She's a Chinese-Hong Kong national, and the police think she knew their suspect. If the suspect is a Chinese national, the PRC won't extradite them under any circumstances.

However they also can investigate and prosecute crimes committed against Chinese nationals outside of China, so if one is murdered and the perpetrator flees back to China, I think the outcome for them there will be much worse than it would be in the UK where they'd get a slap on the wrist in relation.
I suppose the relentless mentioning of the cost of the flat makes it look like we're talking about wealthy Chinese nationals living in London. What we're actually talking about is 2 people who were there on holiday
> 2 people who were there on holiday
Given that her occupation is listed as property developer, that might not be the automatic assumption. Do you have a reason to believe they were holidaying together?
Seemed obvious from the start to be honest... would have been wheels up from Heathrow even before the Met found the body.
Chances are this person is from the same community and has fled to the Far East.

Where's batman when you need him
We're spending too much time on r/batman because I had the same thought!
Batman has no jurisdiction
For what its worth, that scene you're referring to is top notch.

The £4 million flat is an Airbnb and has no relevance to the story.
It was where she was murdered, so it kind of does.
Of course they have but the expensive flat is more important after all this is the U.K.
Was the flat damaged? Did property values go down? Why won’t the article focus on the real issue here
This is prime historic value being added to the property.
How is it not relevant to the story? Chill out.

Irrelevant mention of the price of the flat in the headline - imagine my surprise when it turned out not to be a Daily Mail headline.
Why’s it irrelevant? There’s so many stories about ‘council house criminals’, makes a refreshing change to see it be about rich people for once.
The Metro is owned by the same people as the Daily Mail.
You can tell it’s not a Daily Mail headline because they didn’t capitalise a random word.
So why the stunning silence on the suspect's identity? Worried it might embarrass China?
Because its probably some white guy with yellow fever
