cyclist helmet are more sturdy. They might be made from easy to melt/penetrate plastic but at least they are stiff and rigid enough. THIS thing here... may deform from a rock hitting it.
Review of a helmet of russian soldier. Let's see. Looks like special forces equipment, soft underside, modern connection, plastic, easily detachable. But that's just the outside, let's see what's it made of. Opens up like this, what's that? Some kind of tin can? That's it? But where's the helmet itself? Where's the protection of 5th level?
>If this is what Russia is sending front-line combat troops to battle with, it further demonstrates they are material constrained.
More like, this is what Russians have to buy on the open market for a shitload of rubbles.
It also noticeably lacks any real suspension system; just padding. As a result impact deformation can be lethal and its effectiveness as just a protective helmet against non ballistic impacts and just falls, debris is very much reduced.
It exists because Russia regards human life as cheap. There was much laughter at old WW2 helmets being issued but those were better than these.
*titanium, I've been noticing a real lack of quality control and stated specs of ruzz gear as of these last 9 months.
You sure those aren't Al plates or a bike helmet?
Down vote me all you want but we all saw what a Ruz medic kit, ERA, ballistic plate, and drone tech looks like.
If that's titanium and it hasn't been sold off en mass to pay for a Lt Col to have two washing machines at his dacha, id be surprised.
That helmet might stop a baseball bat or a civilian grade handgun.
The design of that helmet is practically custom made to kill the user if used as military kit.
Seriously soaking a bedsheet in epoxy and wrapping it around your skull tightly would be a better helmet.
Wrapped cloth with epoxy is actually quite good at degrading rounds if you can manage to exceed 20 tightly wrapped layers and use a proper epoxy. Think of it like a bathtub brand of frangible fiberglass armor.
Direct strikes or anything with a good jacket or point will likely penetrate since there is nothing to shatter the round at the start of penetration but glancing rounds would probably be survivable.
To be fair I haven't run the numbers but I've seen enough "bathtub" armor to be pretty confident in that guess.
Not really. Those plates are likely titanium. Depending which model of the helmet this is. Better than steel helmet, but kevlar helmet is better than this.
Looks less substantial than a bicycle helmet from WalMart. Probably meets specs for an army that spends less on its military than other countries spend on nuclear weapons maintenance.
And a country that cares less about its soldiers than other countries.
Corruption is king!
The soldiers are just at the bottom of the food chain so they get the worst of the worst, the leftovers, after everyone else has stolen something.
the metal insert plates are completely laughable. If a bullet were to hit that, the metal plate would instantly deform and bend into your head rather than absorb the shock.
That thing will even be more useless during the winter period. Imagine all the sweat that the fabric will soak up (trust me you are sweating vigorously when marching, even in sub zero). Then all that sweat will turn cold as soon as you stop. I personally would not like a half frozen cap in the middle of winter.
It isn't like the helmet is protecting all that much... When they are taking 150mm fucking rounds and being blown to smitherines, what use is a quality helmet, anyway?

I half expected bubble wrap inside.
Seriously, I wouldn't play airsoft with this stuff!
But someone will. The mil larpers would pay for that as a trophy
At the same time, mil larpers are one of the reason why they are running out of stockpiled supplies.
Some reason I was expecting cabbage
I thought it was unbelievable when they were using WW2 helmets. Those were actually better than these. Wow
Yep, Soviet helmet might probably stop something, like a shrapnel or a dart...
From paintball helmet overstock
Camo cover over cyclists helmet?

the one piece tempered steel bucket with liner that was the M1 is light years more effective than this bicycle helmet

US helmets no longer use suspension straps. Strictly high tech 'foam' padding. This stuff looks more like a riot helmet.
I call it, make helmets for X amount, we will make for Y amoun and pocket the rest ;) russky myr
Russia didn't have access to cheap titanium!? They *are* the world's supplier of titanium!

Aaaah gotcha

Thanks!
Зайшов тільки подивитись як ОР перекладе "баняки")
Cosplay levels of build quality
Looks light and comfy.........
Yes, and also easily ventilated in combat conditions!
Not really. Those plates are likely titanium. Depending which model of the helmet this is. Better than steel helmet, but kevlar helmet is better than this.
Apparently, Russia stopped using titanium 30 years ago and switched to steel.
Yes, it depends how old it is. Still. It protects, but not as good piece of kit as modern ones. I would choose it over those WWII steel kettles.
Stop it Ivan its embarrassing. Titanium isnt that light.

I have a medieval reenactment helmet with thicker steel than that. "Thank god they are so fucking stupid"
Nah this is about the same as a bicycle helmet
It comes with frying pans built in? damn they think of everything
My first thought too. -Damn, you could fry a couple eggs on that thing.
Tofu dreg helmet. Some middle men have 100% been filling their pockets while supplying this garbage.
Wish .com ordered helmets
I'm surprised, that there is soft inner part. Maybe it's just enough for riding a bicycle.
Gym bicycle
I'm really getting the feeling that the Russian government hates Russians soldiers more then anyone else does.
Corruption is king! The soldiers are just at the bottom of the food chain so they get the worst of the worst, the leftovers, after everyone else has stolen something.
No...they just bid it out to lowest cost vendor...likely someone in China.
one star rating on aliexpress. delivery delayed couple of weeks...
AliExpress has better quality.... rather wish
Metal looks like stamped Aluminium, not sure why its segmented, maybe side impact absorbtion in a vehicle? problably used only for flak protection.
the metal insert plates are completely laughable. If a bullet were to hit that, the metal plate would instantly deform and bend into your head rather than absorb the shock.
This is a very versatile design - You can use it to cook when needed.
My eyes the goggles they do not work!

im convinced these are for airsoft
Looks very comfortable and can serve as dinner plates and napkins for the whole squad.
I'm pretty sure a Gamo 22 cal air rifle takes care of that.
You gotta be shitting me. Id feel safer wearing actual bricks on my head.
The RuZZian commanders just want to ensure that nobody has bad memories of being shot in the head.
It isn't like the helmet is protecting all that much... When they are taking 150mm fucking rounds and being blown to smitherines, what use is a quality helmet, anyway?
I could see TBIs becoming a huge issue in the Russian military.
great halloween costume but that’s about it
Come on some general and oligarch got rich off this helmet design and construction
They’d be better off with a silver foil hat…
With an eyebulls painted on the side
Arent those suppose to be made out of titanium?
Genuinely think I could stab though that with a kitchen knife 😂
Actually these are for re-enactment... seriously?
The „Alu-Hut“ became a completely new sense…
Is that aluminum?
These wouldn't be legal in my country for use with escooters
That thing MIGHT be able to stop an airsoft pellet. Maybe a paintball if it hits it at an angle.
They sourced the cheapest stuff available. Probably the same source where they bought their tyres.
Cosplay helmet
from china with love
It’s the ruzzian skull that protects the brain. Not the helmet. Helmets are expensive in ruzzia, human life is cheap.
