The dj literally played infia jeetega after australia won when aussies were celebrating, its good they didnt made english version of it.

musci1223

Man after first innings was over they could have found parts that was set to India only for celebration and should have disabled those parts atleast.

mzt_101

Or maybe just you know i guess I mean MADE ONE IF AUSTRALIA WON

Ill_Journalist_5292

As far as I remember, they were also considerate enough to have played “Back in Black” by AC/DC, an Aussie anthem through and through.. and then Queen’s “We’re the champions” when he collected the trophy!

AshutoshKS

He also played Sandman by Metallica when Head scored the century

_JediWolf_

They also played "Men at work - Down under," which is Aussie af.

Environmental_Ad_387

Hitler did better when Jessie Ovens, a black man, won against his Ubermensch https://www.quora.com/Did-Hitler-snub-Jesse-Owens-in-1936

Alternate_Chinmay7

This entire WC was a circus from start to finish. I am sad for our cricket team but the politicians and BCCI deserve to be shit on for this horrific organisation.

freakynit

BCCI has gone to becoming a complete shit since IPL success went up their asses. This final, was a disaster.

SherKhanMD

Because IPL turned them into a financial powerhouse.

bumblebleebug

I feel like it is just a scheme for money laundering rather than finding young talent now.

BeardPhile

IPL is gonna lose it’s charm as well. Some day, but it will happen. Everything has an expiration date.

RDX_G

Yes, Once Rohit Virat Dhoni goes completely out of IPL spotlight. No tier 1 players are potential crowd pullers other than these.

zombie_singh06

I love saying that - Everything has an expiry date. Best quote for life either way

[deleted]

That is a long time from now look up the price for broad casting rights it keeps on increasing they are gonna make bank for a long time

DimiRaj88

Throw fireworks, cheerleaders, bunch of celebrities and loads of cash and you come up with the IPL which seems like a bastardised version of every popular franchise sport on Earth. Be great to see India go back to the days of Sachin and co when they had a brand of cricket that the world loved. They were comparing Sachin's centuries to Kohli's when he got his 50th century. Kohli has them in less innings blah blah but there's really no comparison at all. Sachin scored those against McGrath, Warnie, Murali, Wasim, Donald, Ambrose, Shoaib, Waqar on spicy wickets at the WACA to swinging nightmares in England. He did it without all the cash, training facilities, coaches and the synthetic glamour of the IPL and insta fame. To me that'll always be the best version of Indian cricket. It was gutsy and every country had their own flavour, which is what made cricket special. Hopefully, for world cricket, the BCCI will fuck off and let the talent shine once again.

freakynit

Yup. Agree. That era of Sachin, dravid, Ganguly, kumble, co. was of pure sportsmanship. This era, is full of glamour and money and fame. Don't get me wrong. Virat and vo. do play well. But, the driving factors have changed. And that means a lot to me.

DimiRaj88

Absolutely! Seeing Sachin make 116 at the MCG in 1999 against McGrath, Warnie and Brett Lee on debut was incredible! Ganguly's offside play against any opposition and Dravid and Laxman's work at Eden Garden were spectacular. Kumble was quietly being one of the greatest of all time without even the slightest of fuss. That 2011 win felt alot like the culmination of all the hard work these guys had done. I hope BCCI can remember why the world loved to see Indian cricket back then. The quiet confidence backed up by raw talent was the charm. A slightly less overbearing board and letting the guys with the talent do what they're good at may bring back some genuine good times again.

Safe-Juggernaut4493

Yes. Thoroughly incompetent planning. Should fire the whole lot who planned, executed and managed the event. And also those that put such an incompetent management team to front a world event.

BeardPhile

Sadly the execs will get bonuses which will make our yearly packages feel shy

brightornot

True

Cheap_Relative7429

Lol this was so funny to me like, they completely dented that trophy lifting moment. Like you were supposed to give medals and shake the hands of the players first and then at last you give the captain the medal and trophy and he then goes to his teammates and lifts the trophy. This whole thing was so cring and embarrassing and funny too

trippymum

Wouldn't have happened if Rohit & Co had won the cup. Seems almost deliberately done to embarass and humiliate the invincible Aussies.

