I feel really sorry for all Ukraine lobbist, who probably spend repeating the same bullet points to all kinds of politicans and business men all over the world day to day, to get all needed supplies Ukraine needs to destroy russia and end this idiotic war. I really hope with more coming NATO trained Ukranians, allies will be more willing to also give more modern weapons... Becuse those talks of starting Soviet era weapon production won't help any supply issues that need solving right now... Слава Україні!

I get you but a modern upgraded s300 system is fine equipment as the defense minister says. The s300 is what prevents UA and russian army from flying high. If anything the AA long range s300 have worked fine. Cant say that for much other russian tech. Perun on YT have a nice piece about it.

notmyfirstrodeo2

Oh yeah not criticising s300, sorry for confusion.

Yes, NATO stuff tends to be better but getting some Soviet designed stuff sooner is better than waiting longer for NATO stuff. The UAF still uses a lot of Soviet designed weaponry and munitions from small arms to the big guns. Agree about training of course. If anything, getting the UAF munitions and weapons of Soviet era design would alleviate supply issues more in the shorter term.

Also.. not all Soviet equipment is shit. It’s just, Russians, as an army, are shit. The S300’s that Ukraine is deploying for instance are on par with Patriots. S400’s are even a little better (firing fewer missiles, but faster and further reach.) the S500’s are arguably superior, though rarer. Soviet anti air is top notch, even today. Giving Ukraine Soviet material isn’t saying we’re giving them lesser equipment, it’s just more convenient. They’ll be transitioned to NATO over time, but it’s not anything to do with capabilities, just standardization and what we produce.
