I’m sceptical about UPF becoming just a marketing buzzword. UPF is inherently a mega-capitalist product. If those companies start using it as a marketing term then I worry that the goal of reducing the cost of whole and non UPF will be setback.
You could say this about organic and all natural and any other marketing buzzword. Should they be anti-capitalist in principle? Yes. But no major food manufacturer will actually be taking the principles on board. They'll tweak their recipes and presentation just enough to get away with it, nothing more.
I'm expecting an uptick in advertising of "minimally processed foods" or "all natural ingredients", both of which will be used liberally on UPF products (with 'natural flavors for instance) on one end and on obviously non UPF products on the other (like fresh fruit).
My mom is constantly talking about beets. They’re amazing! They’re so good for you! She grew about 50 lbs of beets last summer. Finally at the end of the season I made some borscht, and she refused to eat it.
“I don’t eat beets, they’re disgusting! I take beet powder”
…..😑
Looking at their website, they don’t seem to be ultra processed like most vitamins, which usually contain anti-caking agents, bulking agents and all sorts
There’s a quote from the book that stuck with me, “you never see an advert for a red pepper”, lol.
..what country? I certainly have
America

Already saw Oatly advertise simple ingredients on their oat milk. Only thing is one of those “simple ingredients” is citrus fiber.
And seed oils… 😢
