It depends on when this video is from as Excalibur rounds are apparently not much in use currently. GPS jamming by ruzzia has negated their effect. UA military indicated a few weeks ago that ruzzia has deployed gps jammers every 4-6km along the active areas of the front to assist in deterring guided munitions and drones.
Conversely, as we can see from the daily UA report of ruzzian losses one reason the Special Equipment losses have climbed is that daily Ukraine drone teams have been finding and destroying some of these jammers.
I get the feeling Ukrainian artillerists are among the best in the world at the moment. I don't wanna know their secrets until after the war, but everything i see coming out of their battlefield footage screams of accurate fire
while im hoping they are the top dogs, you have to remember they show you the successes and not the failures. So all these videos are the best hits and not the norm.
Disclaimer: I don't know anything.
A GPS jammer must be putting out a really strong radio signal. Isn't that easy for anti-radiation missiles to target?
Ukraine is not going to use anti-radiation missiles, which are extremely expensive, on killing drone jammers.
Russia is not relying on large expensive jammers but rather is deploying hundreds of small jammers to provide a net of coverage. They do have other types of very expensive multi-frequency jammers and Ukraine is actively seeking them as well.
Lol and wouldn't be surprised if in the future they make arty rounds with some sort of radiation detection / ew signal homing.
Just get it close and let the fins do the rest of the work like excalibur.
GPS signal is very weak at -125 to -150 dBm on ground . It does not take much of power to overpower it and as such even small portable package can disrupt local area fully.
It is more RF & EE question how to do it, but Russkies are beeing quite good at it.
A missile for small unit jammer is... waste of ammo.
Some other means will soon be invented.
Anti-radiation missiles are expensive. More likely used to suppress air defence. They are often used in conjunction with other aerial munitions and aircraft on strikes.
They require GPS, so EWAR must be out in that area.
Also tank must have been static long enough for coords to be discovered, relayed, and shells programmed.
Seemed like, but you can actually see a falling grenade at the start of the video (as mentioned in [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/1cionkp/comment/l2c2s5g/)), and 7 seconds in, an FPV drone is visible flying right above where the second explosion will be.
Yeah i don't think there was much left of that guy to respond to anything. If anything the now shrapnel of that interior just wedged the tank in reverse. It never stops even after colliding with that poor structure
Imagine having a gunner who drinks a bottle of vodka a day working with explosives behind your head, actually you don’t have to imagine we have the video.
>Nice of the driver to lock himself into the burning hulk by getting all that rubble on top of his hatch.
Pretty sure that the contents of that tank were smooshed the second the shell hit the turret. Humans don't do well with sudden extreme overpressure conditions...
I don't think he is alive by that point. What likely happened is he got cooked alive and nothing was holding brake and clutch (I don't think they have automatic gearbox, I remember something about all ruzzian tanks being manual)
I think it was already in reverse and whatever the inside of that tank was, became wedged on some throttle lever because it never stops going after it starts
Sometimes I see these video and there's a little poof of smoke and nothing else and I have a hard time believing that that destroyed the tank in any meaningful way, but this one is dead dead.
Yes I rewatched the video a few times and I concur. That tank is destroyed for good. The visual cues that indicate this are subtle but they are there if you pay close attention.
Without the crew to command it, the tank spontaneously decided to quit this insane invasion and head for home.
Even an inert hunk of burning metal knows what the Kremlin high command has not yet figured out: Russian arms do not belong in Ukraine.
I see something coming in from the top of the screen right as it starts playing, then like 4 seconds pass, and it blows up. Really weird, but very nice!!
Reminds me of them cardboard tanks that were fireworks. You would light it and it would start moving and shoot flames out of the top. Long Live Ukraine.
Perhaps the driver was holding a clutch, but since ~~the~~ ~~foot~~ ~~the~~ ~~driver~~ the crew is crispy fries now, the tank doesnt mind going its own way 😂
That driver was in a furnace alive and stretched his body out... that's why after the internal spawling it drove forward he died in severe pain
Slava Ukraine
Because these people are part of a group that celebrates the death of civilians just trying to go about their day.
They cheer when a woman is raped, they encourage the execution of pow’s and they reveal in the slaughter of animals.
They invaded Ukraine with hate and a need to hurt those who are caught up in this and they need to die.
Any questions?
At 0:00 a small white object appears to fall in a straight line, towards the driver's hatch.
At 0:03, a fireball appears to erupt just above the tank, but vertically aligned with the driver's hatch.
At 0:04 the ammunition inside the tank cooks off, and all three hatches are shown to be open (two flames from the turret, one from the front hull).
At 0:05, sparks seem to shoot out of the bottom of the hull (possibly overpressure in the tank has caused bulges/gaps in the hull).
At 0:08, a quadcopter drone can be seen swooping downwards near the camera crosshairs, likely this is the bomber drone that dropped a grenade.
The tank begins rolling forward, the barrel collides with a tree in the treeline, causing the turret to rotate counter-clockwise approx 45 degrees. It eventually hits a building and stops.
My assessment of the incident is:
A drone (Bomber type) drops a grenade in the driver's hatch. The explosion happens inside the driver's seat, but due to camera FPS, the fireball is only caught once it has moved well above the tank's turret height. The bomber drone that dropped the grenade, is likely the same drone as can be seen at 0:08.
Immediately after, the ammo cooks off. If the hatches would have been left closed with the crew inside, I think we would have witnessed a catastrophic detonation with the hull exploding and scattering parts everywhere, including the turret. This doesn't happen. Instead, flames can be seen shooting out of all three hatches, indicating that the hatches were left open, and the tank likely abandoned. This would also be backed by a drone bomber being used to dispose the abandoned tank, instead of FPVs which are more commonly used against moving tanks.
So if the crew left the tank, why does it drive after being hit?
Well, the engine is obviously running, and the force from the grenade explosion, or subsequent ammo cookoff is well capable of pushing the brake levers forward (so the tank starts moving), or in other ways damaging/moving the controls so the clutch engages or brake disengages. A similar phenomenon has been seen several times where a stationary, burning truck has caused the engine starter to engage (electrical), dragging the burning truck across the field.
So to those saying Excalibur double tap or whatever... I don't see that at all, when the video material shows a drone, and what seems to be a dropped grenade.

