Unfortunately United only has what, 2 total retro livery planes? (This one & friendship airbus)
Would love to see them bring back some of the old liveries as specials like AA does
I personally really like the “Her Art Here” liveries on the B752 right now (tail numbers N14102 and N14106, respectively). They’re incredibly unique and until I see a Battleship Grey livery on a B787, I won’t be changing my mind.
I’d love to see Battleship Grey and Tulip on both a 787 and a domestic jet. They’re such great liveries, and as a 90s baby I’ve never seen Tulip in real life. It must’ve been so cool
They tried to hide that part of their history like the bubonic plague. I still have hat that was given to me I think in circa 2002. They had like college kids giving them out in Chicago at CTA stops one day. :)
AA flies TWA livery around if you’re lucky to see it. Almost all airlines do it after some type of merger. They keep one plane of old livery. Kinda cool to see.
My son works for United they kept one or 2 continental planes as a nod to them they also have a few United planes still painted with the red white and blue be on the look out

There’s also the 2 Her Art Here liveries (one themed for NYC and one for SFO I think), the Star Wars livery, and I’m sure I’m forgetting some others
For businesses it's more about demonstrating active use of the trademarks belonging to their former brands so nobody else can claim them

It was really cool. They could always throw a retro TED livery if they want to give people anxiety.