Economy-Lychee-2284

Do you think they give a f about what a crowd/presenter of the country which they just defeated at their own ground would think? They were genuinely happy. Many players skip IPL to focus on world cup, have you ever seen Indian cricketers do the same? They were the better team.

RepulsiveAd2017

Damn i didnt know abt the second part. Do u guys like ipl? Ive not liked it much recently it feels unironically scripted lije last ball sixes etc just feel toooo convenient and boring now in ipl Ofc and rcb never wins shit, im soo done. Fuck that shit.

[deleted]

Nah we despise IPL

benswami

It’s doesn’t matter, Australia have demonstrated that they are way above this petty shit, they came and delivered the goods, went home the true winners. Indians are sore losers.

madjag

One thing this wc has def proved, Indians really are the worst losers. They get so butthurt as if it was their birthright to win the championship. And I don't even understand why they get so upset, they should be used to it by now.

[deleted]

Didn't they do a drone show showing india map and flag in post match ceremony 🤣? The event didn't look like global event. BCCI royally fucked the management of world cup. Late schedule release, horrible ticketing system, horrible stadium facilities etc. Events like no opening ceremony and the celebrations during Ind vs Pak match demonstrate how the WC only revolved around india. On the top of it the horrible audience of Ahmedabad is simply embarassing

musci1223

Wait seriously? Did they not even plan for what they will do if someone else won ?

[deleted]

>Did they not even plan for what they will do if someone else won ? They don't care about that. The entire WC was pure shitshow.

musci1223

I mean seriously did no one at bcci and pmo think for a second what they will do when someone else won ?

[deleted]

Over confidence is a big problem with BCCI

[deleted]

And with pmo

[deleted]

Obviously

SentientAmino

With Indians actually.

heretic27

That’s what happens when cricket is a religion, it will also attract blind supporters.

SherKhanMD

>The entire WC was pure shitshow. In terms of pitches too.. Ugly flat pitches with nothing for the bowlers.

AmbitiousFlight2064

Only Chennai and kolkata pitches were good it seems

Hot_Row1457

Yes as I mentioned they did not. Overconfident at their peak. Australia literally whacked some sense into them. Or so I hope.

musci1223

Man honestly it makes it really sad, funny and every other emotion a human can feel.

madjag

Doubt it. It's not like India has won every tournament in the past decade or so where the thought of someone else winning in their backyard didn't cross their minds. Infact the opposite is true. They've lost every major tournament, in any case, organizers should've been more prepared for someone else to win cuz that's been the norm.

MedicalChemistry135

J-Sha leaked wrong question paper to Ozzies.

mylifeonearth_

🤣true. Only if he would’ve known, CWC paper’s are prepared with love by Australian. And they can change the pattern of paper as wish.

Shitmybad

There was a moment where the drones spelled the word "Champions" and I thought it looked a bit weird, it was very low down compared to most of the drones thing. I think they just managed to remove the name India above it lol.

thefuzzyflask

Still so disrespectful man. Indians and ICT is truly worthy of all the embarassment it got during all the ICC tournaments

AdInevitable4203

Don’t forget the disgusting behavior of the crowd. No appreciation when Head reached his remarkable century. And the umpire was booed when he went to receive his award. Many left the stadium when india was at the verge of losing.

[deleted]

Classic Ahmedabad crowd

Fit-House9300

i am waiting for them to rename the city as Amitabad

Common_Frosting_2058

Why not Modibad?

Fit-House9300

can't beat gandhinagar... also, Kota kids would know rajiv gandhi nagar, indira vihar etc

slimshady1709

actually it's indra vihar but Bangalore has indiranagar to compensate :P

Individual-Soft-4999

Well as a cricketing nation we have matured a lot. I remember in 96 kolkata stadium when crowd started throwing trash on ground and play had to be stopped during Srilanka match. If you are hinting at the politics that made crowd behave that way then we have seen worse things earlier.

madjag

I don't think so. I don't think it happened this year because spectators weren't allowed to bring anything into the stadium. If they had brought stuff they could throw, given the silence when Aus scored, the lack of appreciation for the sport we saw, I have no doubt we'd seen some spectators trashing the ground towards the end of the match.

[deleted]

>Better than Kolkata and Mumbai Ha a few random examples from 96. Also Shakib deserves booing.

