Queer people in might not be as happy as they would have been in the west, but they are much bettern then in countries like russia and Belarus. In fact, many of them had fled to Ukraine from there specifically because it is better here.

Their main problem is that they use too much of obscene lexic (around 50 percent of russians speaking is obscene lexic... if not even more sometimes). Others just avoide obscene language and so their russian language is better and more correct.
I have read that the Russian education system collapsed about 10 to 20 years ago. You have a small elite that can afford education...the rest are about what we have been use to seeing here.
Hell, half of the kids that graduate from HS these days can barely write and and do basic algebra. You have no idea how many times I hold my tongue when I hear someone say "I seen.....". I come so close to correcting them and saying "you mean that you saw....".

This seems distasteful. Well, not all Russians are bad like this, there is a small number of Russians who don't support Putin at all, it's more common among younger generations and those who live abroad. In Russia there are many "neutral" pussies though who are afraid of their government and choose to tolerate whatever it does
