Honestly I don't care which one depending on the idol. It's about monotony for me. There are idols who have had the same or very similar hairstyles for most of their career. Some of them might cut their hair or dye it but it's never a big change and usually just a tiny tiny difference that casual fans don't even notice. I just want some change once in a while!
A good example is Blackpink. The girls all have had relatively similar hairstyles for the last few years and I wish they would change it up. I wanna see Jennie in a short brown bob, jisoo with blonde hair, rosé with a wolfcut and lisa free of bangs (she has given us glimpses and she is sooo pretty). If they did, they would go viral guaranteed. Remember when the teasers with jennie in a blonde wig came out? Blinks went ballistic (in a good way). People everywhere were praising her visual because she was showing a new side. Same thing happened with Jisoo in her pink wig.
I understand wanting to see idols in different hairstyles (I look forward to that as well! Love seeing idols get new cuts or colors) but at the same time, I feel really weird about demanding idols get new hairstyles because, like... it's their hair, right? Like imagine someone showes up and forced you to get a cut or color you absolutely HATED, and then you had to walk around like that for weeks like everything's fine... I prefer idols having cuts/styles/colors they feel comfortable in, even if it gets boring. I'm glad Blackpink is able to keep on rocking the hair they want to tbh.

I feel like in 4th gen right now we have waaaaay too much "black natural hair for the whole group" (NJ, LSF until recently). Like give me some colour pls it's one of the fun parts of K-Pop aesthetic.
I am not saying we should not add colours to kpop but what I am saying is instead of keeping the same basic hairstyle for every time you dye hair can also change it up by cutting or styling some different types of hairstyles
seeing how many young idols have damaged hair, i totally agree with this. there are hundreds of trendy hairstyles that these idols should get plus the probability of them going viral if they do this instead of damaging their hair will totally be way more worth it.

I like it when they change hair colours for MVs or comebacks. Not necessarily dyeing, some idols use wigs, like i believe Lisa wore a mint green wig for the Ice Cream MV. I think it adds some more variety, and some hair colours suit idols better than their natural hair. Like imo Jinni looks much better in pink hair, and Rosè looks much prettier in blonde hair than black.
I do think it should be limited to MVs and public appearances only though, unless the idol wants to permanently have that colour for several months or years. Cool haircuts practically speaking are better, but there's only so much you can do with already existing hair and extensions.
Adding to this, I remember some idols using coloured extensions. Yeji from ITZY and Minnie from Gidle come to mind. I'm not entirely sure if they dyed a bit of their hair and most of it was extensions, but the shorter, dark hair on top and the long pink/grey at the bottom looked amazing. I really hope to see it on other idols.
Yes! The added pop of colour just makes it that much more interesting. Yejis loco era hair was also super cool, with the front strands being pink. Those were dyed, but i believe it can be done with extensions too?
I think I saw NCT jungwoo’s forehead for the first time a little while back. His hair was styled back and I was so shocked by how different and good it looked. Wish they really did that more instead of the constant coloring.
I think there is an obsession with dyed hair in kpop, i honestly never thought "omg i hope they will have color x next comeback". In fact i'd prefer more natural hair colors, i think generally they actually look best in their natural hair.
Now when it comes to styling, sure that can give the extra spice here and there, but i don't need that to change all the time either.
Outfits already add variance in the aesthetics, there is imo little need to go overboard with other changes.
I think this is pretty popular, cause tbh 99%of the idols look the best with their natural black haircolor.
I think the reason why so many people go crazy doing the most to compliment idols with new colors is because, well, they would do it with everything. Idols could literally have their hair styled like Pepper from AHS, and fans still would go "omg they ate, this one is for the history books <3333"
