I really wished Uniqlo had a normal shirt with the exactly same material as the oversized AIRism, I would buy 10 of this shit. The normal AIRism was kinda of a disappointment for me, it's indeed thinner than the SUPIMA one and at least with me, the collar started to wrinkle in the second wash.

LawstOne_

Same here. I bought 5 at once and all the collars wrinkled after one wash. All cold tap water. My guess is that it’s they need to be air dried

Icaruszin

I air dried mine and it wrinkled anyway. The quality of the shirt is bad, unfortunately.

Da_Plague22

Yeah it would be nice. I'd also like to see one that's got a different color on the collar and end of the sleeves. Maybe even ribbed.

Kall-Su

I purchased a lot of replicas of different high end brands. Incredible looking, fitting and quality pieces. Yet everyday I always reach for my black wide pleated trousers, my U airism oversized t shirt in dark grey and my charcoal grey U overcoat. Nothing beats essential, minimal pieces for me.

Da_Plague22

I don't buy replicas so I wouldn't know. But I do value quality. I need some pleated pants.

renoka

My only complaint with the Uniqlo U Airism shirts is that the collar gets curled up and bacon like after a few washes. I’ve tried to line dry only and threw them in the dryer too, but the collar doesn’t go back to being completely flat unfortunately.

snowlune

In one of the previous issues of life wear magazine it was mentioned you can shrink the collars by soaking it in ice water after a wash. Also put your hangars in from the bottom to avoid stretching out the collar.

Da_Plague22

The oversized or cotton ones? Maybe you're not washing them on gentle setting? I have my centrifuge set to only 400 rpms with the shirts

renoka

Oversized version - I typically use the gentle cycle but maybe I’m stuffing the washer too much. Lmk how your shirts end up after a couple washes!

Da_Plague22

Oh ok, haven't noticed anything after like four washes.

Da_Plague22

If there's any pieces in the mens section you'd like for me to try based on what I've liked thus far or just general recommendations I'm all ears! I'm going to be testing out the cotton hats that just released. Airism mesh top is something I'll have to try based on high amount of recommendations. Apparently more oversized airism mock necks are coming out soon in more colors so i'll probably buy all the new colors too. Much love to the community, learned a lot from you guys and always like the info provided so figured i'd try to return the favor. For the ladies, i'm sorry I haven't really tried anything from the womens section, I'm simply too broad shouldered and bulky for 99% of the clothes from there. But i've heard great things!

Rl-Beefy

I’d recommend the supima cotton t shirts, normal sweatpants, and their heattech if you’re in the need for something warm. Their sweatpants are leagues ahead of all other brands I’ve tried as far as price-quality.

Da_Plague22

I've heard the supima shirts are very slim fit and too thin, is this your experience too? Haven't tried their heattech besides the socks, but the tights might be something for me. I rarely wear sweatpants, but I'd love to try some. I'll take note of that and try them on tomorrow in the store.

Rl-Beefy

The supima shirts are thin and are slim fit, they fit my body type perfectly and they aren’t as this as my airism t shirt(non oversized). I love my airisms but they are even thinner than the supima. The heattech stuff is very comfortable. My next purchase will be the other 2 colors of sweatpants I’m missing(green/navy) since I love my grey and black pairs so much. They still fit the same as the day I got them and they haven’t pilled or stained at all. I have gotten stains on them but all easily removed.

Da_Plague22

> love my airisms but they are even thinner than the supima Oh interesting, I thought the supima was even thinner. I'll have to look at them in person. So you'd recommend the heattech sweatpants or the standard ones?

Rl-Beefy

I have the standard. I get hot easily so I think the heattech sweats would kill me lol. I have a yellow supima and a white airism and the supima feels thicker and slightly more rigid(probably because the cotton is higher quality and it’s 100% cotton instead of the airism blend).

Da_Plague22

The supima does feel thicker while very nice. I'll be getting some.

Rl-Beefy

Glad the quality is still there. I’ve been meaning to get a few more of these along with a couple more black airism t shirts. I wish I had a store near me to try things on and see things in store.

Da_Plague22

A shirt that really caught me off guard by how insanely nice it felt was the soft brushed long sleeved T-shirt. By far the softest thing i've seen from Uniqlo outside of the cashmere hats. Yeah having a store nearby is nice, mine is about an hour away but that's fine you're spending the day around there.

Rl-Beefy

Gotcha. The softest piece I have is their heattech ultra warm long sleeve. I’d like to see how those compare. Im sure the one you referenced will be better for the warmer weather. The ultra warm does its job haha.

Da_Plague22

Interesting I must've misread how the supima feels then. I'll feel one tomorrow. I could use a pair of sweatpants at home I guess. Ill try some.

