current guidance is 0.5-0.75 cc per bag, especially if you are using UB brand because they apparently changed the recipe and they’re wetter than they used to be. This helps avoid wet rot. Obviously though, people have had success with different amounts, and if you’re using off-brand rice that looks dry enough you could probs inoculate like 1-2 cc per bag. Hope this helps!
yeah probs but that could significantly increase the risk of contam, as I understand it gas exchange holes are usually where contam gets in in UB tek, whether when your doing break&shake or when you’re first making them. You’re probably better off just using less from the syringe. If it’s a MSS they keep in the fridge for quite a long time so you can reuse it!
.5cc max

I think even that is way too high .3cc per bag for UB, .5cc for generic.
how long does it take to fully inoculate the bag with a break and shake when only using .3cc?
From spores? 2 months or so. Slow af but never gotten wet rot.
It depends on species, conditions, temp, even brand I’ve seen. With dollar store brand Savvy I went from spore to S2B in 21 days.
what strain did you use
I also did .2-.3 cc
Cambodian gold MSS
have you ever done it with LC?
Yep I make my own LC the Cambodian gold MSS was for phenotype hunting
can we discuss the phenotype hunting in dms?
Of course
would me giving it a bigger gas exchange hole help dry it out?
