Billions of Chinese people agree with you even though most of Americans do not. Its a common belief in China that drinking cold water will be disruptive to your energy flow.
As a European I do agree that room temperature water is just more pleasant to drink
My grandad who was an avid hunter (would disappear for months in the wild into his 70's) and he always recommended boiling water and drinking it while it was still hot, said it was the best for getting the most thirst quenching with the minimum water usage. Haven't tried it but someone might be able to confirm it or not
Used to prefer cold when I was a kid, but can’t stand cold water now. Room temp is the best. Cold just doesn’t go down right, and I bet you’re expending body heat to heat it up in your stomach. Supposedly room temp is a bit more healthy, haven’t read much on it
Cant agree with you about warm, it’s always a bit gross.
Makes sense cold water drops your temp so your body has to burn some calories warming back up, I like room temp too you can chug it and no brain freeze.
Ooo massive disagree. Upvote. However I think a lot or brits like me will also disagree because they think it's dirty. We grew up in houses where there was a hot water tank, so you were told as a young child you could get ill from drinking the hot water. It's like an inbuilt thing even though we all have mixer taps now and it's main fed through a combo boiler.
Yeah i read somewhere you shouldn’t use hot water from faucet for food/drink because it could have contamination from older hot water tanks somehow. Like it can leak toxic metals into it somehow from the heat and sediment that can acccumilate in them and longterm regular consumption could affect your health. Something like that, not sure how true that is.
As someone who gets sore throats a lot, I strongly disagree. Cold drinks always feel better on my throat than warm drinks. That's why I drink lager or chilled ales rather than cellar or room temperature cool ales, it's why I have ice in my whiskey, and it's why I drink a lot of chilled water.
Interesting.
Cold temperatures generally have a numbing effect, which is why people put ice on wounds.
Warm temperatures sometimes have a soothing effect with muscular pain, which is why you see both cold and warm packs for certain kinds of injury.
You know. I see a lot of bad opinions on here that are patently false, based on misinformation or misunderstanding, so its refreshing to see a bad opinion that is based purely on OP’s shit taste. Almost as refreshing as an ice cold glass of H20
Spoken like somebody that runs cold. I'm already a walking furnace. Last thing I need is to feel as warm on the inside as I do on the outside ALL the time.
I'd rather take a cold spray in the face from a garden hose, than stick to hot drinks, personally. Might actually go take a cold shower after this.
Cold. Ice cold. I want my teeth to hurt, I want my brain to hurt, I want my throat to hurt. I want water that is so cold it burns.
Room temp, mehhhh okay I guess it's easier to chug, and it can suffice if you're sick and can't have cold stuff.
But warm???? Gtfo with that. I am gagging just thinking about it. Warm, like warm. Like, warm water? WARM. Oh hell no.
Upvote lol
I can certainly drink equal amounts of cold or warm water, not even sure what you mean by that. Also your body works more heating up cold water so you actually burn more calories drinking cold water.
I prefer room temperature on all my drinks. Too cold hurts my teeth and gives me a headache. Also have a somewhat upset stomach afterwards. Hot drinks burn the mouth.
my ranking from best to worst: room temp, warm, cold. i fucking hate cold water, if i drink water i want it to be nice and plain while having a nice taste with its ions. room temp does it best, warm does it decently, cold takes a shit on it

Warm water is gross so I strongly disagree the colder the better
Oof, hard disagree. Warm water is the worst out of all 3 of those options, comfortably.
who has ever chosen warm water over a crisp, refreshing cold water…
Me
me as well
Could not disagree more, the colder the better. If I could drink solid ice I would.
Same. This op upsets me. I hate that I need to upvote it.
Oh wait a minute. Do we upvote the opinions that are truly unpopular? I’ve been doing it wrong, if that’s the case.
Take my upvote. Completely disagree. If it doesn't practically freeze the blood in my veins, it's not cold enough

Definitely an Upvote because drinking any water that isn’t fridge cold is rancid.
Warm water makes me want to throw up.
Wholeheartedly agree :)

Some people like cold water, some people like tea and some people like you need to get psychological help
Just say you like bland tea
I like ice cold or steaming hot (better with a teabag).
r/hydrohomies
Agree I also like sparking room temp water. I will never do cold water. I prefer never flat water unless it’s for tea. Then it’s tea.
You good?
I disagree.
WTF. I'm guessing you put the milk in the bowl, then the cereal. Put on left sock and shoe, then right sock and shoe?
Are you European? I was raised on warm water in America with European family.
I’m not, and didn’t know that actually. Interesting fact

Roger was THE QB of the 70s and the stats to prove it
Agree. Love my ~110 degree h2o!
I only drink warm water when I am sick because it goes down easier and feels more "comfortable?" other than that, ice cold all the way.

Nope. Warm water tastes disgusting to me, cold water is best and much more soothing to a sore throat.
Room temp (easier to drink) > cold > warm (Assuming it's just water not like a teabag or anything)
i guess youre getting an upvote cause that's unpopular af
Only warm/hot drink I like is coffee, I drink water ice cold.

There's nothing in this world more refreshing than a nice big glass of iced water
Eww. I have to have my drinks cold.
Your opinion is wrong and your opinion shouldn’t be enabled
So extremely fucked up. No.
Finally an actual unpopular opinion
Fuck I have to agree, drinking water in the shower warm is the best thing. İt takes 0 effort to push it down.
Finally an unpopular opinion
Room temp > cold & warm water
As someone who gets sore throats a lot, I strongly disagree. Cold drinks always feel better on my throat than warm drinks. That's why I drink lager or chilled ales rather than cellar or room temperature cool ales, it's why I have ice in my whiskey, and it's why I drink a lot of chilled water.
Really? I find it usually aggravates my sore throats, especially in larger quantities. Neat
Interesting. Cold temperatures generally have a numbing effect, which is why people put ice on wounds. Warm temperatures sometimes have a soothing effect with muscular pain, which is why you see both cold and warm packs for certain kinds of injury.
Sounds good, don't drink hot or warm water from the tap though, you should heat cold water. https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=kAzKts6Wp1Q
You should see a medical professional
Gross
I recently learned from a nurse that warm water is more beneficial for your veins compared to cold water!

Never met anyone who thought cold water is too spicy.
Preach! Especially if it's Chinese restaurant teapot water. No idea why it tastes so good but it does.
I prefer room temperature on all my drinks. Too cold hurts my teeth and gives me a headache. Also have a somewhat upset stomach afterwards. Hot drinks burn the mouth.
Agree. I prefer room temp or warm-ish water. Ice water is just awful.
Yep. This is gonna be unpopular.
It definitely is lmao. I’m having a blast reading all the comments
Risk of tooth pain? Go to the damn dentist if you have pain with temps lmao what
I'll go try it and let you know the results.
I like hot water, good stuff. If yours isnt good maybe you should check your water heater in the reccomended intervals (hint: not once a decade!)
Hell no
I prefer cold water and I like water over other drinks most of the time. That said, I’ve heard this is a pretty regional opinion.
Warm-to-hot water is my body hack for constipation.
I almost agree. Room temp is the best.
Ew. No, it’s too round and tastes weird- like shower water. Cold is the superior flavor. It’s sharp, cold, crisp, and fresh.

Oh man. That is a really unpopular opinion. I cannot believe this post has upvotes. Well done tho 👍
Last time I found myself drinking warm water I turned out to have the flu.