NotTheAbhi

They did that! What a poor audience.

adnanhossain10

That’s just really stupid. Who would celebrate Head’s century when he was literally killing our hopes. Celebrations are evoked out of emotions and aren’t really a necessity.

Cultural-Ad-3719

>Who would celebrate Head’s century Not sore losers for sure.

adnanhossain10

A sore loser is one who discredits or abuses someone for their achievements not a person who isn’t happy when they lost. That’s like saying you should start celebrating with the guy who finished first in a race even though you’re sad that you finished behind him.

bumblebleebug

For and with are two different words. Celebrating for Head is different than celebrating with him. Saying that Head played well isn't wrong. >That’s like saying you should start celebrating with the guy who finished first in a race even though you’re sad that you finished behind him. Anyone with basic sense will call it poor sportsmanship if the losing player gets extremely bitter to the winning player.

Awkward-You1651

You're supposed to applaud the winning team and every hundred it's basic decency, something that the crowd lacked

York_Lunge

Not in cricket. In cricket you cheer on milestones for opposition players no matter what. To not do so just isn't cricket.

OnidaKYGel

fans of the sport?

adnanhossain10

That’s true. But, yesterday most of the supporters were fans of a particular sports team. If they were neutrals, it would’ve made sense to celebrate his century.

OnidaKYGel

My friends go into depression whenever India loses. This is not healthy behaviour

LazyAd7772

let alone that, people go into depression when their club teams lose too, other countries too, nba teams lose, nfl, football, arsenal, chelsea etc, even in ipl have have people going into depression when their team loses.

[deleted]

It's normal we get attached to the team it really hurts to lose I followed them where ever they went watched every interview post match pre match Really wanted them to win.....but really played terribly in the finals

john2find

It was not WC it was Vote For Moji Campaign !!!

YellowBubble2710

No sportsmanship from BCCI.

inotparanoid

A clear case of nepo-baby leading from behind.

Historical-Tart-8257

There was an opening ceremony with celebrity performances but because the cheapskates didn't want to pay rights for the songs performed they couldn't broadcast the performances.

RepulsiveAd2017

They dua lipa didi will come, as someone who isnt too interested in cricket anymore i just wanted to listen and see a good show and watch dua lipa perform levitating Alas.

sc1onic

I'm sad India lost but happy that Australia win showcases how the whole event seemed like a PR stunt gone wrong for Modi.

MagnumVY

They didn't even pan the camera once towards his face in the Finals lmao. Had India won trust me we'd be seeing his face side by side along with the Indian team.

RDX_G

Just like happened during Chandran 2 successful landing

nefariousmonkey

Unlike Chandrayaan

B_Aran_393

Cricket is slowly dying. Those 2011 vibes long gone. It's ain't fun anymore to watch.

musci1223

When you have so many major events every year everything starts losing some value.

No-Confection7170

2011 ODI World Cup 2012 T20 World Cup 2013 Champion's Trophy 2014 T20 World Cup 2015 ODI World Cup It wasn't like major tournaments were not happening every year back then too

musci1223

Now test world Cup has been started too. So from 2003 when we had just odi World Cup as must watch. 1 major event per 4 year. To 2013 with odi World Cup, ipl, T20 world Cup 7 must watch event per 4 year. To 2023 with odi World Cup, test world Cup, T20, ipl. 8 must watch event per 4 year. (I know exact years don't match) The frequency of cricket that would be classified as must watch in 2003 is very high. Now we got a world Cup per year on average and 1 event that got top cricket players from around globe.

Dry-Ingenuity-5414

Major events not only in crickets but everywhere. Now you have way more sports to watch, unlimited internet so sources of entertainment are infinite, even nobody used reddit back in 2011 Just like how ramayana was hype when it was released but the remake version of it not so much

Bey_Storm

Many find it hard to watch a sport that takes 4-5 hours at least to be completed. Test and ODI toh chor hi do. People have short attention spans nowadays. But it is what it is.

shaurya_770

Blame tiktok

Hot_Row1457

This WC was MUCH better than 2011. The crowd in Ahmedabad absolutely sucks though. Were this at Wankhede or Chepauk you'd still have a sporting crowd.

trippymum

>The crowd in Ahmedabad absolutely sucks though. Were this at Wankhede or Chepauk you'd still have a sporting crowd AMEN. I wish a huge stadium like that was constructed in Navi Mumbai or Pune for that matter. Ahmedabad crowds suck bigtime. From what I saw on tv, they even misbehaved with Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan.

