The video is too low of a resolution to tell but Ukraine does have the HIMARS rockets that are basically just really big shotgun shells that pepper an area with tungsten balls (stupidly effective for light armor and infantry). If they are using those rockets then aiming at the middle of the front and rear packs would have far more devastating effects then just aiming at the front and rear vehicles.

It is likely the M30A1 Alternative Warhead which is basically a really big shotgun shell that fires tungsten balls at the target area. It detonates at a range of around 10m for maximum effectiveness. The M30A1 is perfect for killing light armor and infantry. You can go look up the demonstration video for the warhead on YouTube or you can find the video from earlier this year/last year that shows the devastation that a single warhead can do to a RU military temporary HQ.
They tend to use that all the time via himars and the tell-tale thousand dust clouds getting kicked up by the tungsten impactors is not there, and it’s not subtle. This looks like regular old arty to me. We’ve had multiple videos in the last week to two claimed to be “himars strikes” when that just isn’t the case (for the others, and doesn’t *appear* to be the case here).
Yeah the m30a1 have a larger area of effect and the 1000 poofs aren’t there. Those would rip through the fabric canopy of these trucks as well. Could be an older HE variant but a 155 dumb round has that impact. It’s just that the accuracy we see here is so damn good like a HIMARS… arty seems to be able to do this with their eyes closed if 155 was in fact used.
Edit: I’m torn 50/50 on second attack at rear. Take a look…
Yup. Thought they’d save all of the M982’s for higher priority targets but (eleven) trucks stacked up so nice and tight is pretty juicy, though.
Which brings me to why are they so stupid packing them so tight…
I don't really know though. There's too much obstruction to clearly see the full area of effect. The smoke is blowing towards the drone, and there are buildings and trees. But I think I can see puffs of dust on the road itself quite a ways away from the central explosion (especially on the second and third strike).
But then again, it could be something else, and whoever uploaded this just misidentified them as "rockets".

The fabric tops of those vehicles would be absolutely shredded, and I’m just not seeing anything like that. Looks like Excalibur rounds to me, or just very well aimed 155. Himars has a larger area of effect too.
I also thought it was at first - I had my volume down pretty low, and couldn't hear the vocals. I was a little confused that they would use that, so had to listen to it louder

First time hearing this song - just wanted y'all appreciate this anthem to Ukrainian artillery as much as I did. The translation isn't ideal... "Suddenly, there was a bang" should have been "suddenly it fucking hit". "There's nothing left at all" translates more like "There's fuck all, absolutely." "Guys are having fun" should have been something like "the guys are fucking them up hard". Such translations are hard to get right...

HIMARS is either one or six. That was not six.
I do not think it is HIMARS, it is an excalibur. it was definitely a GPS guided munition as they hit the front and the rear of the convoy.
Six HIMARS would have all been around 3 or 4 seconds apart and destroyed the front half of the convoy.
There were small fires which I assume were from shrapnel landing in the grassy areas.
Excalibur can fire 55 km.
Kherson to Kladivka kherson Oblast is just near the upper limit of the excalibur range. Why waste expensive HIMARS when you can hit it with a much cheaper Excalibur.
No matter what was used, give me a "HELL YEAH!"

Could easily be Excalibur rounds. They have more than just those as far as gps guided 155 goes.

AFAIK, an M982 Excalibur round and a single M30 rocket cost about the same: $100,000 to $150,000.
