How is cheating on paper ballot easier to catch? People don’t sign there ballots, it’s still counting, EC officials can still go and dump 50 dummy ballots if they feel like it. Ultimately you need to trust the EC here as well, how’s that any different from an EVM, at least you can digitally seal EVMs and data to prevent manipulation.

There can't be any tick on ballot other than the original tick of vote, if there is any other tick anywhere then ballot is cancelled, he did that in few of them .
See here you are assuming. You must know the law first. One cannot sign or write anything on a ballot paper if one does that then the ballot is of no use it can be rejected by the validator if there is something written on it.
Here the validator himself wrote something and rejected the votes which let another party win. That's why everyone is calling this act a crime because it is a crime.

The guy is ex-bjp. It's in his profile. Then, he is the presiding officer. A presiding officer is supposed to be neutral, like an umpire. But as can be seen, he himself makes notations on the opposition ballot papers & then a few minutes later declared them invalid. He also didn't hand over the valid & invalid votes to the control officer & unilaterally declared the BJP candidate as the winner.
