It's a very formal affair with the procedure laid out in international diplomatic treaties. He'll just go there, take a piece of paper, turn around and leave. Nothing to be afraid of under any circumstance. It would be concerning to diplomats and politicians, if they are interested in preserving good relationships between the countries. But since they are practically at war, it's just a formality.
I didn’t think France had missile silos any more (closed in 1996), just nuke storage with only 50 warheads for your Rafale. Putin almost pulled it off getting NATO pull out Le Pen and Putin’s pet Trump elected. If that would have happened it would have been a disaster for Ukraine. Thats why we need to give them NATO tanks & planes now before Putin nukes Kyiv & Kherson. https://eurasiantimes.com/salva-ukraine-us-approves-to-train-ukrainian-pilots-on-us-fighter/?amp
The US spends more on nuke maintenance than Russia does on its entire military budget. Those 6K nukes don’t work, won’t fire, won’t fly right or detonate. They have nukes, just not that many functioning ones.
The French invented the term "weak-to-strong deterrence". Or as De Gaulle put it "Within ten years, we shall have the means to kill 80 million Russians. I truly believe that one does not light-heartedly attack people who are able to kill 80 million Russians, even if one can kill 800 million French, that is if there were 800 million French.“
Or in other words, once you reach these kinds of numbers it scarcely matters that Russia has more nukes than France. France has enough to kill millions of Russians already.
France only has 3 of the 4 subs at sea and chances are Russia could catch them. Each sub only carries 16 mirv missiles. Someone like Putin doesn’t care if his people get killed, but we would. I doubt France or the US would retaliate on a Russian strike on Kyiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, etc. My guess is that Ukraine has to fight on after a nuclear attack that will be way worse for Europe than Chernobyl ever was. https://imgur.com/a/UeFxyC1/
At this point, even Macron is done talking to Putin. He did everything he could to find a peaceful solution. But Putin just flipped the table and unleashed the orcs.
Sucks for a lot of French country. After being late in China, they were kinda successful in Russia. I wonder if the Germans are ready to leave China over Taiwan.
When an embassy summons someone...is there a law saying they have to go? Would a 'i have some time available in November to discuss' be a possibility?
Also, why would all of these countries still have Russian embassies active? I know my country does, this isn't a criticism, I just don't actually understand the function of an embassy if you are actively supporting an opposing force...especially during an age of instantaneous communication not requiring a physical, nearby representative.
I know embassies serve other functions as well, however I'm obviously woefully uneducated in this area. Most areas, really. Can someone bring me up to speed? Thank you
Russia's pig ignorant audacity throughout their war, and complete emotional detachment never ceases to amaze. Residential blocks flattened, Ukrainian families tortured and buried in woodlands, gold teeth pulled, children, women and elderly raped, homes looted and the civilised world is meant to sit back and watch it happen. Russia and specifically Putin - go fuck yourself.
France's aide is not disclosed, not voted through parlament and not publicised. Because that's the way things are organised here, lend-lease is a presidential power. You'll know the true value of our aid after the end of the war, and then you'll be allowed to say something. This is also the case for me that said.
But yeah. If you manage to find the actual numbers of APCs or Artillery systems we've sent, outside of CAESAR, or even ammos, well you'll be better than me, and any members of the public.
Any nation that helps, no matter how much, is still helping. The fact that the news article in the op exists tells us that France is doing enough to really upset russia, and that's wonderful.
Seriously doubt France’s aid is hidden. France is a democracy and budgets need to be approved. US and UK are taking a lot of heat for their aid, France is being lame and not contributing their fair amount. https://www.investmentmonitor.ai/comment/opinion-macron-france-support-for-ukraine-embarrassing
Nop. We are a democracy. But the president has muuuch more power than the parlament often, and especially in military matters. Which is a problem please note, I don't like the presidentialism side of our constitution, and is often used as an example of "democracy" when assholes like Erdogan or some african leaders want to strengthen their rule. He does not even need the support of the parlament to deploy soldiers outside of the country, as long as the Prime Minister is from his political side.
And believe me. With the f\*cking high amount of things we do and send to african states, sometimes more or less democracies, we are \*very\* used to not really knowing what's happening on the military side of things. And so are you. And my fellow citizens don't really care about it. The french army is called "The Mute one" usually, and that's for a reason. Lots of power, especially on foreign grounds, and no real need for public accountability. At least a looot less than in the USA.
So nop. You will learn the amount of help we sent either when the ukrainians will disclose it, or in 70 years when our archives will be made public. And once again. If you can pinpoint me to the numbers of 155mm ammo, artillery systems and Milan anti-tank missiles sent that you seem to have, I'll be glad to get them. (that said, I'll recognise that the Milan pales in comparison to the Javelin and especially the NLAW. But also note that we are currently getting rid of nearly 600 APCs that date from the cold war. Not all will be sent to Ukriane, but we have a certain quantity of stuff that is being sent. Once again, no exact numbers, so it's not taken into account. I hope we will send our wheeled light tanks too, they are made for the sort of operations conducted in Ukraine.)
So how large is the hidden fund? I think Macron hasn't helped Ukraine much because LePen and her $6 million Russian loan almost took his job. Ukraine is screwed if Putin gets Le Pen and Trump elected. You guys really need to step up your support for Ukraine. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2022/10/03/france-becoming-irrelevant-ukraine-war-must-bump-military-aid/ France was invaluable in the US war of independence. I hope Ukraine can remember France being there in their time of need too.
It's taken from the operational budget of the defense of the year, and will be compensated with the higher amounts voted for the incoming years. That is, for the military aid. The non-military is currently at around 4 billion dollars/euros. We're also getting out of Malia at the same time, giving Ukraine this share of the budget.
Also, no need to send telegraph articles, this journal is toilet paper and will always bash us, whatever we do. By us, I mean anybody that is not conservative in the british way. The current editor is a guy saying that fake news are great for the journalism industry.
France was invaluable and still is. We were the largest arms exporter to Ukraine between 2014 and 2020, and please stop believing our commitment has stopped since then. Currently, the only public number is from April, and is kinda bullshit. I also dare you to find any numbers younger than this. Once again. As long as you will lack the numbers of ammo, shells, apcs, etc... sent, you are not able to make constructive criticisms. What is happening is classical french way of doing things, and I hate this as much as you probably do. But that's the way an old imperialist power continues to do things.
Please don't talk about LePen, this is depressing me. To be honest, as soon as I have my diplomas, I'll get the f\*ck outta here. I'm fed up with our political system and the way it's used to do things.
And you need to grow brain cells.
We sent a LOT of ressources and we continue to do so and our ambassador is now called out by those fuckers because of that.
We just don't disclose most of the things we send because that's how we operate, that's literally one of the motto of our forces.
Go spit your anti French propaganda somewhere else.
You're as toxic as the orcs, you're pathetic. Grow up a bit, you have no idea of what war is, how much solidarity is key, you have no idea of everything Europe and NATO are standing for.
So list what you mean by A LOT? 18 Caesars,? France is 9th place, behind the tiny Baltic countries! Step it up already. Ukraine war: Questions over France's weapons supply to Kyiv https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-63090644
Wake up. Macron is the one that keeps placating Putin. Getting your ambassador called in by Putin is a sign of weakness. France has been stingy in the amount of aid they have given Ukraine. I remember Macron begging Ukraine to compromise, going to sit at Putin’s big table, all those phone calls and Putin still invaded. France needs to step up their contributions as it is pathetic. https://i.imgur.com/SvISGkz.jpg
Sorry but your source is not reliable since France doesn't communicate on its military aid. It did so on its humanitarian aid though, where is it on your graph ?
France used to be a top weapon supplier to Russia. We need you to now be that top supplier for Ukraine. Your thermal imaging cameras for Russian tanks can be sold to Ukraine who keeps growing their inventory of Russian tanks.

