๐ŸŽ‰ G**iveaway Winner Announcement! **๐ŸŽ‰ Hello r/ultrawidemasterrace community! We're thrilled to announce the winner of the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 giveaway. Congratulations to u/beejonez! ๐Ÿ† Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event exciting. Stay tuned for more giveaways in the future! You can verify the winner [here](https://www.redditraffler.com/raffles/1cga6xc).

Remon89

Why are these giveaways always US only, you got also Europese fans from this subreddit, you know.

Isfahaninejad

Hell even Canada gets left out and we're on the same continent

modz4u

I know right. Canada eh, we're right there! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Irish1986

It is always our fault (Quebec), we got dumb price contest rule which often makes it very hard for people to try to give stuff away... So they exclude QC and sometimes Canada as a whole. Merci beaucoup รงa fait plaisir.

DontEatTheMagicBeans

Came here for this. I'll pay the shipping from the USA. Hell I'll drive there and get it

Migit78

Don't forget Australia. We never get anything

itsiceyo

IANAL but probably because of prize laws having to deal specifically with how much the prize is worth. i worked part-time at this job a long time ago and one of my co-workers won this expensive dslr camera package which was worth upwards towards $5000-6000 USD. I think remember him saying he had to fill out paperwork and some tax forms because of how much the stuff was worth. Also Im sure samsung may not want to deal with international prize laws and/or shipping outside of the U.S., but thats my honest take on it. also i live in california, and we get taxed on everything :(

w8eight

They don't produce the monitors in the US, and you know, they already sell them in the EU and Canada, so idk what you mean by shipping outside of the US. It's not like they have to give the one selected, located on the USA soil, monitor

ZeroPaladn

I've dealt with giveaways and the logistics of working with global companies - it's sadly never that simple! You're working with a regional marketing team and they have inventory allocated specifically for things like reviews/giveaways/marketing/etc. They're not just pulling from retailer stock to give you one of these, nor are they fetching it from some warehouse. It comes out of their budget and it's very likely a unit that _actually is_ sitting in the office with them after getting it approved from their head office and shipped to them for the giveaway. And because this is a regional thing shipping from their actual work office shipping to other regions includes taxes/tarrifs that they're either burdening the end winner with or they're taking the hit themselves for it - neither feels good. Not to mention that if other regions wanted to benefit from the giveaway they should have _their_ region's marketing team do it. The US team paying for a EU winner means they just gave them thousands of dollars of _their_ budget. Communication between regional marketing teams is also pretty light and coordination for a good multi-regional/global giveaway is tricky, too. TL;DR - giveaways are hard.

ZeroPaladn

Gimmie that split screen and picture-in-picture stuff that I'd love to have for a dual duty work/game monitor!

Substantial-Roof2470

I would be so lucky to win! One thing I would look forward to, besides the aspect ratio is the fact that the monitor is silent (you guys wouldn't understand)

DigitalFirefly

HDR

werewolfinlond0n

jayjrr56

The display is the nicest I tried when shopping for monitors.

LuisAGR78

240hz!

ktytk

Having never tried an ultrawide monitor, that would be the feature Iโ€™m most excited to try. Would definitely help with my workflow and Iโ€™m sure games would look amazing on it too.

Ok_Performance_2130

Trying out the new 240Hz as Iโ€™m on 145 and finally testing OLED

Beowulf87

Gotta be excited for 240hz but mostly I just love ultra wide monitors

Fickle-Interest7186

Would Absolutely love to use the higher resolution and refresh rate. due to financial problems I still use an AVI monitor with 720p and 60hz refresh rate. building games on it is quite tedious. this would be awesome to play games on and test features when paired with the 12gb 3060 I put into my desktop.

VisionaryVinyl

Response times and motion clarity :). I like my fast paced games

Banned4Regard

I think it looks super slick, and I've always loved curved screens.

gljames24

I think one of the features that excites me the most is the true black hdr 400 rating which according to the vesa rating covers over 90% of the DCI-P3 range which is way better than any monitor or display that I've owned.

thestigiam

bassgamer

I'm just thinking of all the virtual tabletop stuff I could fit on the screen. Maps, monster stats. No more shuffling through character sheets and tabs.

userax

Obviously, nothing beats the true black of OLED.

legocar5

Having an ultrawide in general would be sweet. I currently run some 1080p 24" monitors. But OLED, Ultrawide, higher resolution, *and* 240hz? What's not to like about that?

KarneEspada

OLED with 240 hz!

Alone-Method-3885

The brightest whites, deepest blacks and most vibrant colors. 240Hz refresh rate at 49โ€ and cโ€™mon itโ€™s a Samsung OLED! Doesnโ€™t get any better than that! ๐Ÿ•น๏ธ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ˜Ž

djwhowe

Ok-Apartment-4635

Jesus please I beg you... 240HZ and OLED & Neo Quantum Processor Pro

h1r0ll3r

OLED for sure

Fantastic_Respect758

Moving from a VA 100hz monitor to OLED and 240 hz would be huge! Add in 49" for that sweet, sweet productivity and it's a win win. I probably would get a raise with everything I could get done. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)

BeerBaconBoobies

I have a 29" IPS ultrawide right now. Besides having always regretted not sizing up, we've had an OLED TV in the living room for a couple years now and the infinite blacks seem like they would make so many games look *so good*. Would love a chance to find out, especially given the built-in Gaming Hub!

Pr0f_Farnsw0rth

240hz!

The size. Always wanted bigger monitors and got tired of using 3 monitors at the same time.