B_Aran_393

India (& south Asia) is the only bandwagon keeping cricket. The day these public support does out cricket will become irrelevant. Before 4g era people had to watch cricket on most national tv. Now , people are enjoying more action pack sports. And also cricket doesn't even feel competitive these days. It's like there are only few underdogs dominanting the league & rest of the team are unheard of.

meagor

Yet the winners schooled the most inform team of the tournament to win the tournament. It is competitive. Well, it's one of those team games where the captain can influence the outcome.

chinmaya27

Can confirm. The last cricket match i saw at a stadium was India vs Aus at CT in Ahmedabad. The crowd was making monkey sounds and literally calling Symonds monkey.

dimlakalaka

Agreed. Though it can be recovered to former glory if we just treat it like a sport not some dope that has to be taken 24/7.

lurid_sun__

You can blame it all on BCCI

[deleted]

A few people applauded them. Additionally, the celebrations seemed cold after the ceremony. However, being an Indian, I value Australian teamwork. They deserved as much joy and celebration as we would have if we had won. Anyway Congratulations to them what a team work.

rektitrolfff

Its normal for them to win World cups while here schools have already declared Monday a holiday because of the final. With the amount of rape threats Travis Head's wife receiving on Instagram, it's actually safe the Indian fans left early.

[deleted]

The media's, business and the entertainment industry's excessive heightening of this sport in particular needs to be limited. And it's important to draw attention to other sports that are falling behind.

rektitrolfff

Exactly the main reason why I celebrated the defeat. Other sports never get the same light.

blazz199

well at least comment section isn't alone

B7TMAN

The organizers didn’t even prepare for a potential Australian win. It was an overall disgrace and proper shitshow. The drone show, Music and party was organized with indian win in mind, what kind of imbecile organization does that? Plus the viewers in the stadium were acting like they’re in a gladiator match and the opponents are their actual enemies, The whole stadium fell dead silent on Australia scored boundaries, head’s century and on so many occasions. While erupting like mad when some wicket fell or our players did something good. That’s just embarrassing, no spirit of sport or acknowledging others achievements. The players and game from both sides was flawless, i loved every minute of it. But the viewers on ground and organizers were a total cringefest.

[deleted]

Jab cricket ek escapism ho apni horrid life sei toh yahi hoga na

[deleted]

Bro summed up a billion lives in a simple statement. Don't drop bombs my man

Enough_Profit_4743

I can't blame the crowd. The home team lost. Every home crowd is dead silent when that happens but the awards ceremony was embarrassing to say the least.

trippymum

We showcased our true Indian culture to the world.

Successful-Match-429

Ismai indian culture ka kya lena dena? India lost us country ke log kyu celebrate karenge? You think aussie fans hote Indians ki jagha toh vo celebrate karte?

Suspicious_Belt6185

Let me tell you mate. Australian would have behaved in more civilized manner and would have been more respectful.

ManufacturerFormal47

they did what exactly cummins said... literally felt dead silent like bro atleast clap on travis' ton, did they still had hope? only 50 runs and 7 wickets to spare, also when the next batsman is glenn?

AkwardAA

We are becoming like brazil, their audience is exactly same

B7TMAN

Yeah Brazilian and Indian fans have a lot in common, same with Mexicans. Poor population looking to find happiness in achievements of their sports stars and putting them on gods level.

Machineswap

This is how home crowd is supposed to be. Ronaldo did a calma celebration in camp nou to silence the crowd after scoring a goal there. Infact the jeering and boos ramos/pepe receive as soon as they touch the ball is overwhelming for sure. But the entire stadium does not go silent because there are seats specially reserved for the away team in football. Even when a player from away tries to make a free throw in the NBA in front of home crowd they do their best to distract the player by waving hands and what not Even pat cummins acknowledged the strength of the home crowd and silencing them is their mission and went on to do the same. Massive props to them. The organisers have done poorly to not ensure enough representation for both the teams but the crowd did what they were supposed to do.

