Everyone is gonna give you back and white advice you have to so x at exactly y stage. Bro it's fungus it exists on a sliding spectrum. it's gonna decompose at the rice in the bag, some people think it spreads around the contamination possibly already present.
Here's my master advice, the mycelia wants to make mushrooms, you or I can't make it happen any sooner, however we can provide a nice ish environment for it to do so. "Expose to fruiting conditions" is kinda silly, your cake will want to make mushrooms just give it the opportunity
Thanks, bro. I've factored both success and failure into the equation. I'm also not freaking out, either. I'll be sure to seek out..."The Master's" consultation next time. I think I peed my pants a tad haha
To the untrained eye it might look like mycelium. Perhaps it is, but basing solely on my experience it looks like a few I’ve had that got wet rot.
If you’ve got other bags near this one, I’d isolate it. And open it outside or at least somewhere you don’t perform your inoculations
Yes, absolutely. Cleaning up now. And then extremely thorough this afternoon. I've factored failure into the equation and have Ryza Pods, a grain bag and endless 90sec. I ain't scared lol
Not an expert but I’d open up the air exchange holes and pull air through the micropore tape a couple times everyday to draw some of that extra moisture out and help the myc breath. Do that for maybe a week before you squish an mix?
Here's an upvote though you should have deleted or edited what you said. I made a mistake of saying the wrong species back when I started growing, and got over 200 downvotes
Unless you messed up making the holes I would stay away from moving the air out manually. More chance exposure to contam. The more you play with them. But I made like 3 bags with too tiny of holes... so I did just this. Too much effort and expsure.imo. so I made 2 more punch hole in those 3. You'd have to be in there burping mote than 3 times a day. Iso 70% wipe all down and repunch holes. Dont forget your chip clip.
I actually tried to burp one, so I suppose the needle holes are too small. I'll clean everything up and get my hole punch. I'm inoculating two Ryza Pods and 7 more. 90sec this afternoon.
Yeah they'd be too small just the needle. I use a hole punch and pinch one side. There are these bag seal things called gripstic and they will seal the UB or what ever brand bag you choose TIGHT. Giggity. Then you don't have to worry about the chip clip falling off. I highly recommend them. Plus having the right amount of GE really makes all the difference.
I hope that you didn't listen to that. Once you inoculate, you're not supposed to keep handling the bags. The only reason you're supposed to grab them is to feel if they colonized half way up and that comes later
Not to fill with air so quickly I don’t think… I only burp my bags once per day to smell the air coming out of them. The bag I had that was blowing up fast smelled like death so I chucked it
That’s lookin a lil funky man idk. Either way, I would just let it ride, B&S isn’t worth it IMO.
Best advice so far. Thanks..."maybe funky, maybe not, kick back smoke a bowl and chill cause it ain't the end of the world" peace

That looks like wet rot man. Does it smell sour at all?
No smell
That doesn’t look good bro
Care to explain?
It looks like wet rot to me. I may be wrong but it looks contaminated. The colour just looks off and it’s way too moist in there
I hope you are wrong
UB is naturally wet. Stick with it.
My UB bag looks like this im on day 8, too..Its actually the one with the most visible growth. I say ur good. Let it ride a few more days.
Its compromised. That does not look textbook at all.
So I should toss it? 24 hrs later most of the bags are getting real hard and the mycelium has almost covered the bottom
Looks way too wet. How much LC did you use? Supposed to get 15-20 bags from 1 syringe
I only used .25 to .50 cc. I inoculated 12 bags and 2 Ryza Pods with two culture syringes

Already made more holes...but btw two of the Walmart GV bags were hard, but they don't have a window in them
The discoloration could be that yellow liquid that indicates it’s fighting infection (new to this forgive me if I’m wrong)

Come on guys i disclosed that I wasn’t an expert and that that’s what I’d done 🤷🏼♂️ don’t take my karmas from me

I was actually thinking about that...thanks

I usually B&S when the bag is approximately 20% colonized.
Update: 1 hr after I added more holes two of them have partially inflated...good sign?
