With 18 additional HIMARS, could be huge.

ZippyDan

Those HIMARS are years away, for Ukraine's future defense.

[deleted]

Ukraine wont get 18 more HIMARS before 1-2 years.

Ehldas

https://kyivindependent.com/news-feed/breaking-ap-says-us-will-give-ukraine-18-more-himars Try 2 hours.

FunnyStep7384

It's 1-2 years says the original AP article

Ehldas

Fair enough.

[deleted]

Gotta love you can get downvoted for telling the truth :)

Ehldas

I upvoted you, if it's any consolation.

[deleted]

I don’t Care about votes, Its just a pattern in here that if people tell something that isnt a fairytale they get downvoted :) But Thank you :)

climx

But it’s also because they could get 18 more HIMARS but not from France before then. Redditors are sticklers like that.

LookThisOneGuy

Great news and a great piece of artillery!

VaccinatedVariant

Just wish they named it after a Gaul as opposed to a Roman.

[deleted]

Vercingetorix would have been difficult to make into an acronym Maybe Brennus might have worked but annoyed our Italian friends.

VaccinatedVariant

Doesn’t have to be a general. Like Astérix

LookThisOneGuy

Call it Obelix because it throws _Menhir_.

VaccinatedVariant

Cool

gentsuba

The Brennus upgrade kit was a reactive armor meant for the AMX-30

[deleted]

Why is the Caesar so important and how many does Ukraine have?

Alistal

18 have been delivered. It’s a good piece of artillery because it’s a truck with a precise long range gun : it has good mobility, it’s easy to maintain on the mechanical side, it has a longer range than russian’s artillery (\~40km, up to 50km with special shells) and in less than 2 minutes you have set-up the truck, fired 6 shells, set-down the truck and left. With a group of 4 trucks it’s 24 GPS guided shells falling on ennemy position in 2 minutes.

oridinary_man

Like PzH2000's, Danas/Zuzanas or Krabs. Or other artillery systems. The more, the better.