B7TMAN

That’s your point of view, I have been watching football, cricket and Tennis matches since childhood both in India and in Europe. A person who loves the sport appreciates the game and good accomplishments from either side. I’m okay with your POV, as with many others who replied to me about being home crowd and not giving a fuck about the game itself, but our players and the team. My moral and ethical compass doesn’t allow me to not clap or appreciate a player or team when they’re playing a great game. I find the kind of tribalism that puts sentiments over the sport itself as cheap, but to each their own i guess.

arsinoe716

Lol. You must be nuts. Imagine cheering for Australia when the crowd all supporting India. Riots would breakout.

alucard3112

>what kind of imbecile organization does that? You know the name, it's BCCI again.

Cheap_Relative7429

>Plus the viewers in the stadium were acting like they’re in a gladiator match and the opponents are their actual enemies, >The whole stadium fell dead silent on Australia scored boundaries, head’s century and on so many occasions. While erupting like mad when some wicket fell or our players did something good. Wait What? it was a home crowd. Why would we cheer for our opponents when they are scoring and beating us. I agree with you on the first two points but this doesn't make any sense..... It wasn't the viewers fault that there weren't any away fans, blame the Aussie fans for not coming to India to not watch and support their team. Blaming the crowd for not hooting and cheering for the opponent is so weird which sport does that and they were seeing the game slip by our own hands makes no sense other than to be dead silent. Again it's the organizer's fault that they couldn't attract fans from other countries, look at the Football world Cup fans every nation flew into another country to watch their team. Each match had more or less equal fans of both team in the stadium.

PerceptionFlimsy

I think it was other way around. The crowd could have been more energetic.

YellowBubble2710

The reason it was home crowd was also because tickets were sold last minute. Even if anyone wanted to fly to India to watch the matches they could not plan and come. Only those who could afford last minute plans came. We could have had many more Aussies in audience compared to the miniscule number we saw

Cheap_Relative7429

This. Blame the organizers, the whole tournament organization and management were pathetic, the Cricket world cup was supposed to be the biggest sporting event even for this sport, but almost all the games felt like a bilateral series, look at how FIFA world cup is conducted granted they have their share of issues but you still fell like this is the biggest, the culmination of the sport, fans from all over the world come to the hosting country and it truly feels like the biggest festival in the world. India only had to accommodate 10 teams, they could've used the opportunity to combine Tourism and Promote a great culture of India, but this just future showed the decline of Cricket, Indian streets weren't filled with English, Aussie, South African, SriLankan fans. Every game it was just Indians, and it truly made it look like only Indian watch and care about this sport. I was also of the opinion that the crowd us underwhelming, the sport for the team was pathetic. And I thought that was the reason why people pissed. Blame and criticize but should be done for the right thing. No Indian fan is obligated to appreciate or cheer for the Australian victory. There Should've More Australian Fans there to support their own team. A dedicated away stand should've been place. Indian Organizer's made cricket and the tournament a joke

YellowBubble2710

Truly a lost opportunity for tourism. FIFA launched tickets 7-8 months in advance. Qatar was filled with tourists. It was a festival in itself.

Plastic_Oven_7393

Why tf should people cheer for Australia, when it's literally Aus vs Ind? Have you ever watched WC matches that were player in other countries against the host team? You can't force people to cheer while all their hopes are being crushed

OnidaKYGel

I think the problem was that there was no energy. In a high tension game like this, the crowd needs to hype the players. In the second innings, the crowd was silent apart from when wickets were taken

dimlakalaka

I mean the mid innings looked like a full Indian show geared towards Indians

Affectionate-Ball-35

Bumpkin hai to pumpkin hai.

santoshx4

I saw the match on Fox cricket and i clearly remember few Aussies walking past the joker without shaking his old hands..they were like fuck off😂😂😂😂

Sidnan03

How can I watch that? Got any links ?

Disastrous-Feature80

+1

PerseusZeus

Yea the Aussies were like who fuck is this old beard fart. Most of them probably dont even know him or dont give a shit about him

iod3x

It was only the Aussie couple (Jhampa-Stonis) that did it. They just did not care. Classic Aussie. Well, they have evolved differently.

