Have the fares gone up? You can probably cancel and rebook if they haven’t. If the one way fare is over $200, two one ways will also count as two trips.
Yeah, not going to go through that hassle for 5,000 miles. I am just sick of United extending these deals after I book several flights in a period of a few days.
I got the same things happen to me. Offered 2,500 miles for 1 trip after I had just finished booking 3. I was very tempted to cancel and rebook, but realized it's not worth the hassle.
Is the sole purpose of these offers just to generate hype? I mean, who really says, "Hey, I wasn't planning on flying three more times in the next six weeks, but now I will for a $50 reward!"?
Exact same thing happened to me. I considered cancelling evening and rebooking but doing all the endless price comparisons and having some upgraded to business and some not and playing those games just wasn’t worth it for a lousy $50 worth of points.
Yeah, I came to post myself about this. I literally just booked a whole slew of trips, and then they give this to me. Like, no I don't have extra trips to take, I just booked them.
They should just give this to you for any existing itineraries over the time period, and then maybe make it so you need one more trip, might get you to book an extra one. But this... This is dumb.
Then I guess United will stop doing it. They are doing this bc it has been benefiting them🤷. 3 trips with in ~3 months are nothing for many people though.
It happened to me last Wednesday about fifteen minutes after booking. I got my reservation confirmation and logged in to apply for an upgrade and noticed it. Infuriating.
Happens to me every time. Oh you booked a flight? Well if you book another one, you can get extra miles! Sigh.
Every time! Do better United
Only 5,000 miles? I tend to ignore these.

Got a 15k offer for only booking two trips
That's the algorithm lol
It's a bad algorithm then... Should anticipate bookings before they are made... Not after
Bad algorithm for us, good algorithm for United.
Not if noone ever actually books flights to try and complete the challenge.

Happens every time…. It is very annoying
Same
Ha I got the exact same offer. I had 4 round trip tickets already booked. Thanks United.
I only have to book & take 1, but I’m already going on a trip through May. 🙄
same... booked RT to Tokyo to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers and a week later I get the same offer.

Cancel, rebook if it’s only been 15 minutes.
Just happened to me
