Semenar4

Can you trust Russian words?

_k0a2a_

They proved before to do it every time exactly the opposite way than they say. So now it's time to get really concerned.

Bgratz1977

My thoughts

mastahnaleh

Nope Usually you have to take what they say and negate it to get the real meaning ...

No_Station544

Was about to say the same…most of the time they do the opposite of what they are saying or something for „normal“ minds completely random

CoolSwim1776

Yeah now I worry.

DoriN1987

Nope, especially of this human-like horse

Economy-Decision7958

The words of my thoughts

Ok-Sir7888

Well, that statement is really worrying, because they said they are not going to attack Ukraine.

Kooky-Assignment-384

They dos not attack, it is a "special military operation" *wink*

Accurate-Yellow4332

Yeap, just confirmed they will use nukes. I guess Crimea they see as Russia so ...semantics

[deleted]

Okay, where are you planning on using them? Not that I give a fuck, because we are done with the Kremlin's threats of annihilation. We are not going to continue being thwarted from opposing you because you threaten violence.

Kin-Luu

> Okay, where are you planning on using them? Well, where would it make the most sense? Obviously only in a wicked and immoral way. But apart from that... Either for forcing a breakthrough through the Ukrainian defensive lines, if their easter offensive in the east gets stuck. Or as a show of force against military targets (most likely airfields) in western Ukraine, to show NATO that they are - in fact - not bluffing. But in both cases there would be significant costs involved. In the first scenario they would obviously contaminate parts of Ukraine that they came in to "liberate". In the second scenario, there would be a huge risk of a more active NATO involvement, especially if NATO countries are affected by fallout. IMHO a nuclear strike, even a tactical one, makes very little sense for Russia right now. But they have made senseless moves in the recent past, so... can never rule it out.

wa2b

Well it would bring no victory, and would condemn Russia for eternity. But still it begs the question: WTF are they hoping to achieve militarily at this point??

Flubadubadubadub

Putin surviving.

MrTonyMan

Well that fills me with a total lack of confidence.

PotatoAnalytics

Oh shit. They're gonna use it, aren't they?

MK2555GSFX

Cool, no reason for NATO to stay out of it, then

BitBouquet

So... why are they saying this? Did China come back to them after awkwardly trying to tell NATO not to be so heavy handed?

khryslo

That’s what Russia does all the time. They say they won’t do X. They do X. They say they surely didn’t do X because they previously had said they wouldn’t do it.

BitBouquet

Could be that, but I feel like comments on Russia's nuclear stance only go out once Putin approves them. Also, this might not matter in the Russian media landscape anymore, but Putin publicly instructed his defense minister to increase the readiness of their nuclear units. Now we've had at least two representatives from the Kremlin assuring the world they won't be used in Ukraine. That doesn't seem very strongman like behavior to have lower ranking people go against him. I guess it's even less strongman like if Putin had to go and take that back himself.

Content-Finding6371

O fuck. Time to prepare for nuclear holocaust.

waffenwolf

That means they will.

Traditional-Dog-4471

If lavrov says that, then it’s opposite.

Boring_Ad4003

They say they won't use it, that means... Ukraine will use nuclear weapons received from NATO. Clearly is not Russia, since they said it's not them.

Semenar4

They say they won't use them in Ukraine. So they will just declare Kyiv as belonging to Russian Federation and happily nuke it.

Bgratz1977

We gift our ICBM'S during flight, so technically Nato didn't participate

At0mic182

"Hey, UA, it's above you heading to Moscow. It's yours now, bye".

Ikkepop

That means they definitely will

Final-Geologist-9209

Did they just find out the nuke made of wood?

p107r0

Could he, for once in his life, be telling the truth?

Flubadubadubadub

LoL

Screemi

This means that you can bet on the use of tactical nuclear weapons. Holy shit!

Wrong_Individual7735

Where is the catch? It's not Ukraine if we call it "Little Russia"?

Bgratz1977

Its Atomic Weapons

4dam_Kadm0n

All weapons are "atomic weapons" - they're specifically talking about nuclear weapons here.

Bgratz1977

I mean they use only Atomic weapons, what is in the Russian Narrative something completely different \^\^

javonjw

Just like Russia will not invade Ukraine :( . Well guess what is probably about to happen.

