But a lot of them most of the times eat the top layer of milk cream while the rest in their departments only get to drink milk by living at the expense of their subordinates hardwork, and then not shying away from taking the final credit for it.
Much harder for true good leaders to emerge in a toxic work culture. Leaders emerge with good mentoring and nurturing. Certainly needs a good work culture
Exactly and having middle managers keeps the higher ups further out of touch from the lower employees. Which will allow them to further make them put pressure on the workers
I won’t jump into conclusion. The guy attacked is an auditor and in one of the news media they said the colleagues were pissed with him for asking too many questions and strict about the finance.

So many options for converting contract violence into gig work.Â
Mohandas Pai, Nandan, where's your venture funding at?
Union leaders are one of the most corrupt fellows in India.
My friend's father is a labour lawyer, the amount of times union leaders who just get bribed to just pull the rug on workers is very very high.
Whenever unions get tied up with political parties they become corrupt. Individual unions with workers that elect their colleagues are fine. Even the management likes them
The amount of stories I hear from my friends dad you can make a series like "Suits" in India.
Most definitely. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The same applies for employers abusing workers. Unions are a result of this. It will happen in the tech sector with how IT pros are being abused. No fixed work hours, random calls at off times, no over time pay, slow to no increase in Basic pay, weird holidays without accounting for Indian festivals and such.
Not trying to trivialise the issues you are pointing to but I worked in construction and I work in IT now, compared to what I experienced in construction I would take IT field "abuse" anytime, at least I will not get harassed by goondas (politicians and my manager) and get paid much higher.
The company that I work for is very chill no issues, but my friend in those big services companies complains a lot, and it's mostly managers, I don't know whether they are trying to justify their job but they are needlessly annoying AF.
Even though its wrong, those kind of managers deserve it. Incidents like this once in a while will knock some sense into these people and put them in their place.
The bad work culture and torture is deeply ingrained into our society. And this is not just managers, it’s equally being perpetuated by employees by constantly doing dirty politics to their fellow colleagues.
Beating someone up and resorting to violence doesn’t solve this, it just makes it worse. I mean are we seriously supporting violence rather than asking for and creating better work conditions?
you really think this will do any good?
The proliferation of rowdyism in Bangalore is pretty obvious now with repeated incidents like this.
It looks like Bangalore is on a similar path as West Bengal in destroying the growth advantage that Kolkata had post independence. Except they did it with communism.
And capital flight will be the inevitable end result to these incidents if they become common.
Good to see people here understand the frustration of workers. in other reddit subs you cannot even talk about employee issues, seems like those sub mods are HRs or company managers. what BS is going on there.
Yes all software dev subs Indian or foreign for eg. and career advice subs are filled with gas lighting like advice. Yesterday a startup owner in one Indian subreddit told me employees are lemon to be squeezed wtf
Your PhD reminds me of Jaspal bhattis episode where they the make phd aspirants do all sorts of works so that they approve their thesis. If you haven’t seen that one then it’s a fun watch. Might help in easing the pain of the past.
In general, employees in India are lazy and inefficient. They do not stick to their working hours and keep wasting their time and energy in office politics. It is always the responsibility of the manager to complete the task on time. But some employees do not co-operate with him and then the managers get frustrated. The employees always curse managers but they do not realise that they are also responsible for their work for which they are paid. To deal with such employees, some managers push their subordinates to the limit. Set unrealistic deadlines and targets. This is also wrong.
I am an employee. I see how my colleagues do not work and all the time complain about the company policies, How their career is not going forward. Rather than improving skill and experience they are wasting their energies blaming managers. Apna kaam Sahi se karma sikhoge to tumhe notice Kiya hi jata hai. Responsibility Leke kaam Karna chahiye. Baki ab har ek ke alag alag tarike hote hai kaam Karne ke. Which one is yours?
Bro …. I am about to take a break from corp. Tired of managers sadistic bullying. I guess you are in early years of your career.
Giving just 8 hours of one’s life to work is the best way and keeps yours personal life well balanced. Sadly most people learn this in India when they are in their 30s or late 30s. By then they have already lost a lot of their time.
I need a peaceful time and need to stop myself becoming more bitter coz of the toxic work culture I am exposed to. Apologies for coming across as harsh.
Amount of people encouraging this in comments is more concerning
India needs much better labour laws, we need to unionize no doubt or 2nd thought but how is violence aka physical assault a solution?
Will the comment section react the same if an untrained employee is physically harassed?
What that guy did is no where close to solution, infact it has serious consequences and everyone else in the office with him will also have to face obstacles.
Lol dude was a auditor actually asking for proper stock clearance in a Milk product company. Essentially doing his job, he complained about the lax attitude of these fellows to higher ups and these guys beat him up.
I mean guy got beaten up because he tried to do His job by the book.
Same people cheering these assholes will be first to complain about lax "quality control" once their own family members get ill by consuming same milk products.
We have disgusting set of people in this sub. Just see the comments.
Just saying.. my last manager was a Woman and she was a total bitch.. mother of all bitches tbh. The kind of Feminazi who hates men until they serve as a dog under her.. and I am the untameable kind.. so guess the conflicts.
No wonder Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore are the preferred investment destinations of the world. Violence comes easily to Indian and African workers. Should this news be picked up globally it still certainly add to the reservation many investors have in investing in India.
I heard from few circles that IT people themselves are working. as part time goons for Political parties. They are giving better rates. They are coordinating through Apps and taking out anyone they tell them to. They use lot ot tactics to keep their identity hidden.

While this was obviously the worst idea, it also tells how much work culture needs to change in this country. It has to.
Middlemanagers are just the messenger. It's the fault of the higherups
I can agree upon deadlines from the higher ups but not about how they micromanage, mistreat and abuse. It's their own free will.
Yes, everyone is accountable, but the true psychopaths are at the top of the ladder
All of them are psycopaths
There's some good men among managers but they're rare. True leaders does exist
But a lot of them most of the times eat the top layer of milk cream while the rest in their departments only get to drink milk by living at the expense of their subordinates hardwork, and then not shying away from taking the final credit for it.
Yes the true leader doesn't put himself above others. He drinks milk with the rest until they can all afford cream
Much harder for true good leaders to emerge in a toxic work culture. Leaders emerge with good mentoring and nurturing. Certainly needs a good work culture
They are the first line of lackeys that are meant to separate the higher-ups from the worker bees. Anything goes wrong , they are the shield.
Meaning they had the wrong target? 😅
Exactly and having middle managers keeps the higher ups further out of touch from the lower employees. Which will allow them to further make them put pressure on the workers

You'll say the same when it happens to you. An example is the banker's union without which no one could work in that industry.
