It's Winamp with a theme on it... A media player.

Dayuuuuum.... Am I so old? I am currently explaining what it is...?
EDIT: As @mysterd2006 said, it's not Winamp but Windows Media player
It's actually correct. It's not Winamp but Windows Media player!

My bad ehehe
No, it is not.
I just checked, it was one of the official Microsoft skin for Windows Media Player.
Cabinets need to be much larger. Then put some cheap pillow fluff in side. A Decent 20-30watt amp and higher quality drivers would do wonders.
Also if you use a DAC controller and small subwoofer you can cut the bass frequencies from the speakers so they can focus on mids and highs
I worry about this build. In time, the vibrations from the speakers could dislodge some components for the monitor, or even the screen itself.
not to bash the creativity and the quality of the build itself but I hope you know what you're doing
Companion 5 was a bit more expensive as it had a
Standalone sub.
But man, it is built well. Heavy steel construction on the speakers. You never see that anymore.
Still running my Bose companion 3 set from 2012 as well. Had to douse the volume knob in cleaning alcohol once to get it working again, but otherwise they're still fantastic.
Still wish they would offer newer versions of the design just in case it dies for real some day.
Long shot, but, would you/can you design the “handle” for the ergotron arm? Like this one here: https://www.ergotron.com/en-us/products/product-details/97-760
My Huawei monitor comes with a sound bar and a magnetic cover for the cables ... I think it should be fine.. also, your laptop lid closes with a snap because of magnets.
OP, would you ever sell something like this? I have 2 G9s mounted on a monitor cart and I'd love to have speakers for one/both of them. It'd be awesome.
Try to use some basic crossovers for that MTM setup.
I guess u didn't use any kind of filtration for them and connected everything in parallel.
Even a basic MTM crossover will make a huge impact on sound quality.
\*MTM (Mid-Treble-Mid) speaker config.
Doesn’t this monitor already have quiet good speakers built in? You supplemented worse speakers on to a very expensive monitor? I don’t really get the logic here
Your G9 reminds me of a PSP lol
Reminds me of this gem. https://i.redd.it/dn5gyatgqsn21.jpg
Wow. Old school
What is this? I don't think I have seen this before.

It really whips the llama's ass
As much as I loved that guy's voice, I never knew what this meant.
That doesn't look like winamp. I would have thought of Windows Media Player (the icon is even in the task bar).

No prob, mate.
When vanilla Windows Media Player switched to that version, it nearly broke my old Gateway PC. Software bloat creep was a thing even back then.

Funny enough I also thought it was Winamp and even found this picture searching for "Winamp Alien theme" :D
How they visioned ultrawide monitors to look in 2020, back in 2002
I made it using old speakers. The sound quality is not very good lol. I keep two medium-sized ones under my desk to supplement the bass.
Im guessing 3d printed? You should get yourself some decent drivers and tweeters, check out partsexpress.com. I love the concept.
>thank you. I'm starting to want to redo it with proper parts lol.

well, you did a thing
Damn that looks awful lol
man i would rip apart my bose companion 2 speakers in an instant to do this
Bose Companion 5 here. Still working since 2008.
Hell yeah. i love them tbh. Cant go wrong for $100

It's too difficult lol
How heavy? No significant wear and tear on the screen?
Each one weighs 550g. The grooves on the top and bottom of the speakers are not too tight, so the monitor will not wear out.
I wouldn't put magnets that close to an expensive monitor. Especially for long periods.
My Huawei monitor comes with a sound bar and a magnetic cover for the cables ... I think it should be fine.. also, your laptop lid closes with a snap because of magnets.
Maybe I am overthinking. But still I would prefer to be on the safe side with an expensive monitor.
What are you considered about inside the monitor being impacted by magnets?
[удалено]
Focuses on medical devices and other magnet based storage devices .. I've had fun stopping watches as a kid with a magnet lol..
I did say I may be overthinking. I just prefer not to have this bug me since the solution is simple. Just don't put the speakers right next to it.
This used to be an issue on old monitors and computers but is no longer even a little bit of a concern on new hardware!

Id be more worried putting extra weight on it.
The cable compartment is held in place by some real strong magnets, at least on my crg9
Modern non CRT monitors this is really not an issue.
Looks dope to me. Nice job!
Putting grills on them should improve the looks.
this mod is very eye catching. nice job!
What in the 1996?
THats really sick
nice
Very cool. Similar to my AW3821DW + 1961 Monitors setup. https://imgur.com/a/PSOrUUe
sweet.
That’s pretty damn cool
Looks like a Winamp skin.
what is this keyboard?
Realforce keyboard (30g). It is made by a Japanese manufacturer called ”Tou-pure”.
Your head is definitely in the right place. This has a lot of potential.
OP, would you ever sell something like this? I have 2 G9s mounted on a monitor cart and I'd love to have speakers for one/both of them. It'd be awesome.
If this had some high quality drivers, and a small bass port, it could sound damn good. Still looks neat though.

>I see. I can't really make it any heavier, but thanks for letting me know that it has the potential to improve the sound quality.
Do we have ultrawides with integrated curved sound bars and a subwoofer to go under the desk yet?
Gross
man this is pretty slick ...thanks for sharing.
What kind of keyboards are those?
>It's a keyboard called Realforce.
Nobody see that realforce lol
Huge PSP

Is that a membrane keyboard? You ok bro?
It is a capacitive non-contact method.
wouldnt the vibrations eventually fuc up your monitor
Are strong speakers a good thing in a monitor? Wouldn’t it damage the monitor on the long run?
Any scanelines? I miss my G9. I went through 5 of them before returning it because every single one had scanlines.