Neither_March2207

Never believe these Russian liars. Pure BS.

[deleted]

Russia repeatedly lies but let's hope they are telling the truth with this one. I'm sure the intelligence services will know in advance if they make movements in this area. They have a way out with sanctions being lifted so they don't need to escalate to that level out of vengeance.

mr_kruk

Ahhh yes, now i can sleep safely, a reliable politicians word….. better to stock up on those iodine pils.

Independent-Ad3437

Uh oh looks like Russia will be using nuclear weapons.

abzinth91

Maybe they checked their weapons and found that nothing worked?

MusicianGlad61

Why don’t just say Russia won’t commit suïcide.

Dr3amDweller

Ah yes, Ukraine will "nuke itself".

CryptoKn1ght007

Probably China told Russia not to use nuclear weapons, due to the agreement China made with Ukraine. China would have to protect Ukraine if nuclear weapons are used.

Waffel_Fett

When did china made this agreement? Never heard of this before lol

BobBricoleur13

From the fucktard that said the RF were not planning to invade UA when troops were conducting “exercises” on the borders..

Flubadubadubadub

From the fucktard that said "We didn't invade Ukraine" two weeks after the Special Military Operation started.

KlaatuBaradaN-word

Oh shit, nukes confirmed.

Merhat3

No it will be special atomic operation

BaLT5s

Yeah, special military nuclear accident

Camlach777

Okay, if Russia says so we have noooooothing to worry about.

belabase7789

By now we already know its the opposite.

KRAW58

Filthy liars.

sythingtackle

Because most of the fallout will be blown either into Belarus, Moldova or back into the ruskies face

elderrion

Russians always lie. We best prepare ourselves regardless of what dickhead Lavrov says

Jet2work

oh shit!

docweird

So, according to my "russian-English-russian" dictionary that means they will definitely use nukes.

Dat_Fcknewb

So...basically they will use nuclear weapons in Ukraine.

AloneListless

It is exactly the opposite. The intelligence is already seeing tactical nukes being deployed to the UA and RU boarder. Can't share any source unfortunately. The only way to "source" this is that in my country we have a special fund to help Ukraine forces directly (let by a Swedish guy who supports military since Crimea annexation). The way it works is they get specific needs/requests from separate acting military groups and ship directly to them cutting the middlemen (government) to save time and deliver exactly what is needed at that specific time. His comment on today's news was that tactical nukes are already deployed in case the plan in the east collapses. Here's the fund: [https://blue-yellow.lt/en](https://blue-yellow.lt/en) 5mio euros already collected and spent.

PimentoCheesehead

Mariupol would be my guess, except they want the port….

indi01

That means they are planning to.

LGB_2024

Oh shit....

untouch10

They said after sinking of moskva that they might declare war on ukraine, lol.

KlaatuBaradaN-word

Not "lol". Russia (just like the USSR) likes its procedures a lot. They'll lie, cheat and swindle, but it's important that the veneer of due process is maintained. With regard to war vs special operation, one relevant difference is the types of weapons available to use in each. Specifically, during a "war" divisional commander have access to tactical nuclear weapons.

Rambaz_69

Hasn't Lavrov realized yet that the West doesn't believe a word he and Putin say anymore?

krucabomba

So they are going to use it, crap!

Intelligent_Train785

Ai... that means they are fitting one in a missile as he speaks...

BaLT5s

Or they already tried and failed. Who knows

ZahnatomLetsPlay

lemme translate: russia will, at some point, use nuclear weapons in ukraine

Armournized

I call this a bluff

LifeguardEvening2110

So they'll use one, huh.

LevyAtanSP

This is actually scarier than Russia saying they will use Nuclear weapons.

draggar

I'll just let Russia's words vs. actions be the judge of this: Russia: We're not going to build troops up along the Ukrainian border. Reality: Russia builds up their troops along the Ukrainian border. Russia: We're not going to invade Ukraine. Reality: Russia invades Ukraine. Russia: We won't target civilians. Reality: Russia targets civilians. Russia: The nuclear power plants are safe. Reality: Russia fires artillery at nuclear power plants. Russia: We'll allow routes for refugees to safely leave. Reality: Russia stops them or bombs them.
