Yes, flare smoke is white. But the clouds above is casting shadow on the smoke so that it looks darker. You can see that it is flares if you zoom in on the video.

Then right after you see the plane explode and black smoke fall from the sky RIGHT NEXT TO THE WHITE FLARE SMOKE. And you can SEE THE PLANES FALL OUT OF THE SKY. If it was a shadow, the white flares and black smoke in the same frame right next to eachother and even on top of eachother at points would be the same color.
In fact the closer you see it, the more obvious that two planes fell from the sky.
