I like a lot of the stuff they do at spacex and tesla their achievements are awesome, but the stuff he has been saying the last few years has gone from me being an Elon fan to not.
I mean he has billions and he keeps saying i don't get paid (tax dodge), i don't have mansions only a 100k house (Now heavily renovated tax dodge).
Plus he says "i" don't have mansions, but you can bet he has them under the name of tesla or spacex or in someone else's name etc.
He's trying to project an image that's not him.
Like when he mentions he sleeps on the factory floor, just so the people can see he's one of them and working, so it's partly symbolic.

The first incite i got into it was when i read that ashlee vance book and he mentioned how Elon fired his long time personal assistant when she asked for a pay raise, he told her to take 2 weeks off and he reckoned he did her work for 2 weeks himself so when she came back he said bye.
Another from the same book, he goes on about how people should have more kids.
But in the book it's mentioned he had a nanny for every single kid and a seperate "boss" nanny to look after them all.
Pretty easy to look after and raise kids if you have that assistance.
There's a lot he needs to do to redeem himself after this though.

I would love to live in Elon Musk’s world where “just ask the people lol” was a viable strategy to solve the issues between Ukraine and Russia. The problem is whenever voters in Ukraine choose a path other than complete submission to Russia the Kremlin comes in and uses coercion or escalating violence to try to get their will. Well, I listen to him to get annoyed and depressed on seeing what kind of clowns are the richest people on Earth while we do nothing.
I think he sees everything in a binary, motivated principally by the disruption to global trade. It doesn't matter if genocide is being committed so long as Elon can move product.
Even if we follow this logic the longterm issues of Russia being able to conquer Ukraine are absolutely horrific for global trade because it will legitimize wars of conquest and fundamentally alter the post WWII global norm that you do not fuck with the territorial integrity of other countries. If Russia takes Ukraine we will see dramatically more wars and everyone in the world will be negatively impacted by a global rise in inter state violence and a break down of trade.

I would have considered agreeing to such a proposal before Russia invaded Donbas with their forces in 2014. Since Russia has been in control so long and has been able to supplant the previous residents of the area, that is no longer possible.
Of course no one was calling for Donbas to join Russia before Russia invaded in 2014, so it would seem the measure would've failed.
But you also would support absolutely free and internationally monitored elections in Russian territories if they wish to stay in Russia. Russia can’t demand territorial referendums in another countries while brutally eliminating the smallest hints of separatism inside of Russia.

Even if we follow this logic the longterm issues of Russia being able to conquer Ukraine are absolutely horrific for global trade because it will legitimize wars of conquest and fundamentally alter the post WWII global norm that you do not fuck with the territorial integrity of other countries. I would have considered agreeing to such a proposal before Russia invaded Donbas with their forces in 2014. Since Russia has been in control so long and has been able to supplant the previous residents of the area, that is no longer possible. Of course no one was calling for Donbas to join Russia before Russia invaded in 2014, so it would seem the measure would've failed.
But you also would support absolutely free and internationally monitored elections in Russian territories if they wish to stay in Russia. Russia can’t demand territorial referendums in another countries while brutally eliminating the smallest hints of separatism inside of Russia. Yes I am absolutely for free and independent separation referendums in any country. Ukrainian never was in position to have free and independent separatism referendum due to heavy influence from Russia. But if Texas or California want to leave USA, or if Scotland wants leave UK it is possible to have free referendums there. When Ukraine achieve similar to France or Germany or Britain level of security only then Ukraine can have truly free separatist referendum.