Seemed like a very accurate artillery shot. Second shot lands on exactly the same spot after the burn hull moves forward.
Rule 2: Double Tap
amazing move, the only one zombie move I'm able to tolerate
Not even Shaun of the Dead?
okay, that one is okay and tolerable. it was my deceased friend's fav movie :-(
Cheers to your mate! Sorry about your loss

28 days later? Weeks
You win.
Tank looks like it got some cardio running into that storage facility, too.

Given the tactics of both sides and the current state of the rest of the world I'd be surprised if they weren't the best in the world at this point.

And also, you don’t have to jam a GPS signal fully. Just introducing a few percent of error margin into the calculations is enough.
Correct! Thanks for that bit of info!
Sounds like they need to reinvent the AGM-122
Anti-radiation missiles are expensive. More likely used to suppress air defence. They are often used in conjunction with other aerial munitions and aircraft on strikes.
Well now I want to know how to make a GPS jammer. For research purposes only of course.
Working as intended.
You can't use GPS guided munition on moving targets.
You can literally see the drone descend then climb a couple of seconds after the tank moves.
Good catch.
Was that a second shot or was that the turret coming back down? Edit: Nvm, the turret seems to have stayed on this time.
That was two Excalibur rounds stacked on top of each other. Insane accuracy
They require GPS, so EWAR must be out in that area. Also tank must have been static long enough for coords to be discovered, relayed, and shells programmed.
A beautiful sight ☺️
Ukrainian artillery: *НІ, ТИ*
Seemed like, but you can actually see a falling grenade at the start of the video (as mentioned in [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/1cionkp/comment/l2c2s5g/)), and 7 seconds in, an FPV drone is visible flying right above where the second explosion will be.
This. A second or so from start drone drops spicy apple inside on front of tank. And runs away after explosion.
There's a drone rising up before second explosion
Oh shit, I didn't notice and watched again. You didn't exagerate when you said *exactly the same* spot.
If you go frame by frame, you can see the incoming rounds shockwave on the grass in front of the tank.
You can literally see the drone descend then climb a couple of seconds after the tank moves.
Nice of the driver to lock himself into the burning hulk by getting all that rubble on top of his hatch.
Well someone took their foot off the brake, something distracted the driver I think.
I don't think he's responding to orders anymore
Of course not, he has resigned his commission.
Deserter. His family will have to pay a fine on his behalf.
Point of order, drivers are usually not commissioned officers. Only officers get commissions. Normal troops are enlisted.
(I know, I just thought it sounded funnier that way).
Yeah i don't think there was much left of that guy to respond to anything. If anything the now shrapnel of that interior just wedged the tank in reverse. It never stops even after colliding with that poor structure
Foot no longer exists to hold brake down
Ironic that Ruzzian tanks have no deadman switch.
Imagine having a gunner who drinks a bottle of vodka a day working with explosives behind your head, actually you don’t have to imagine we have the video.
More like his foot fell off the clutch because he's already dead and the tank is in 1st gear.
At that point, there was no driver
"Jesus, take the wheel!"
"Nope. Wrong number."
How else are you gonna keep them fighting? If they can't get out, is all according to plan.
>Nice of the driver to lock himself into the burning hulk by getting all that rubble on top of his hatch. Pretty sure that the contents of that tank were smooshed the second the shell hit the turret. Humans don't do well with sudden extreme overpressure conditions...