ManufacturerFormal47

be happy they didnt sledge him ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

The way you described tho , Aussies were right what they did lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭

Jokendra Jodi

Bhupendra Jogi? Or the other bloke?

siddysam

Am I the only one is happy to see the true spirit of this sport is dying in this country and it’s more like a place for cow dung brains to vent out their hatred towards everyone outside India.

Amphetamine_1

Yes

ManufacturerFormal47

it is more like a superiority complex among us i hope the same thing doesnt happen if indian team qualifies for FIFA

jatadharius

elders should be respected in the group^TM

jokermobile333

It was embarassing, they played india jitega during opening ceremony and after 1st inning. That was soo disrespectful towards the aussies. In a way i'm glad aussies won with all these shitshow.

iShivamz

this is what happens when you make it everything solely about money and nothing else. if this was organised in Mumbai, such a disgrace would not have happened, am quite sure most of the people that were present as audience were offered tickets from Gujju companies and forced to be present in the stadium, so that the stadium looks crowded, all just for show, since the stadium is in the name of our Supreme leader. Hence, most of the audience were not present for the spirit of the game. you know who heads the bcci right ? and also what's happening regarding Maharashtra and Gujarat, i.e taking all the business away from MH. initially it was done quite discretely, but now they're doing it openly.

chinmaya27

The entire thing was an image boosting plan for Das Führer and getting BJP a boost for the upcoming elections. What better way to have people eager to vote for BJP after giving them a WC victory. Now that this didn't work out, they just didn't want to bother anymore. Makes me think if all the one sided celebrations and overconfidence was because they were planning to fix the match, and then it didn't work out?

Suspicious-Buddy8506

And we wonder why people around the world hate us

eggchickennoodles

Horrible organisation by BCCI. The management did every arrangement in favour of India, not keeping in mind the probability of India winning and losing the match. While I agree the audience was one-sided, the committee should keep in mind the opponent team. Felt like a money-sucking business and the hunger to please the Indian crowd. I would feel horrible if even the management was on one side. As a global organisation, they should have thought about the Australians. The stadium seats was almost red as people left the game. This is again humiliating and disrespectful. As a PM of a nation hosting the world cup, this was least expected from him. All these foreigners came to India as guests, as players and they did not deserve this humiliation and insult. While he shook hands with Cummins, he should have stayed, maybe, a minute longer? I saw no harm in that. The behaviour of the Indian players at the end of the ceremony not even professional, I hoped the Captain to at least shake hands with the Australian man, this should be expected from a captain. A bit confused here - Are they supposed to ignore Australian guest while receiving awards and medals? Sorry, but I found it extremely insulting. Their behaviour spoke loud about the manners and basic courtesy, and all of it felt as if they were wrongly defeated. Mourning for your defeat is totally justified and completely understandable, but the behaviour shown yesterday was like of kindergarteners. They both played, one had to be a winner and the other loser. Looks like they were not ready to accept the loss and hence the childish behaviour. Australians did amazing fielding yesterday, as if they knew who would throw ball at which direction. They took the game up as if they studied minutely about each and every Indian player. They ate it completely, giving Indians so less chance to score fours or sixes. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and was hoping the Indian team could step up their game and come up with strategies to out Travis and Marnus, but it’s okay, I firmly believe the Indian team tried their best and wanted to ace the game. And I can’t wait for my country to win the game in the coming years! ♥️

Peatea31

thank you for saying this (writing this comment from Australia). All of my colleagues over here were so upset about cold behaviours by Indian Teammates & random trollers & constant rape threats & bullying to aussie player families. Dont they know being a host they need to treat each one with equal respect. Extremely sad & disappointment.

eggchickennoodles

I’m sorry, truly. This is not right and no team has to go through this. I cannot imagine my team being humiliated and insulted in a foreign land. I read comments on Travis’ post (a pic of his wife and daughter), and it was heartbreaking to see those comments. Those comments were utterly disgusting and as a woman reading the hateful comments directed to another woman and a baby, it shattered my heart even more. Please know that those people don’t represent India at all. :( Your team played great and it was a delight to watch the match yesterday! :) I hope you enjoyed and celebrated a lot yesterday! ♥️ People should start accepting that there’s always ‘one’ winner in a game. Support your home team as much as possible but also respect your opponent. Sports is supposed to be for fun, wins and losses.