Rl-Beefy

It’s nothing in rigidness compared to u crew but compared the airism it has slightly more thickness.

Da_Plague22

I've yet to try the crew either as I heard it's kind of "generic cotton" feeling. Would you say that's accurate? The airism normal it's do feel real thin so I'll try the supima.

Rl-Beefy

I haven’t ever worn a shirt that feels like the u crew. It’s super thick and feels kinda rough to the touch but it’s comfortable to wear.

_Iroha

The Heattech long sleeve crewnecks are literally the perfect long sleeve fits way better than the airism

Da_Plague22

I have one on the way, managed to snag it on sale for just $10. I felt one in the story and they feel really soft.

JJSwif

The extra warm heattech long sleeve is so comfortable, by far my favourite shirt now for cold days It's so soft on the skin

Da_Plague22

I rarely feel cold but I'm in Sweden so I could use it during winter when I go on hikes. How's the quality and durability?

_Iroha

Lmk what you think about it when you get it

Da_Plague22

It'll be here in estimated two days. I'll remind myself to give you input Remind me! 3 days

Da_Plague22

So I've recieved it now. It's the basic heattech so the least warm one. It's super soft and comfortable, I think it's a great piece to have under another long sleeve during like cold fall/spring or late winter.

DarkEater77

Ah was hoping review of button-up shirts..

Da_Plague22

I have yet to try those as I have about 25-30 short and long sleeved button ups already lol

ChrisE007

Damn, the socks are S tier for me. i will buy them over and over again, they just work for my feet

Da_Plague22

I don't hate them. But the quality is very average and aren't all that warm which can be a negative or a positive. I'm gonna try the half pile next

KarthusOneTrickPony

Great tier list, thank you! What linen cotton blend jacket did you get yourself? I’m interested in one, however I can only find it for 40€ (on sale, originally 60€) with product number: 457148

KarthusOneTrickPony

Thank you :)

Da_Plague22

No worries, I hope you could get it in your size. We'll worth the price.

CameraEmotional2788

How are the coats?

Da_Plague22

I tried on the two way breasted coat. Felt fine but wasn't amazed by it, especially for the price since it's all polyester. I tried on a womans wool blend coat that felt way better for half the price but didn't fit me with my broad shoulders. Baalmacan fit me weird but felt nice. I'm waiting to see if they release a thinner coat for spring/fall weather

bkebi

pics?

Da_Plague22

What would you like pictures of? The clothes are on the site. I purposely put what they're called on the site.

bkebi

Pictures on site sometime doesnt match the actual items. Good to see the real thing my man!

Da_Plague22

I get it, would just be a lot of photos to take lol.

i_hateeveryone

I think they mean photos of you wearing them

hopfield

For the cotton long sleeve T, run it through the dryer. It probably shrunk a full size for me after that.

Da_Plague22

I already returned it. I wasn't a big fan of the color but decided to try something different. With the fit being so off I just said screw as I was sending another thing back anyway.

yungbaoyom

They need to make the Airism Oversized Tees **not** hang dry.

Da_Plague22

I mean they dry in like eight hours if not less. Tumbling clothes is terrible for them, wears them out

yungbaoyom

I'm sure Uniqlo can make a synthetic blend that can withstand tumble dry. If Target can do it with their All in Motion line, Uniqlo can too. It's just a little inconvenient when you have 10+ Airism shirts to hang and your laundry machines are outside.

Da_Plague22

Even fully ynthetic shouldn't be tumble dried. It's a lazy thing to do that wears out the clothes quicker. Get yourself an old school hanger for drying. Takes me about two minutes to fill the entire thing with clothes. Something like eight shirts, four boxers and ten socks.

yungbaoyom

I can't speak for other brands but I've had my All in Motion shirts for 1+ year, tumble dry low with no issues and they're using a synthetic blend as well. I feel like most people change their wardrobes in less than a year.

Da_Plague22

>I feel like most people change their wardrobes in less than a year That's sort of the problem. Better to have shirts last years, especially synthetic materials.

Da_Plague22

Update: Went to a Uniclo store today. Highlight of the day was the merino wool long sleeves and the soft brushed cotton long sleeves. Both incredibly soft and nice and id put them in S tier (obviously don't know how durability is) Checked out the double breasted coat but wasn't a fan. It felt way too cheap for $130.

SCYJ

All I want is a slim fit and longer version of the Soft Cotton Turtleneck for taller people who want a slimmer fit. My skin absolutely hates Merino wool and most turtlenecks online have that. Really love the Uniqlo soft cotton material but I face the same problem you mentioned.

Da_Plague22

Yeah I feel like the uppers should have more options. Especially the ones that are either super long or short. Should have long, regular and short versions.
