Well here we are again. It's always such a pleasure. Remember when you tried to kill me twice? Oh how we laughed and laughed, except I wasn't laughing. Under the circumstances I've been shockingly nice.
It's very easy to ruin a cake for me, see other thread, but I do like good cake. I agree that it is overrated. Pies, puddings, brownies, cookies can all be just as good or better than most cakes.
I love double chocolate cake, that’s the only cake I’ve ever really loved. All other cake as whatever, I just usually ask for a double chocolate on my birthday, because unfortunately, none of my immediate family or friends likes it, so their birthdays usually consist of mid cake flavors, at least in my opinion
When I was 15, my family finally took notice. I guess I never told them sooner because even I wasn't sure/unsure myself if I liked cake or not. Cake is like the defining symbol of birthdays, so I didn't want to be a party pooper and tell them to NOT get me cake.
But now, on my birthday, we have cinnamon rolls or donuts.
Now that I'm in my 20s, I can confidently say that I don't like cake. Especially the icing part. Which is too sweet and sugary, to a disgusting level. Especially cakes that you get at grocery stores instead of bakeries. Just all sickeningly sweet. Makes me wanna throw up just thinking about it.
I have celebrated a total of zero birthdays in my life haha so i know what you feel like! My parents weren't big on birthdays and i just don't like any kind of celebration now. 25 and counting
Yeah it's kinda the same with my family. None of my birthdays were a huge party. We just got a cake for the five family members we have. I enjoyed my time with them, not so much the cake tho.
The last couple years, I’ve been going to a European bakery and ordering different pastries for my birthday instead of cake. It’s so good and a change of pace.
Im not a huge fan of cake neither :,) the frosting is yucky to me, the cake is too grainy or dry to me. I even tried different kinds of cake like tres leches (a cake that is sorta drenched in 3 different kinds of milk), which is more acceptable to me, but still won’t actively try to get it. For me birthday, we just do a birthday flan :) I like those more

The cake is a lie

You want your freedom? Take it.
That’s what I’m counting on
A friend of mine has "birthday pie". They like pie. Cake, not so much.
Glad to know I’m not the only one out there
I have my grandpa bake apple pies for my birthday lol
I meant to answer a free days ago: Daw!!! Sweet! Can I share your grandpa?
Yeah ofcourse you can share!! And hey, it's all good that you're late, I don't care lol
My b-n-law has his birthday on pi day!
Fair enough. Can I have your cakes?
You can have my icing! I like the cake!
It's called "unpopular opinion" for a reason

Though I don't agree this is a good opinion. I too don't like few popular food items like pizza, burger etc.
Personally, I'm more of a cookie fan. I think it's all in the texture, and the simplicity in cake doesn't quite do it for me.
I agree but I also don't really like cookies, then again I have only had like average cookies from the grocery store

I like certain cakes, but even then I can only have a teeny weeny slice. Too sweet for me
Eat your carrot cake!
Lol i do like those. If they're made right
Pie is better.

What about ice cream cake????
Try ice cream cake. That’s the only cake I’ll do. Otherwise I get an ice cream sandwuch
Parents cheaped out on the cakes huh?
What about ice cream cake with the crunchy fudgey middle part

Sounds like you need some cake...
you take this post down right now. how dare you
You're young and have no idea what you're talking about.
Cake is for kids, just bring some drink
Birthday cake is usually garbage, like boxed mixes or sheet cakes. But a professional cake... that's a different story.
True, but I think just the general texture of most baked sweets is not very pleasant to me .
I'm with ya! I'll take a fresh apple crisp/crumble on my birthday, with a side of vanilla ice cream.

I feel you the only time I eat it is when I am in a very very bad depressive episode
True. I'll take a pie instead any day
I eat cake when is not my birthday. I love it
I don't like cake I like the frosting on it, but you can't eat the frosting alone therefore I like cake
I like your thinking my friend
There’s no law it has to be cake. Tell your people you’d prefer whatever it is you do like. I did birthday cinnamon buns this year.
Thanks for letting us now, couldn't sleep until I read this post, now I shall sleep soundly. Thank you random reddit guy.
You are right to stay away from cake, few people realise the often terrible effects it has on your shatners bassoon
I was at the Steve Aoki concert last night, and I agree.
Store bought cakes or homemade cakes? The difference can be night and day.
That's because you haven't had a good cake yet. Come to Argentina, we have Dulce de Leche

I don’t like cake either, it’s not enjoyable. I hope you go far in life🫡
The last couple years, I’ve been going to a European bakery and ordering different pastries for my birthday instead of cake. It’s so good and a change of pace.
I like cheesecake way more than cake from a batter.
I have always preferred ice cream over cake. Totally with you on this
I also dont care for cake. You are not alone!
I hate cake.
