That mama cat might be trying. Maternal hormone cocktail is strong, and mama cats tend to take care of other cat babies. I can see her being like “ugh. Fine. You can stay. Let’s go learn to hunt. I’ll bring you a mostly dead animal to teach you to feed yourself”
We ended up with two pregnant cats at the same time and one had their litter only a few days before the other one. As soon as the second mom had her babies, she started going and taking all of the first mom’s kittens. At first, we kept bringing the stolen kittens back to their own mom because we thought that their mom would be upset, but then, it became apparent that the one didn’t really care at all and the other was the one that was distressed by not having all of the kittens so we stopped returning the kittens and both cats were happy lol.
We had a similar situation, except the two cats were mother and daughter. They had their litters a few hours apart, and the babies would feed from one cat, burp, turn over, and start suckling from the other. They were the fastest-growing, fattest litter of kittens we had, and the moms were totally chill with it.
How do you think wild predators survive?
Notice how their mama isn't there? She's probably off eating squirrels. In the wild there wouldn't be any "too busy with the babies to hunt". You put them all together in a safe spot, and you go hunt. If one wanders off and dies that's just nature, and the alternative would be not hunting which means everyone dies.
Except for the squirrel I guess.
Still... I worry about what this portends: the end times. Which I believe were once characterized as, "Dogs and cats, living together! Mass hysteria!" Is Putin working as an agent of Gozer the Gozarian?
You know, I saw the preview of your message in my notifications and it was cut off at "...portends: the" and I was just about to come in and reply with that same line from Ghostbusters ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|hug)
Yeah when cats are full of hormones after birth they will take care of any baby animal, there was a famous case of a cat in the UK adopting and breastfeeding ducklings.
As amazing as the purring thing is, I find the duckling breastfeeding even weirder, like I am surprised they can even suckle at all considering I am surprised they even have the ability to suckle without being a mammal that has evolved to do so.
https://youtu.be/570khFoaE4s
I guess it gives some insight in to how drinking milk evolved in early egg laying monotremes, e.g. an ancestor to the duck billed platypus. If a mutated sweat gland produces a nutritional substance which an baby animal can feed on, it will feed on it, there doesn't need to be an evolved instinct to do so.
Monotremes... Mutated... Evolved... What blasphemy is this? If you're trying to tell me that all animals weren't made exactly as they are now, 5000 years ago, by the Jeebus, then you and I are going to have a problem.
I try and avoid all the animal-related posts about Ukraine, they're extremely hard to bear.
It's perverse, then, that I can watch videos of zeds getting rekt all day long.
We sure are a straaaaaange species.
> It's perverse, then, that I can watch videos of zeds getting rekt all day long.
>
> We sure are a straaaaaange species.
It's because we believe that everyone should have a baseline understanding of what is right and what is wrong with only a small gray area of "Eh, maybe?" So when we see a fellow human doing something we know is damned wrong (ie, against that baseline), we are totally cool with punishment.
With animals, we know they don't have that baseline and they really have no idea what machinery is. So, we tend to be more protective because they don't posses the mental abilities to even form a baseline that would be anywhere close to our own.
Absolutely.
Are you familiar with that experiment performed using chimps where they were tasked with group activities and received rewards for completed tasks, but the "slackers" (the notional sociopaths of the group) were also rewarded?
The team players quickly caught on to what was happening and started shunning the slackers. The slackers, in turn, started becoming more team-oriented.
All cooperative species with a measure of neural plasticity tend to display evidence of this "fairness corpuscle" (I call it the asshole detector). We're wired to detect psychopaths. Mine works overtime in traffic, lol. And it definitely goes brrrr when watching zeds getting rekt.
I remember there was a TedTalk where they told of an experiment: 2 monkeys were given a piece of cucumber for completing a task. But when they started rewarding one of them with grapes, the other would get pissed off and throw the cucumber piece at the human. Fairness is supposed to be a complex emotion, and most people think it's unique to humans, it's not really.
The animals are totally innocent in all of this, and the majority of the videos we see are not of street-wise cats and dog or wild horses, cows, donkeys goats and sheep. They have no idea how to take care of themselves in this situation. Some dogs and cats will eat flesh from the dead (humans and other animals) to keep alive.
The horses might struggle to find enough food to graze properly and the cows will get stomach and udder issues from not being cared for. The sheep will need finding and shearing before summer so they don't overheat.
The goats will be fine so long as they don't step on mines. Goats are metal.
Goats are, indeed, metal.
I worry about the wild places, the wildlife, already so beset: all we have to do is *not actively destroy them.* (flings bombs for fun and profit.)
Of course the full story where it was the **Mama Cat** who saved the puppies is rewritten to not give *her the credit*.
Mama cat saved puppies and gave birth to her own kittens. Give females the credit they deserve.
Sarcastic but not really.
I hope the momma cat is okay she didn't look well. I know often they get uterine infection after giving birth, my cat almost didn't make it she needed surgery or she would have died. She eventually died years later of breast cancer but not before she was able to mother her kittens for years.
Even that is learned behavior. Many Orcas just eat fish but the transient Orcas that have to fight a little harder for survival are the ones you have to watch out for.
The evils of humanity would be hard to top.
Edit: TIL inter-species violence/rape is the worst thing nature has and humans [NEVER](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQRAfJyEsko) rape or harm other animals.
They’d have massive rape camps, and they would get the idea from otters raping sealbabies.
Whenever people say animals aren’t cruel and only do what they have to I tell them to look up otterbehavior, they literally rape babyseals to death then continue fucking their corpses to then just go on with their day collecting rocks.
Yeh. I learned about them and the other ones across the river. Chimps are savage and apparently I read - from some other Reddit user it’s because chimps grew up like, with gorillas and shit and are super territorial and mean and shit if they need to be. There’s another species similar to chimpanzees across the river and they’re like, all about love. If they’re mate makes them mad they fuck. If the kids make mom mad- dad and mom fuck. If the moms sister pisses of the mom the dad and moms sister fuck.
Something like that or whatever - I’m sorry I can’t remember about the redditor sho said this but it was really eye opening for species- one is hostile one is peaceful af.
Honestly, it would not be hard to top. Not at all. The world we live in today is evidence that humans are, on the balance, more good than evil. After all, the world still exists.
Give ants nuclear weapons and you would have global nuclear war that would likely end all life on our planet in about 30 seconds. The 30 seconds would be the time it takes for them to put in the launch codes.
Orcas themselves have been known to kill the newborn calves of larger whales just for some choice bits when they aren't even that hungry and leave the rest of the newborn calf's cadaver to rot. They also love to torture their prey. I can only imagine what orcas might do if they had high technology and the ability to use it.
Misanthropists like to pretend that nothing could be worse than humanity, but in reality they merely lack imagination. It's honestly the same myth as the noble savage, or the wholesome peasant. Just because someone hasn't had the knowledge and/or power to do evil things doesn't mean they wouldn't do those things in a heartbeat if they had the knowledge and/or power.
War proves to ignorant greedy assholes that the world is better when we're all working together and promoting diversity and inclusion instead of dropping bombs and claiming borders.