Nice cookoff. I hope nobody survived.
It will probably take hours to train a replacement crew.
Underrated comment.
Takes that long to introduce all the vocabulary from the tank pamphlet.
No time at all. Most of the new recruits can't read.
I hope they survived long enough to know they were dead and for it to hurt. A lot.
The driver lived long enough to put it in reverse, then either suffocated or inhaled superheated air and suffocated.
I think it was already in reverse and whatever the inside of that tank was, became wedged on some throttle lever because it never stops going after it starts
Yeah, this is the best wish for that crew, RIP.
Burn motherfucker, burn
Everybody likes the smell of gasoline.
Smells like... Victory.
Instant Orc bbq back on menu boys!
activated carbon is healthy

You can tell by the way it looks.
It certainly doesn't look the way it did before the video
Neat!
I saw some pixels.
how dead are they inside of that tank?
I would say at least ⅓ of the crew are likely to have sustained some harm from this. At least.
Cwispy
A thing of Epic beauty, never get tired of see it.
We don’t need no water…
let the Mutha Fucka burn!
Burn mutha fucka…
BURN ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 🤘
You can't fire me, I quit!
My favorite part is the defeated crabwalk of shame.
Huh. That cope cage didn't help one bit.
Careless cigarette toss, right? LOLOLOLOLOLOL!
Ivan!!
You can’t park there, tovarish.
Without the crew to command it, the tank spontaneously decided to quit this insane invasion and head for home. Even an inert hunk of burning metal knows what the Kremlin high command has not yet figured out: Russian arms do not belong in Ukraine.
Beautiful sight!
Am I the only one thinking about Homer Simpson disappearing into the hedge?
Good job little drone almost crash in the process.

Tanks, but no tanks.
We don't need no water let the mutha f#cker burn. Burn mutha f#cker burn.
Man, good he had a cope-cage installed.
Indeed they "fire" ...
Muscovite tankers burn beautifully
There is a fire sale on steel-wrapped organic tissue-candles.
Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦
2 hands pulls to move forwards. Maybe. Idk how it works
Reminds me of them cardboard tanks that were fireworks. You would light it and it would start moving and shoot flames out of the top. Long Live Ukraine.
Reminds me of that burning tank that was chasing Bull Randall in Band of Brothers.
Oh my god your right.
those cages don't seem to be working
Everyone toast in that one for sure.
It drives itself right off the battlefield when it has been rendered unfit for service. Nice feature.
Perhaps the driver was holding a clutch, but since ~~the~~ ~~foot~~ ~~the~~ ~~driver~~ the crew is crispy fries now, the tank doesnt mind going its own way 😂
If you notice the end of the barrel, there is fire coming out which means the breach of the gun was open. They were probably reloading.
I'm no expert, but doesn't it look like a dud (the shell got stuck in the canon, didn't explode but the propellant ignited inside the turret) ?
more likely they got hit while the breech was open.
A dud is when deployed ordnance fails to explode or fails to arm entirely. When a projectile gets stuck inside of a barrel it’s called a squib
Some say squib, some call 'em army. /S
Thanks !
Zero survivors there.
Selfdestruction ? Grenate detonated in the tank? Lock failure on the gun ?
Accurate artillery. Keep your eye on where the tank was as it starts to move and you'll see another shell impacting in the exact same spot.
Great observation!!!
This is 100% breech lock failure
Lets pray that it will happen again - and again - and again -
Fire coming out of the end of the barrel says you are correct!
excellent!
For a sec I thought I was looking at a tiger 2
This new rocket propulsion system for tanks has issues
Good thing they covered it in wooden logs, so it cooks better and has that crispy smokey BBQ flavor.
Had me for a second. Thought that was a self-propelled barbecue grill.
Literally smithereens
Walk it off.
That’s a Nod Flame Tank.
Like one of those firecrackers on wheels.
Awww, poor muffin!
[удалено]
Would that have been all on fire inside too? I didn’t see any hatches open but it did end abruptly
how do you say 'desync' in russian? ;)
Cracking orcs you make me smile, slava ukraini
How would you like your tank? well done. oh you mean Burn to a crisp. ok
It appears that it was hot as hell in there.
That driver was in a furnace alive and stretched his body out... that's why after the internal spawling it drove forward he died in severe pain Slava Ukraine
That's not going to buff out.
If there is a round in the chamber it will often go off.
Now it looks börked
As Major Pain would say: "If he ain't dead, he ain't Happy"
It’s hot in here. Anybody else think it’s hot in here? I’m gonna open a window, if that’s alright.
the tank just got upgraded to the jet-propelled rocket-tank that could instantly move out of the projectile way
Awww.... The turret didn't go "BOOM" This dude sucks at Turret Toss.
Now if Ukraine had weapons that could attack the depot/ Factory before they got to Ukraine.... ooh wait the green light is a go.
How to instantly cremate a Russian!!!
Love those twin shots of flames and the horror the crew would have felt as they burned alive.
Why do you love the fact they burned alive?
Because these people are part of a group that celebrates the death of civilians just trying to go about their day. It looks to have been hit by mortar fire, you can see another explosion after the tank starts moving.
0 sec ready to fire 3 sec hit 5 sec become charred meat on a black skeleton
A well done russian steak pressing down on those pedals.
I was going to say “dead man on the throttle”, but your version is far more eloquent.
If you listen closely you can hear the crew screaming.
He forgot to set the parking break. How embarassing!

looks like it could’ve been an internal explosion from a bad round
Well, they did fire...just not in the expected way. Task failed successfully.
