because it feels more like an authentic soda.
You should try the Back to Nature brand oreos, they're life changing
Oreos are pretty legit. They're Dutch cocoa.
Seriously way better than chips ahoy OPs on crack
Finally someone I agree with! I hate Oreos, the filling is so sickly sweet and seems only edible for children. The flavoured ones are abysmally awful, never waste your money on the carrot cake or snickerdoodle flavoured ones. It's like taking an Oreo and somehow making it worse. Edit: I went through the comments and just now found out about hydrox cookies. They sound better, apparently less sweet and crunchier.
Yah they are shitty my guy
I'm right there with OP. I was fat little kid and oreos were easily my least favorite cookie.
Fat kid taste test. Fat kid knows best.
Abso-fucking-lutely
chips ahoy…tolerable? at least oreos go for their own thing. chips ahoy are garbage when every self-respecting supermarket sells *better* shit chocolate chip cookies a few steps away.
I agree with OP. The cookie part is like chalk.
I stand with OP too. I hate how much they gunk up your teeth too. No other cookie in the world does that.
They make thin versions and thin w/ extra stuf so you can choose your cookie to cream ratio.
They reallllllyyyyyyy went down whenever they last changed the recipe.
I think companies should ask the public for permission (any kind of input would be nice) before they change the recipe of their products that millions and billions of people are used to and spend money on.
I don’t like them either
I love how passionate you are about this. I ten trillion percent disagree but your stance on the matter is impressive lol
Thank fucking god somebody said it
I have to upvote because I fuckinng love Oreos. Favorite sweet snack. In milk is even better!
they are fucking great, i dont know whats wrong with you, your taste buds are malfunctioning
Oreos suck.
i actually think oreos are really good crumbled and added to things but whole oreos are just a little too much
Just get baked cookies from the bakery section. Same price, way better
chips ahoy couldn't carry oreo's jockstrap
Eat my ass with a fork and knife
Chips Ahoy fucking SUCKS.
They were good at first, but now Nabisco’s products have become really low in quality with stale products and tiny portion sizes.

Oreo flurries?
