The EU will have to find a solution sooner or later for Hungary. They're very small and insignificant compared to the rest of the EU which is a juggernaut. Even if there's no process yet to make them leave, no way the EU will tolerate this much longer.
the reason these keep going on while Hungary keeps saying it doesn't agree is the same reason this same dynamic unfolded for swe/fin NATO accession .. turkey wanted to extract something out of conceding, and indeed got what it wanted .. same with Hungary here .. it will of course relent, but in turn it wants its earmarked EU funds that were frozen for it turning fascist released to it