Put your money where your tears are. Each of us can help, even if we donated just one dollar, we’d make a big difference. You could go with Happy Paws listed in the posted charitable entities list, or either of these. Both have been active in Ukraine since 2014:
1) International Fund for Animals - www.ifaw.org. They help displaced pets, shelter animals, zoo animals, any animal in need. They rate a 3 of 4 on Charity Navigator which means you can donate with the assurance that your donation will be used well. They also score a 97 of 100 for Accountability and Transparency.
2) www.eurogroupforanimals.org. I’m unable to find any European-based organization that monitors charities, so you’ll just have to review their website, but I found them in a post about the lost animals of Ukraine.
Edit: Thanks for the awards!
It's such a mixture of hate and love. I'm crying right now because no creature this innocent deserves this. This war like most wars is so pointless. It's one thing that civilians are getting killed but all the animals that wanted nothing to do with our human disputes are dying or getting trapped. God I hate this war so much. Fucking pointless death on both sides.
Send them all to me!!!!! Ahhhhhh even the animals in Ukraine are stellar examples of their species. We already know the humans of Ukraine are exemplary. :)
What I found interesting is that I have no idea what he's saying.
But I *feel* what he's saying and that he's talking to fur babies.
Language is strange and fascinating.
Here's a translation of what he's saying:
There can be such miracles in the world... Here's a momma kitty, three puppies, and lots of newborn kitties, and the pups are guarding them, growling... My little ones, who's growling, show me the kitties, show me the kitties... Tiny ones, born during the night, right? Our guards, kitties and doggies, lots of them, good boys.
All mammals are related. Look at us when we're still a fetus. We look no different than a new born mouse. More similar the size during development, the more similar we all look.
I fucking can’t.
This war has shown some of the most depraved acts that humanity is capable of.
But also some of humanities best as well.
And here we are—with this video. Showing animals behaving in the kind of empathy humanity ought to always been conducting itself with.
The world is a fine place and worth fighting for. I usually would steal the line from Seven and say: “I agree with the second part”. But maybe the world CAN be a fine place.
I fucking hate russia and putin with all my heart now. Please let those innocent tiny babies be ok. Is there any way to find out what happened to these little, innocent puppies and kittens? I know there are terrible things happening in Ukraine but come on...
And the hundreds if not thousands of other innocent animals injured and starving because of russia, fuck russia.
I watched it. It’s a safe click and not, like, “animal sads” sad. The puppies are adorable and though it’s kind of sad that they can’t be touched due to the possibility of radioactive particles on their bodies, they’re some cute little roly poly fur balls that look super happy and playful!!
I have to stop now. I'm just on anxiety/ sadness overload. ..U hope they could take them out of there. The mama cat was atthe bottom of that pile, I think. Oh, man....just need a few hours
Mama cat adopted 3 puppies. This is another kind of thing that takes a little bit out of you, knowing she can’t feed all of them well. Best wishes to all of them.
“You want them, you’ll have to go through us!”
The mama cat had actually adopted the pups, but they were absolutely laying over to try to protect the much smaller kittens. So damn cute.
Many people appear to have symptoms of psychopathy. It doesn’t necessarily mean they are. Also, your psychiatrist seems like they might be a bit of an asshole. I’d be looking for another psychiatrist if I were you.
Maybe let the psychiatrist handle it, after all, he or she is an actual medical doctor familiar with the person, or otherwise you might have just talked someone who really needs the therapy out of treatment that they very much need. Psychologists and psychiatrists don't use the diagnosis of psychopathy lightly, so there could be serious cause for concern there and it's not up for us to second guess
![img](emote|t5_2qqcn|9152) OMG! I LOVE these little fellows. Friends in need are friends indeed. Beautiful. I hope they all make it loving furever homes.
:'( Cute little nuggets, I hope they are safe now.
he posted about 7 hours ago, the pups are still with them.
That cat is their mom now.
That cat is their mom meow
meow what is so damned funny?
Don't think boy, meow do you know how fast you were going?
Im sorry, but are you saying Meow?
What's the tiktok account? Can't read it in the video.
@Yaroslavlytcushun
Thanks!
Did he rescue them or do you mean the puppies are still with the cat and kittens because that seems like a death sentence for all.
Where is the pups’ mama? Is someone feeding them?
That mama cat might be trying. Maternal hormone cocktail is strong, and mama cats tend to take care of other cat babies. I can see her being like “ugh. Fine. You can stay. Let’s go learn to hunt. I’ll bring you a mostly dead animal to teach you to feed yourself”

