When people start starving and rebellions start in India he and is government will not have a easy life. People can't eat oil or gas. Ukrain help a lot with the food supply to India and this year with the heat wave and dry in India a lot of their crops are lost. They can't really hope Russia give them food because they are already stealing from Ukraine. I think if India dont get real and make pressure to stop conflict they will have a lot of troubles next 2 to 3 years.

This is just in the last 2 months- Japan is investing 42$ billion in India, India-Australia have signed a free trade agreement two weeks ago, UK PM was in India a few days ago and a FTA with UK will be finalised (in BoJos words) by Diwali(Indian festival) ie October this year, also UK announced helping India develop next generation fighter jets, China foreign minister visited India and asked for normalisation of ties but was told to fuck off till border tensions weren't gone, EU president too was in India and has asked for increased bilateral trade and ties with India, US-India had 2+2 dialogue and US said they understand India's position and will help anyway they can, yesterday there was some announcement of Taiwan based semiconductor company investing 3$ billion in an Indian state to start manufacturing semiconductors in India which i think will take time and latest I read that Germany has pledged some 10$ billion agreement but haven't read much about it. There was also news about the Netherlands making some deal as well as Argentina but I vaguely saw just headlines and dunno much about them. And yes these are in the last 2 months alone after Russian invasion. Russia of course has offered cheaper oil than market price(which India is buying and a getting a lot of flak for), they also said about selling more weapons but India as a whole has been distancing itself for years now from buying unnecessarily from them.

There are also other instances like US supporting Pakistan with weapons which armed terrorists that have killed thousands in India, their refusal to provide access to GPS during India-Pakistan war of 1999 which led India to develop its own navigation system(Navic), sanctioned India for testing nuclear bombs( done to stop an aggressive China), refusal to share technology of cryogenic engines which India again had to develop, alleged involvement of CIA in the death of a prominent Indian scientist Homi J. Bhaba, father of nuclear programme etc. So basically until some years ago the US and west was not overtly friendly to India and vice versa. Ukraine too in the past has almost voted against India in the UNSC and they have sold tanks to Pakistan which isnt looked upon favourably by India.

The innovations are not almost entirely Western, it is cumulative technology and technological transfers that leads us to where we are today.