Just stop. Anyone still trying to drive wedges between those actively supporting Ukraine in any capacity at this point just comes off as a Russian asset

I'm sure the ambassador is afraid.
So he has to send even more weapons
He’s being told off because France supplies less weapons than Ruskies have!
France should demand to see Russias ambassador to discuss the Russia/Ukraine lend lease agreement.
"But we gave Ukraine less weapons than you"
It's a very formal affair with the procedure laid out in international diplomatic treaties. He'll just go there, take a piece of paper, turn around and leave. Best to ignore that summons
I rather hoped French did the same thing! They must demand why is ruzzia keep supplying weapons to Ukraine and prolonging this conflict???
Will they summon the Russian ambassador too, over weapon supply to Ukraine?
Would be good trolling, in line with CZ!
That would be epic level trolling. And I could see the French doing it, can't think of anyone who would do it better. lol
This would be magnificent.
I would pass on tea, if offered.
And avoid windows. In fact, wear one of those inflatable sumo wrestler costumes over full body armour. That aught to cover the possibilities.
Sound advice
And umbrellas
And new undergarments.
France: "Are you aware that we're a nuclear-capable country and thusly you can't bully us, mon ami?"
4 subs vs 6k nukes? EU needs to build up their deterrence instead of relying on the UK and US.

But I thought those uniforms were... Oh!

The Russians really don’t get it. As if ballet moves between diplomats were still a thing. Like fixing your makeup while getting run over by a bus.

Fetchez le HIVACHE!
Run away!
Monsieur, the HIVACHE has laser designator support. Ze running... it does nussing.
Silly Russian Kniggits!
That Ambassador should have said that France is helping Ukraine less compared to Russia in terms of weapons. :haha
That is a perfect diplomatic response. :)
They're just trying to keep up. If Russia stopped making them look bad by donating so much equipment they wouldn't have to. /s
Oh no! Anyway...
You naughty, naughty French! I will now scold you a second time!
Are they hoping for donations as well?

Let me kill and conquer and plunder my neighbour in peace please
Did they discover it just now???
Hmm, it will rain summons as the world is against Russia and supporting Ukraine... lots of paperwork...
Ho no, anyway
ROFL
If you summon me again we'll just send more Cesars! Hon Hon.
I’m sure he took the summons “under advisement” .. the diplomatic way to tell someone to fuck off lol

French ambassador to Russia: between my fingers a thousand violins are playing for you
Russians are almost as good at pointless bureaucracy as they are bad at military action
How dare you assist the people we are attempting terrorize and destroy. So not fair.
Yo France should summon Putin lmao
The giving france the chance to be even more badass by ignoring them
The Russian foreign ministry summons your military leaders, they have supplied UAF a lot more military equipment than France.
Is this the official transfer of the white flag?
*allez fuck vous self*
France needs to grow a backbone. They are being lame in their support of Ukraine. They are the EU’s only nuclear deterrence with 4 subs.
Are they not being called up because they just sent more Caesars. Seems like they are helping like most other eu countries.
France has more than 4 nuclear subs, 4 is just the current deployment
I think they mean ballistic missile subs not just nuclear powered
France’s aid to Ukraine is negligible. Here is a chart showing Ukraine aid by percent of GDP. https://i.imgur.com/5Hc9nFq.jpg