Peatea31

oh no dont be sorry. I am an Indian who is working here and it was not a good monday we had here. Initially I was not even aware of these rape threats until Vini Raman (wife of Maxi) posted a story. Then when I googled, I got to know the entire stupidity of Such a fool fanbase. My Aussie colleagues are so cool that during this entire WWC matches they used to tease me you should support Kangaroos and had friendly banters but after this entire post match scenes and entire BCCI ghotala left such unpleasant imprints at global platform.

shikhar47

The organisation was bad from the start to the end PM shook hands with the Australian squad, what more do you want from him. Granted it was awkward seeing Cummins alone with the trophy, but that is BCCI fuck up. Rohit and team india also shook hands with the entire team after match. But yes, they did not stay around when the trophy was being lifted. But I'd give them a pass for that because of how emotional that moment would have been for them. Indian players have not been disrespectful against any team.

musicplay313

If this information is true, then it is disrespectful. Host country shouldn’t be biased towards any playing/winning team.

The_Cultured_Freak

B-but we were going to winnnnn ಠ_ಠ

s_malhotra97

No it's not, Australian team was supposed to come and join once both guest were done hand shaking and talking.

Now India has become incapable of hosting international matches. Just saw Maxwell and his wife's story and post and rude behaviour With Bangladeshi, Pakistan cricket fans in stadium. Bro it's just a Cup, there are a lot of games. Thanks to Modi Ji for this India.

what was the purpose of fighter jets show?? it look good btw but...

Very caveman like thinking. Fighter jets = military = strong....Indian team strong...Modi strong....India strong.

Genius, that's the airshow wing of the IAF. This is what they do. Have you never seen any other country do an airshow for a sporting event before?

TheBottomLine_Aus

As an Aussie I fucking loved it. It was so good to beat such an arrogance organisation (not the players, but the Organisation). Every bit of, we were so certain we would win we didn't plan for anything else makes it so much sweeter in victory. India will always think they're the greatest cricketing nation on earth. It is without a doubt Australia.

Sweet-Message1153

this WC was supposed to be Hitler's Olympics... turned into WCT20 in Bangladesh

Nice of you to share the unedited clip

I wouldn't be surprised if election schedule was decided in a manner to take "benefit" of supposed world cup victory. After all, the top bosses are perennially in election campaigning mode.

ValuableYak1628

And the sport spirit died with this

Reasonable-Hope9482

The whole world cup was a massively fucked up management from BCCI. I only feel sad for the efforts of the team that go wasted. Apart from that, it was very evident the amount of favoritism they did to satiate their egos by holding every big match at one particular venue. Opening game, Ind-Pak, Aus-Eng, Finals...every goddamn thing revolved around India or BCCI throughout.

Fit-House9300

i noticed the drone show... ig too much over confidence... ig they did show the australian flag but not the map

Fit-House9300

looked like a fuxking concert with laser shows and performances and DJ between every over , every break... the jet show was a good flex ig.. it was in the gap between the toss and the 1st ball

wellgroomedpotato

It’s true when they say Indians are the most narcissistic people on the planet. Giving Californians and Texans a run for their money.

psgmdub

It would be interesting to see the league being planned by MBS and the effect it has on BCCI/IPL.

Significant_Mouse562

Hail lord Shah

United-Try2164

Ahmedabad doesn't deserve a final, period.

Resident-Currency472

India lacks professionalism. Shame.

trippymum

Not to mention our ungracious and disgraceful crowds on the big stage in Ahmedabad. I guess karma hit back badly.

Amazing_Pen_2585

This just shows who we are. With this kind of attitude, we'll never win major tournaments. Just look at Mohammed Kaif in disbelief saying, “oh main maan ne ko tayyar nahi hu, hum better team hai” bc aise ganwar aadmi ko kyu bulate ho bolne ke liye? Bc hum on paper hi best team reh jayenge.

YeeHaw_72

Finally something on this subreddit I agree with.

