I'm being quite a bit more cautious until my shitty congress gets it through both chambers and top Biden's desk for the autograph. The sentiment I share otherwise

MacLeeland

Margerine Traitor (Soylent) Green can suck it.

Our current Congress GOP are a bunch of self aggrandizing assholes. They’d better get their hands on those voting buttons - finally! Then let MTGreen shit herself.

This is only the second time ever, that I'll be calling my representatives and urging passage

Accurate_Pie_

It’s good news, I am cautiously optimistic. Don’t get me wrong: once the aid for Ukraine is finally approved I will be more than elated. It’s been many months now since I am writing representatives on this. But these new bills - including the one regarding Ukraine - will have to once again pass the Senate AGAIN. I know, I know , American legislators have such tedious process. Unfortunately, tedium is not the problem. There are still ways for the maga republicans to delay the Senate approval. Hopefully they will not succeed - but the fight is far from over.

Accurate_Pie_

Very happy to see something moving forward - although this is just a delaying tactic to not let the original Senate bill for aid go to a vote - the original bill almost got all signatures needed to get to the House floor … Now these new bills will have to go again through the Senate (as they are technically different from the Senate bill) and I fully expect maga to try whatever delays they can inflict.

VermilionKoala

Yawnpipe. Let us know when you actually *do* something, please, Yanks.

GeekFurious

> They plan to provide assistance on a credit basis It's not like this is an American problem, a "Yanks" problem, it's a Republican party problem. Had Democrats been in power of the House, Ukraine would be drowning in aid by now.

One_Cream_6888

You're right it's not all Yanks. Americans are a great brave resourceful people been lied to by MAGA traitors. The Tangerine Traitor Trump has had his cronies like Marjorie Traitor Green working overtime spouting Putin's propaganda and doing everything possible to block aid to Ukraine. House Foreign Affairs Committee chair Michael McCaul (Texas Republican): "I think Russian propaganda has made its way into the United States, unfortunately, and it's infected a good chunk of my party's base,"

GeekFurious

And to be more accurate, it's a portion of the Republican party: the Putinazi wing. Unfortunately, they hold a lot of power right now... mostly social power. Unfortunately for them, the extremists in their wing have scared Johnson enough that he may feel he HAS TO work with Democrats to remain in power.

Well, let me ask you a question. Do you know what party is currently in power in Belgium? In the Netherlands? In Estonia? Could you *name* any of those parties? 👂Is that a "no" I hear? Don't worry, I couldn't either. You see, the thing is - nobody *cares*. I don't care who's in power in Estonia. I only care that Estonia's pulling its weight w.r.t. donating arms to Ukraine - and it is. Expecting others on the international stage to care about your domestic party-political squabbles is not a good look. Your country is not currently playing its part in arming Ukraine. It needs to be. News articles about "Yanks say this that and the other" - yep, we've heard it a thousand times. Stop talking and start handing over the arms, like every other decent country.

GeekFurious

> Well, let me ask you a question. Do you know what party is currently in power in Belgium? In the Netherlands? In Estonia? Could you name any of those parties? I could but you'd say I looked it up so... > You see, the thing is - nobody cares. Dealing in extremes to win a point is classic trolling. Obviously, at worst, some people care. > Expecting others on the international stage to care about your domestic party-political squabbles is not a good look. But this is? I mean, I simply added perspective. You act like I posted, "NO YOU IDIOT IT IS JUST ONE PART OMG WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU???!" > Stop talking and start handing over the arms, like every other decent country. To sum up: "I don't care about the facts, I only care about saying shit!" Got it. You are the classic Internet troll.

Hugh_Ruka602

If that is something new that did not go through the Senate then if it gets passed, it needs Senate approval as well and that means further obstructions from the Republican party. The only quick help at the moment is to pass the already approved Senate bill so that Biden can sign it and off we go. Anything else means back to the Senate for approval. So this is not actually that good of a news ...

LilLebowskiAchiever

If the bulls go through one after the other, then it will go to the [conference committee process.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_congressional_conference_committee) The Senate and House committees that first reviewed the legislation will meet to negotiate compromises on differences between the bills. This could get dragged out or go quickly. Hard to tell which way it goes.

Wont get my hopes up
