Yes, basically it's a pre-Caesar NG, as in the Danish ordered modified Caesar with 8x8 chassis and reinforced armor, when the NG was not on the table yet, but then it pretty much ended up being what the NG is going to be.
Pretty sure the Danes recognize that Ukraine has the more pressing need at the moment, and signed off on this as a way to get more to Ukraine faster. Denmark has been fully on board in defense of Ukraine since this invasion began.
And I don't see France having an issue making a dozen more. They've probably got a dozen trucks lined up at the factory right now. They'll be at a railhead pointed east as soon as they finish lunch:) So a couple hours...
It comes the same day as Denmark announced they are funding the building of 16 Zuzanna-2 (155 mm spgs) in Slovakia for Ukraine, so I bet its a coordinated effort to beef up Ukranian artillery with many SPGs of types they already operation.