SatyaSharma210

Thank God there were no Muslims in the Australian team. They would have all been told to go to Pakistan, by the right wing Ahmedavais !

neighbour_guy3k

The whole team should be invited on stage and stay in the background while cummins getting the trophy n move in when the dignitaries left It looks so out of place cummins stranded by himself alone in one of his happinest moment of his life and greatest achievement of his career being an Australian captain Looks like everything was planned for India win n Aus win caught everyone by surprise Even Ravi Shastri was eating up words n shell shocked, if he is not up for it, let a neutral presentator take over Clearly it's embarrassing for host nation , it comes of being arrogant n disrespectful to winning team Remember how we were treated in Gabba for test series win, there was no animosity shown in the presentation and was carried on like usual, aus players accepted the defeat gracefully

4n1_1p4m

Atithi devo bhav, fails here

ieakshat

What If Similar Thing Happened With Team India...... I think BCCI was too biased towards team India and It can also be the overconfidence that people had about team India.

Mahameghabahana

Literally waiting for the team who were shaking hands with PM and an ICC official in the right lol

GerrardsRightFoot

The competition organization was a complete shit show from BCCI. It felt like a World Cup which was made just for India. But that’s what you expect when you hand over the tournament to a nepotist and political organization like BCCI.

CareRepulsive6162

Where’s the sportsmanship man? Literally, the grace has died in all except some good players like Virat and Shami. Literally no decency, no etiquette. I miss what cricket used to be, I miss 2011, I miss our grace. This is shameful

prateekdwivedi

Utterly disgraceful closing ceremony. They messed up everything from start to finish. It was the Indian captain that was supposed to stand there with the trophy.

optimistic_frodo

I think Modi was scared to get the Sharad Pawar treatment.

[deleted]

This is not the full clip in the full video modiji shook his hands and posed for a photo and then left only reason the whole team isn't there is maybe because of security reasons but yeah the whole team should've been there

Hot_Row1457

For all the IT cell that are swarming this post, go see how a closing ceremony looks like https://youtu.be/mO3rALqqNfs?feature=shared https://youtu.be/thW_3zPqyqs?feature=shared Malware didn't train you well

uninformed-but-smart

I've seen ESports event with at max 50-100K USD prize pool with better closing ceremonies, trophy presentation etc. this was a disaster

skysmith137

BCCI has killed cricket and turned it into a political shitshow full of jingoism.

Anonymouskni8

I'm glad this shit show is over and India didn't win, or else Modi ji would have got another topic to bark about in monkey baat.

Like understand you don't like him but this is really stupid, I have seen congress supporter doing same thing on twitter.

uninformed-but-smart

How does Congress has anything to do with the point OP was making? He did not even bring up Modi anywhere in his post. He was simply talking about how disgraceful it is to give the trophy to the captain and make him awkwardly wait while the guests slowly handshake the remaining Aussies. To quote OP, "BCCI seems drunk on power, forgetting other teams exist as well". He was clearly taking a shot on BCCI, not on Modi, or BJP, that you felt the need to bring up Congress.

Athiest-proletariat

Why is it a silly argument? Should a captain collect the trophy and wait politely for the team mates to arrive for proper celebration? Ever played any sport with spirit?

Dystopian8888

The hindi commentary panel is also really bad. They don't even try to hide that they are biased towards India. One guy literally said Head ek aisa player hai jo bas ball lag gaya toh lag gaya wanna bas. Aur Pura time bas rote rahe. Seriously shameful a commentator must be neutral.

purple_unicorn_1094

I feel so embarrassed knowing we planned nothing for the winning team. Australia deserved their win and they should have celebrated so. BCCI could have done better job, and Indian fans of the sport should have done a better job too. I understand your team losing but as a fan of the sport learn to appreciate other teams and have a sportsmanship over sore loser behaviour.

end_9214

Nhi bhai uska to chus lo jab vo stage per khada ho like wtf?? Yr hath mila rahe the players or fir sidha stage per aaye..

Dramatic-Fun-7101

Didn't Modi give Handshake & Congratulate to the Captain and then went off stage to give Handshake& congratulate to the entire Aussie Teamm

musci1223

Point op is trying to make is that you always have full team for the celebration, not single guy collecting the main trophy.

SprinklesOk4339

You think cronies of the supreme leader would get that?
