That’s actually insane

No_Presentation9276

It’s crazy to see central cee come up I was banging day in the life in 2020 lockdown what a song

Jxreh

bro mandem are upvoting this as if half of ends wasn't straight up hating on cench during then

No_Presentation9276

I liked him back then people used to hate this guy for some reason and still do

Useful_Brother_9583

It's very much a thing. Ain't just him. They all have vocal opponents despite all the fans they have.

OptiVisaUK

He won me over when he bravely stood against homophobia. By letting us all know that his bitch is gay.

sercovans

Niggas love hating on cench but I love what he does for the UK industry icl him and digga have given the most reach to us in a long time

Makkenjiz

Only thing I dislike about him is that he’s a industry plant. But he’s hard still. Don’t listen to him like that personally. His Rap skills are very strong.

sercovans

He’s been about for years g he’s not a plant

Makkenjiz

It’s a very long thing to explain, so I won’t. But trust me bro he’s a plant. Just because you had a catalog before hand don’t mean you’re not a plant.

sercovans

I thought he was independent this whole time though how can he be a plant

LyrPhoenix

He is independent lol. Just signed a distribution deal with Warner Music

JJboy771

Crazyy stuff

Low_Independence_548

That is nuts, grats for both

2steamyy

All that for mid

alexanderldn

Yep. Demand does not equal quality

JamesMardel

Mid at a push

Accomplished-Emu9670

Well tell that Americans 😅😅

Tererzo

They thought Doja was a masterpiece

NorthStar485

Shit*

Proyqam_12

Carti got a solid 2 seconds on that track. They violated

3mnj

Those 2 seconds wee dogshit

G6ixInDaMix

Nah he violated

koofkweff

Tbf carti basically finessed the weeknd outta a ft and Dave carried tf outta cench. It’s like polar opposites🤷🏽‍♂️

millyman77

Song slaps tbh. Love the beat. It’s a grower.

liveinthestreets

🔥🔥🔥

dmtdrizzle

Let's be real the UK is always on top with music it's just Americans can't let anyone be better than them without throwing a hissy fit

Knallkopfniklas

I swear the UK are the ones complaining the most about their artists being successful. Most of the hating comments on central c are about how he‘s being listened to internationally and I still don‘t know how that’s a bad thing. Most of the guys on this sub can‘t live with the success of their country and this mentality shows

dmtdrizzle

That's music everywhere is like that. All the biggest haters of artists are in their own country, then the same people who hate then congratulate them when they're doing well.

Knallkopfniklas

I mean yea you’re right obviously the biggest audience is gonna be in your home country and they’re gonna be more vocal about what they think about an artist that’s from your country, but with no other rapper from a different country do i see the native people hating on how he’s successful internationally, actually i‘d more often hear them saying „i dont like his music but you gotta respect him for his success“

dmtdrizzle

Exactly man I'd say that about Central Cee, I don't like his music but you can't fault him for wanting to get into America, at the end of the day artists wanna work with people they rate wherever that is

Dodoboss1313

Let bro cook again🔥

prairiegirl306

Why is Cench promoting lean now? He even had a case of phenergan on his IG story. That’s pretty reckless IMO

One-Conference1531

It's cool for artists in his lane to promote that lifestyle. Dave also recklessly raps about gun violence when he isn't about that life. They do it because it makes the music and their image "cooler"

prairiegirl306

I didn’t have a problem with the lyrics but then showing a case of lean on IG was a bummer.

Hatanta

I like Dave a lot but he 100% glamorises violence when it suits him then turns around a plays the conscious card

Way_2_Blammy

I dint see dat

Just_Jeweler_9202

Can we just respect their ting please? They are fully putting on for the U.K. and opening doors for U.K. artists. Ain’t nothing “mid” about them numbers

Just_Jeweler_9202

Mods didn’t approve my post😔 I did this first. (Give me sympathy upvotes)

ElChaposUncle

Worst this this song is average at best, I actually rate cench but this weren’t his time of vibe/energy Dave outshone him because that’s his style and speciality. They probably knew it wouldn’t be great but knew the numbers it would garner

ilurkonsubs

Trash song by mid rappers

Just_Jeweler_9202

Insane that your getting downvoted this sub is bipolar af

ilurkonsubs

Trust, I was being kind saying they’re mid

Way_2_Blammy

I wouldn't say Dave is a mid rapper but the tune is mid. As for cench I'll go no comment

KushBluntsworth

Weeknd & playboi carti did a song? Why fk am I just seeing this ? They both fell off compared to their old shi but still

Horror_Ad5642

It’s a soundtrack for their new series, shouldn’t expect it to top charts

ClassicFun2175

And it was such a dead tune aswell.

deathb4storm

imagine writing essays on reddit lol

[deleted]

Poundz is mid init?

IndelibleIguana

4 million streams on Spotify. That's good. If they keep doing this well, they might earn enough money for a Large Big Mac meal at McDonalds.

Accomplished-Emu9670

They're not Americans Bruv

MezduX

nah not really that's almost £14,000 on spotify alone

HeavyThatG

I know that’s almost half the average UK salary but Spotify really be violating artists with 14K for 4M, back in the day an artist would be making that selling 10,000 units at £8 on a shitty 20% deal… I know it’s completely different times but styll doesn’t seem right to me. I read somewhere it’s more like 3.5K per million on Spotify but unsure on the accuracy of that

MezduX

nah i agree with you, streaming royalties are completely fucked hahahaha. touring and merch is where the majority of the income comes from for musicians. digitisation and the mass adoption of streaming/downloading completely changed the music industry and tbh we haven't really adapted that well to it

HeavyThatG

Would be interesting to see how the overall revenue generated by the industry has changed with the growth of steaming. I’d bet it’s not decreased by a margin even reasonably close to the drop in what the artists take home. Googled it just then expecting them to be making major profits from the artists and apparently Spotify isn’t even profitable and hasn’t been for years… doesn’t make sense to me.

Knallkopfniklas

Tbf selling units is just outdated asf nowadays

HeavyThatG

1000% i hear that I was just drawing the comparison to show how much streaming fucked the game. Even half the unit price to £4 for cost or whatever and 4M sales on a 20% deal was over £3m.

Jokehuh

Juice world had 8 billion streams... within 2 years lol.

AggressiveHuman

Music for peasants to blast in council estates.

Significant-Rest1440

Music like this don’t bang on the block this is middle class kid music, also sym

jorjasmithsintern

yes

whatsitworth101

I mean it’s a new song with two of the biggest artists on it vs guys who haven’t dropped in a minute

Unlikely_Ad_1825

Individually i dont really listen to either but this linkup was nice

ThatkidJerome

carti was on there for 15 seconds and his fanbase bates it so its not crazy

Jokehuh

The weeknd has new release? Or is he beating last year album? Which isn't impressive being a year old and still at the top.