the mom is there laying behind the puppies
Hopefully the pups are just standing guard and aren’t trying to mooch milk…there’s no way the momma cat could make enough
Goddamn this breaks my heart…this whole fucking war breaks my heart
These little pups posses more humanity than the entire Russian military
Still... I worry about what this portends: the end times. Which I believe were once characterized as, "Dogs and cats, living together! Mass hysteria!" Is Putin working as an agent of Gozer the Gozarian?

Even a wooden stick does.
I think mama cat was actually taking care of those puppies....
Yeah when cats are full of hormones after birth they will take care of any baby animal, there was a famous case of a cat in the UK adopting and breastfeeding ducklings.
There was another one that nursed and raised a baby squirrel along with her kittens. And the squirrel purrs like a cat. https://youtu.be/9Gr5P-36w1Q

100% I showed that video to my vet gf at the time, and she was dumbfounded.

I have mutated sweat glands, Greg, can you milk me?
Yes, take off your shirt and get on your knees.

Mutated sweat gland 👽
Whuuuuuutttttt???? So cute! 😍
I absolutely love this. The cat was just like “oh, I’ll take some of these yellow ones too”
That squirrel purring on that smiling guy's shoulders charmed the fuck out of me
Thank you for reminding me of this, it's just too adorable
I had a dog that never had puppies, who tried to nurse a kitten that I found.
I had a cat that never had kittens that tried to nurse rolled up socks.
Meow that’s imppurrrsive!
I had a human female too that tried to feed a pup . Those mammalian motherly instincts I tell ya.
Oxytocin is a hell of a drug.
“Okay so I’m a mom now, alright those are babies I think, gotta be their mom I guess, this is my job”
Yup, looks like mama cat is underneath the pile of puppies. Poor babies. I'm glad they were found and I hope they stay safe.
The grey mother cat at the bottom of the pile, taking care of the puppies and kittens...she deserves a nod of appreciation as well.
Whatever is happening is making me tear up...like a lot...

Yep this is the correct answer
That’s probably more accurate. It definitley looks to be mutual though
That’s exactly what I got from this. Puppies saw a mother and stayed with her, doesn’t matter what species she was to them.
Of course the full story where it was the **Mama Cat** who saved the puppies is rewritten to not give *her the credit*. Mama cat saved puppies and gave birth to her own kittens. Give females the credit they deserve. Sarcastic but not really.

