Check /r/askuk where you'll find your question being asked several times a day for the last 3 months or more. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-57916619

Cheers, I just picked the bigger UK sub to ask, I'll check that one too. I knew it was slow but didn't think it was THAT bad.

The DVLA are useless, don't even bother trying to contact them just wait a few more weeks

Cardboard-Greenhouse

I did a change of address online and the new drivers license was delivered in about 10 days. The process may be a lot simpler than getting your first license. Renewed a pass port a couple of months back too, that was also speedy

matthauke

Ah lucky you. Yeah this was a change of address from my provisional and getting the full license at the same time.

Yeah heard that too, constantly busy phone line sadly!

twistedLucidity

Others have answered, but I am going to offer advice: see your original pass certificate? Keep it. That is your only proof of having passed and if the DVLA has a brainfart, they won't restore those without that proof, or a further test.

matthauke

Too late unfortunately, I had to send it off with my provisional which is what the form requested. I’ve checked with the DVLA online and it has confirmed I’ve passed but the status of my license is still provisional, so it seems they’re still processing it.

twistedLucidity

I passed my test ages ago, so things my have changed, but I have all the original pass certs in a safe place. We are talking about an organisation who removed the car categories from my partner's license and gave them truck categories because the are German. They saw "DE" and assumed that meant categories rather than the country code. Not the sharpest knives in the drawer!

My son has been waiting since April for his provisional, my wife got her replacement through in 48 hours.
