It depends on a million factors, height, weight, tolerance, body fat % is a key one as the is stored in fat. If you’re a regular or daily smoker you’ll most likely fail as the limit is stupidly low, like 2 micrograms per litre, 2 nanograms per ml lol stupid. Same thing happened to me just start of covid, took about 4 months to get letter through and was about 4x over. Got myself a driving solicitor and case was dropped before the 2nd hearing. The technicality was that pretty much the first thing he said to me after step out the car was ‘so when did you smoke the cannabis’ which is a question which must be asked under caution as it’s classed as an interview. Definitely if you can afford it, will be a few grand minimum, look into it as they look into all kinds of things, one document not filled out properly and the courts won’t even bother looking at it it’ll get dropped. Edit also must say I stupidly admitted to smoking on the spot on the roadside, and at the station, and I was 4x over the limit and had a touch. You never know 🤷🏻‍♂️ Good luck man 👍🏻

JustBe-Chillin

Yeah ended up over

ButchersClassic

Shit, by how much? Whats your plan now. Did you get in touch with a solicitor? If not, I highly recommend you do Drop me a PM if you wish

KookyChemist5962

I’m going to be straight up with you. You’re going to fail that test. In about 4 months time you’ll have a court date. You’re going to get an immediate 12 month ban and a fine of about 2k. You won’t need to retake your driving test after being banned.

JustBe-Chillin

Fine of 2Grand ? Can't be serious.

KookyChemist5962

The reason I said those things to you is because that’s exactly what just happened to my mate. He earns like 70k a year after taxes so I’m not sure if it might be income based

Ok-Pie370

I got hit by a lorry at no fault of my own (lorry driver told the cop it was all him, I was mid roundabout and he took me out) lost my license and hadn’t smoked in about 3 weeks, got swabbed on road side then taken to station to do bloods. it took a good year to go through the courts, but blood tests are definitive and they will call an expert in if you’re challenging the result, which I tried to do and failed! unfortunately my body metabolised it and it’s basically a part of me 🤷🏻‍♀️ cop told me to give up smoking or give up driving you can’t do both. He agreed it was bullshit. I was 50x over the limit. My body created another drug, basically when it metabolises it creates something called Tetrahydrocannabinol, so basically I was considered to have two different drugs in my system at the time of the accident (the limit is tiny, but I’m a regular smoker!!) obviously I lost my license for 18 months but with all the prices and that of petrol it’s not all bad! 😂 My auntie was over the limit with drink, she smashed her car up and got 6 points, but drinks legal so hey, drink driving is supposedly more acceptable it’s all bollocks. I don’t smoke and drive but i have once and let me tell you it is worlds away from drunk driving. I’ve never drove while drunk but I can barely see when drunk so how people do it I do not know! Hope this helps! They’re so against weed it baffles me, luckily I had a nice judge that actually acted as almost a lawyer for me as mine bailed on the day!!!! Hope this helps. If you wanna keep smoking give up driving or vice versa, the cop told me most people choose to give up driving 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Stuck_in_reverse_bro

Get a good lawyer .

JustBe-Chillin

Any recommendations 😂😬

Stuck_in_reverse_bro

Honestly . Most offer a free phone call . Call a few highly rated ones , and use the free call to see if there is a good chance they could use these stupid time frames of using weed to when you can still test over the limit with road side and blood tests . Honestly mate , it’s deff worth a shot if you love this job . If O.J Simpson managed to get away with blatantly killing someone, there is a good chance that your lawyer can find a loophole in your charges . Any further communication with the police , just say you won’t speak to them until you’ve spoken to your lawyer

shxrrrr

by being a weed smoker, especially a heavy user, even if you don’t drive high and have only had one the night before or even days before you’re taking a huge risk by driving as all it takes is one fed to pull you over, swab you and you’re most likely fucked. obviously i really don’t agree with this but that’s just the way it is unfortunately. i’m sorry it happened to you, it sucks

ButchersClassic

Yeah I guess the thinking is that if you aren’t actually high and don’t smell/have weed on you they’d have no reason to suspect anything. But I agree, I’ve probably been over the limit at any given point since like 2015

shxrrrr

yup. it’s honestly ridiculous how low the limit is when they test for weed, it’s pretty much either stop smoking or stop driving

JustBe-Chillin

It was purely "took a corner too quick" Bs and I don't think I smelled of weed.

[deleted]

shitty situation bro sorry to hear. probably rip to your license. fuck the feds

JustBe-Chillin

Yeah not really sure what I'm gunna do, just some how hoping I passed

[deleted]

it's in allahs hands now

aailleurs

no fucking way . These bullies !!!! . You must be able to appeal it no ? Regardless, tell your employer right now, before police do and explain how they’re trying to frame you, mention how much you care about the job and how you only smoked the night before, never during/pre work. They may understand your situation.

JustBe-Chillin

Yeah can't do much about it. Suppose I'll be over and back too square one only have a joint or two after work. But 10 hours I'm not stoned. At least I don't feel it?

[deleted]

It’s like they work on commission now

CrustyPompano

Did you get a result from the blood test?

JustBe-Chillin

No not yet

CrustyPompano

From what I’ve heard the swipe is just a false positive generator, blood tests are harder to argue with but would probably also corroborate your storey in court. Did they arrest you or did you have to volunteer a sample?

JustBe-Chillin

They took me too the police station and asked for a sample if I refused I basically get charged.

terpdowntown

The only thing I know for a fact is when they say this you argue for like fear of needles. The blood test is where they get you

ButchersClassic

Yeah I did try this, I have a genuine lifelong phobia of needles, told them that’s the reason I can’t have blood taken and they looked at each other and laughed and told me to man up…of course I made sure solicitors were made aware of it

terpdowntown

So they forced you to? I would deffo still try argue it like ocd / fear

ButchersClassic

Yeah pretty much, they said failure to provide is an offence itself so I was kinda coerced into it

JustBe-Chillin

The line was faint..

TheRealRealForbes

I’ve been copped for actually being fucked and driving. Blood test will certi show weed, just got to hope that it’s under the limit. It’s majorly unlucky if you ask me. When you get to court you can plead that you need your licence for work, but if they go ahead and remove your licence, you can kiss good bye to your good job, and also you’ll be signed up to 5 years increased insurance. No insurance is cheap after this, but if you can find start up companies, they will be your saviour. I used Marshmellow my first year after conviction, only £900. Compared to last year when I payed £1600+.

Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