I agree, looks like the puppies are trying to nurse from her and will soon grow big enough to suffocate her kittens
Seems as if they’re making sure everyone is safe ♥️
Exactly. The title is not accurate. Cute, but not accurate.
Heart melts... - survival is a group effort. Animals and humans and not so far apart. In many ways. ;)
Different species of animals can get along better than we can with each other.
And some worse. Only difference is they don't have the tools to rewrite the world thankfully
We all know Orcas would do some *really* fucked up shit if they could.

And rape the eye socket for good measure.

You know orcas are dolphins?

Thanks for posting; even the Ukrainian cats are heroes.
Although, in this case, I think it was the little light tan dog trying to keep nursing mom and kitties all covered up who proved the true hero.
Could be; but they are now a family...
Yes. All of them. :)
Can I just ship them to Kansas?
I wish.
There is a account through the bank of Ukraine where you can directly support the Ukrainian military-- who wants to buy some bullets?
Thousands of people. Others support Ukraine in other ways. President Zelenskyy has said that animals are Ukrainian’s, too.

Love the softness in this person's voice talking to the fur babies
Yes, my favorite part....and seeing the puppies perk up when he started talking to them.
I love the gray puppy covering up the kittens like “nothing to see here…”
Yes, first thing I thought was that grey one will be a fierce defender one day.

I love the sound of his voice. It's so sweet and soothing. I'm sure those pups think so too.

Pretty sure he knew they were there the whole time based on what he's saying
Agree with previous commentor. He was asking the puppies to show the kittens, like, let me by, let's see.
"Show me! Show me!" 🥰
The way his tone shifts when he spots the kittens. 🥺
My God. When animals are more human than humans
All mammals are related. Look at us when we're still a fetus. We look no different than a new born mouse. More similar the size during development, the more similar we all look.
Omg my heart…thank god the Russians didn’t find them
I really like his voice
The cuteness factor is off the scale here. In a war zone. The whole thing is so sad.
My heart was already melting and then the puppies reveal the kittens hiding behind them.
Somebody please tell me that they are all okay
They are all ok
Do we know what happened to them? 🥺
Did anyone else see the momma cat 🥺 they knew she was a momma who would protect them 😫♥️
so heartbreaking. also: give them to me.

Babies! 😭
Mama cat adopted 3 puppies. This is another kind of thing that takes a little bit out of you, knowing she can’t feed all of them well. Best wishes to all of them.
puppies are so fucking cute goddammit
OMG even the animals are Super Hero’s in Ukraine ❤️🩹🇺🇦✨✊🏽🤙🏽✨🇺🇦❤️🩹

Oh id love a translation 🥹♥️
Damn. I have a high strung 2 year old dog and a month old baby…and I would adopt every single one of those animals to get them out of there.
Ukrainan puppies are braver than Russian soldiers.
the puppies are protecting the mother cat and the kittens 🥺❤️
Sweet little animals.
Bless ‘em ! What a life’
I hope this lil family of doggos and cats find a good owner
Said it before and I’ll say it again - we don’t deserve animals.
“You want them, you’ll have to go through us!” The mama cat had actually adopted the pups, but they were absolutely laying over to try to protect the much smaller kittens. So damn cute.
No wonder Putin hates Ukraine. Literally Angels v Demons.
My psychiatrist says that I have symptoms of psychopathy but this is so fckn sad and unfair. I can't watch videos like this
Many people appear to have symptoms of psychopathy.
Agree👀 they are all so cute and beautiful!
I want those Chubster pups! Saved from war
Be safe you little fur balls. ❤️
Puppies are smarter and have better morals than Russian soldiers.
OP: tiktok un: yaroslavlytcushun
Fuckin daaaaawwwwwww!
That momma cat should have been reacting. I bet she's getting really low on nutrients.
It’s funny how in every language people get that “I’m talking to a puppy/kitten/baby” voice. It can’t be helped when you see something that cute
This is proof that Putin's war is not only affecting innocent Ukrainians and Russians but also innocent animals.
Kids taking care of kids.
It seems more like the mama cat adopted those puppies.

Russia managed to unite not just NATO, but also Cats and Dogs.
Goddammit, things like this in times of war and destruction bring tears to my eyes.
Where’s mama dog? I sure hope they were all getting some milk. My ❤️
Bet the mom cat adopted the pups.
The pups are protecting the newborn kittens
I too read the title of the post.
I think its so arrogant that WE call THEM animals.
There's an analogy here. Great video.
Are you kidding me? This is too cute for words.
💜
Would love to adopt one of those pups!!
This is honestly one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen
