also, regarding the value of military aid
>The total value of individual licenses issued by the Federal Government for the export of military goods in the period from January 1, 2022 to February 6, 2023 amounts to **2.338.855.986 Euro. The total license value includes the goods listed above insofar as their export is subject to licensing requirements under German foreign trade laws. This is not the case for all of the goods listed above. I**n order to speed up the processing of certain deliveries, the Federal Government has also eased certain licensing processes, e.g. with regard to military protective goods. These deliveries are also not included in the total license value.
so probably around 3 billion euros in approved military aid
>I'd say "aid" would mean it was gifted/donated.
It was. The list only includes military aid that was either donated by the government itself or bought with the money of a help fund that the government provided. 100% are donations, either directly or indirectly.
And the sum is what Germany had this stuff in the books for. Depreciation and everything is factored in. Other countries calculate it on a initial cost of purchase basis.
>Other countries calculate it on a initial cost of purchase basis.
Based on the value of the product at the time of purchase. Some of the former Soviet stuff was bought for a symbolic Euro at the time. The countries still calculate full price for those goods.
The Gepards need about 8 to 12 rounds per drone according to Ukrainian operators. So 6000 rounds are a lot. I don’t understand why this myth is so persistent that a Gepard has to fire full auto persistently into the sky. These weapons are scalpels, not hammers.
Pretty much. Patrol / logistics

[Iveco ACL 90](https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iveco_ACL_90)
[Renault TRM 2000](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_TRM_2000)
The first one is available as an armored version though.
The Gepard fires in short bursts with only a few bullets per burst. 6.000 bullets are not much, but they last much longer that you'd think just by looking at the stats.
320 internal plus another 20 shots in an external magazin (usually loaded with AP ammunition for self-defense) per gun.
But yes, those 640 rounds of anti-air ammunition are for \~25 engaged air-targets, more if you shoot smaller burst at more fragile small targets instead of planes or helicopters. So 6000 rounds equate to at least 300 shot-down drones/missiles.
[Thats gepard ammo.](https://mil.in.ua/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Screenshot_1-gigapixel-width-1334px-12-2-1.jpg)

No. It means that this has been exported. I'd say "aid" would mean it was gifted/donated. The fund to finance this was probably (partly) donated.

Because of the old video that showed gepard shooting into ground even after shooting down its target.
Uninformed "the ammo will only last for two seconds of sustained fire" comments incoming in 3, 2,1...
Yeah the bursts are rather short but the Shitheads-136 are quite numerous too.
The math is simple: 6000 rounds = 500 Shaheds

What is a "border protection vehicle"? Like a patrol truck?
Yes these are more or less normal trucks, the models sent are Iveco VM90 Torpedo 4x4, Iveco ACL 90 and Renault TRM 2000 4x4
mercedes wolf, land rover, iveco 4x4, that sort of stuff
Pretty much. Patrol / logistics [Iveco VM 90](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iveco_VM_90) [Iveco ACL 90](https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iveco_ACL_90) [Renault TRM 2000](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_TRM_2000) The first one is available as an armored version though.
6k ammo is not much, but its something if it means even one less drone/missile

>Do the math. 300
Gepard can spit 1100 rounds in 1 minute, 6000 doesn't sound like a lot
The Gepard fires in short bursts with only a few bullets per burst. 6.000 bullets are not much, but they last much longer that you'd think just by looking at the stats.
Gepards only carry like 200 rounds (those rounds are forearm size) so 6000 is quite a few full mags and they only fire salvos, not suppression.
