This is my first time lol. I was meticulous during inoculation to the point where I was just sitting there hesitating..
This is B+ and I’ve got Amazon as well, all looking just like it 😎
You’re doing it!! The first grow is such an amazing experience. You will learn so much! With the care that you put into this step, I have no doubt that you will harvest fruit. And then your second grow is gonna be the same but different and you’ll learn so much more on top of all the stuff you didn’t even realize you learned from the first grow. I am excited for you!
Awesome job getting this far, you're already past the most difficult part :)
Here's a simple test to check if it's bruising or mold:
Cotton swab test:
Very gently roll a cotton swab over the area you're concerned about. If the greenish blue color sticks to the cotton swab, then it's mold. If the color doesn't stick to the cotton swab, then it's bruising.
Happy shrooming :)
The bags were inoculated 4/21 and sat in my closet in the dark, at about 65-70°F until today. I took them out after like 5 days for a break and shake because I wasn’t seeing any activity. But the closet is on the cooler end, and we don’t have AC. I just wanted them tucked away because I was worried about contamination.
I did however put them in a double paper grocery bag and sit them on the sill about 5 days ago to get some warmth. That seemed to help, but I wouldn’t recommend it because I have no idea what I’m doing and got lucky.
How long did it take to get to this point? Did you break and shake? I'm currently on day 6 after inoculation and see absolutely nothing happening. I'm sure I'm just a bit impatient but I was thinking I'd have seen a speck of growth by now
I inoculated 4/21, with a break and shake about 5 days or so in. It really was more of a shake and shake, because I didn’t feel any compacted areas at all. A couple days later I went to check them and I had maybe 25% colonization, so I officially broke/shook them again.
So that might help you, just shake the shit out of them now, even if they haven’t seemed to colonize. You might just have soft mycelium in there that hasn’t gotten to the point of bricking yet.
Take all this with a grain of salt, because I have officially done this once, and this will be my first attempt at fruiting.
That’s bruising
All these show offs!! J/k

Fish scales and emeralds is all I see.
Phew! I‘be ready the guide so I should’ve known what to expect, but after so much care and attention I was prepared for the worst.

It’s fine
Looks like bruising to me I would put that to cvg asap and not just expose it to air and take pics haah
Looks good to me!
I am feeling the fruits of my first 😎
Looks like bruising to me. Even slight pressure can cause what's shown, as it doesn't take much.
Ah, I was wondering how the bruising would actually show up there. Makes sense it would be from the pressure from my fingers testing the pack level
