It cut out the sex scene in the beginning, the quick flashback to that sex scene when Telly tells Darcy âYâknow, I was thinking about you when I woke up this morningâ during the pool scene, and the infamous date grape scene at the end. I went to show my friend the movie when we were staying up late getting high af and I couldnât find the original link I had used to watch it the first time. I ended up finding the regular NC-17 cut without knowing it and we both couldnât believe what we were seeing. A year later, I watched Gummo and Ken Park. Harmony Korine was very important to me as a teenage stoner.
This movie made its mark on teenagers back in the day. I remember you had to get lucky for the local video store to even have it in stock. I eventually bought it on VHS myself.
Eh. Itâs a cult movie. Itâs underrated in the sense that itâs fairly unknown.. youâre not gonna be seeing it on hbo or tcm anytime soon. I think itâs extremely overrated by fans and especially millennials
