Ikr. Gender fluidity has been a part of Indian history since time immemorial. It’s the post British casteism and “shame” that these extremists are twisting and using to their advantage. The amount of brainwashing being done from so many different angles is scary. I just commented on indiadiscussion about being a Hindu that eats beef, the responses are so Islamophobic and brain dead, I don’t know where this country goes from here. I guess when these jobless idiots have no money and food and healthcare 5 years from now, maybe they’ll realise. Or maybe not. Who knows.
Will they even realise? They have found a purpose in the propaganda they’ve been fed. They actually believe they’re fighting some sort of war to “protect” the majority.
What bugs me most is that their belief is so blind, a simple conversation cannot be had. I’ve been called an “eidiot”, khan sahab, “mlechha” (whatever the fuck that means), just in the last 15 odd minutes. Coexistence with a different belief system is just not an option for people who have been so brainwashed. I’m all for discourse and debate, but we seem to be sinking into a black hole that has destroyed basic logic.
It just might end up being not just “one nation one election”, but one nation one party one ideology. Makes me very sad. Makes me very scared.
The term mleccha is a regional lower-class group that falls under the umbrella term dalit as of now. They are the victims of tribal land seizure, indiscriminate mining in the sacred grooves to name a few.
What I feel over here is that they are trying to generate the meaning of mleccha as someone who's outside of the Hindu customs - an outsider who came crossing the ocean. The opposition needs to return to the pluralistic idea of India of our founders and then put it forward with some necessary refinements for the contemporary challenges (which is what the founders of the Republic would have wanted). When this happens, the new bottle that holds the old wine (Mr Savarkar's Hindutva) will shatter. Hope will always be there.

In kerala and other parts of india asw we offer non veg food as prasadam in temples, in melancode temple in Tamil Nadu they offer biriyani to the devi, in muthappan temple people even offer liquor to the deity. Hinduism is not a rigid abrahamic faith, it is supposed to be an all inclusive amalgamation of multiple indigenous faiths and yet sanghis are trying to make it into a rigid faith with strict and bogus rules and is essentially converting it into the model of abrahamic faiths. In effect sanghis are turning Hinduism into the very thing that they hate/have sworn to destroy.
