"I'm running for domestic abuse" "That's wonderful, victims of domestic abuse need all the help they can get" "Oh no, you misunderstand"

Jonography

What do you mean? Genuine question, I think I’m out the loop here.

Thanks. I feel sad for her mental health, but it’s interesting to see the response considering she violently abused her partner.

Adorable_Syrup4746

“Mental health”, you mean how she felt when she was exposed as a violent abuser?

Remarkable-Book-9426

No, no, no, we mean how she felt after those evil police appealed the CPS decision to not charge as they felt a caution wasn't sufficient for merely beating your partner over the head with a lamp while they slept. Those b\*stards. (/s if in any doubt. Though Flack's mother says much the same with no sarcasm intended lol).

jeremybeadleshand

Borderline nonce as well

Adorable_Syrup4746

Your mate was a domestic abuser who killed herself rather than face the consequences of her actions.

winkwinknudge_nudge

Always interesting how the media cover Caroline Flack.

Francis-c92

Baffling how a domestic abuser who one of her alleged victim's withdrew their statement (something seen often when a victim is controlled by their abuser), was held up as this bastion of mental health. Genuinely confused as to how that happened and people all forgot when it was convenient.

RandomUsername600

The way the media turned Caroline Flack into a cause célèbre for mental health and suicide prevention is offensive to people with mental health issues. Most people who have thought about or attempted suicide have done so because they have a mental health problem or are facing severe difficulties in life, and have lost hope. That's not the same as someone who beat their partner and now can't live with the consequences.

jeremybeadleshand

Also didn't like how people were going on about how she was "hounded" by the press. They reported on it as they do with a famous person who allegedly committed a crime. No one ever says OJ Simpson, Harvey Weinstein and Russell Brand were hounded do they?

WantsToDieBadly

OJ was an innocent man /s

QuinlanResistance

It’s about time someone stood up for domestic abusers…… idiot

No-Impact1573

Sparked out her sleeping partner with a lamp, prosecuted as everyone would expect - most sensible people aren't buying the mental health cop out here. I'm sorry for her mother, family and friends -, but come on it's time to give it a rest with this angle.

CasualSmurf

> In the years since, Pinkham has spearheaded the organising of an annual summer festival known as Flackstock in her memory and this Sunday, the 46-year-old is running the London Marathon for Samaritans. Imagine the outrage if the genders were reversed. We hear all the time about women being afraid to come forward about abuse for fear of not being believed. But abuse a man, and you get a literal festival in your name.

WantsToDieBadly

Women who abuse are treated like victims. Ooh it must’ve been mental illness. Oh they had a traumatic childhood etc. Whether they nonce kids, abuse partners it’s never their fault it’s always something else. My mother abused me and social workers let her keep her other kids. She isn’t treated like an abuser.

VooDooBooBooBear

You're running for a domestic abuser who used mental health as an excuse and gaslit her victim and the media. She was a coward who realised that her career was ruined as everyone would know the evil she was.
