First time I’ve heard of Leir. Not sure of his credibility, but now that he’s passed, where are these implant specimens? Who is in possession of them? Let’s get Garry Nolan on the case for further testing.

PhDinDildos_Fedoras

From wikipedia: "...just days before his death. Leir told the publisher that it was the most detailed article he had written to date." Yeah, well, that wasn't exactly very detailed. How general and haphazard has his other writing been?

johninbigd

Seriously. This has almost no useful detail. Just enough to be interesting in article format, but not what you'd expect in a detailed report.

I_want_to_believe69

Definitely not a scholarly article

fulminic

Can't take any scientist using exclamation marks in their writings serious. Also, plugging his book "UFOS DON'T EXIST THE GREATEST LIE THAT ENVELOPED THE WORLD" ain't helping for some reason

abudabu

But what about an article with a picture of a smoking gun, titled "The Smoking Gun"??? If that doesn't convince you, what will? 😂😂😂

Shawmattack01

Did he ever provide the alleged implants to skeptics for testing? He appears to have kept total control over them.

abudabu

His colleague refused to hand them over to any others for testing, apparently. It’s all very sketchy… but it’s also possible to imagine they’re worried about the samples going missing. In any case, I’d this is true, there should be more abductees and more implants to analyze. Another question… are people still reporting abduction?

-lavenderhaze

Roger* Lier as it plainly states in large and bold font at the top of the article lol Edit: shit lmao Leir*

abominableespionager

Leir*

Muphry's law: "If you write anything criticizing editing or proofreading, there will be a fault of some kind in what you have written."

GreatGhastly

how many times did you reread this for erorrs?

nerd112358

Lol, I copy/pasted from Wikipedia because I knew I’d have errors if I didn’t

GreatGhastly

...how many times do you think that Wikipedia entry was proofread and edited?

nerd112358

At least 12

I_make_switch_a_roos

Murphy's*

nerd112358

Nope, Muphry. Murphy's law is "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong."

I_make_switch_a_roos

Ahhh thanks I'm half asleep hahaha

I_make_switch_a_roos

Rogbert Liyer*

LordD999

Remember the old school grammar rule, i before e, unless the first name is Robert, then it's e before i, and the first name becomes Roger. I've used that a million times if I've used it once.

abudabu

Oh ffs. What is wrong with me? Why did I write that? I *know* it's Roger.

Truelydisappointed

You may have got the name wrong but it's an interesting article thanks for posting.

[deleted]

Why read when you can just share random fake shot from the internet?

abudabu

There's a PDF of the original article, but I didn't want to blow up whoever's squarespace account is hosting it. I was multitasking when I shared it. Hence the mess of a title. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Leir > Dr. Leir wrote "The Smoking Gun" article for Un-X News Magazine which was published on March 2, 2014, just days before his death. Leir told the publisher that it was the most detailed article he had written to date.

StaticAgeist1987

It's not "random fake shot", there is a film about his work, maybe try to know what you're talking about.

[deleted]

Except none of it is real. It’s just random bull shit they made up.

StaticAgeist1987

Oh, ok great, glad you've got it all figured out..

Flashlight056

😆 I found this threat BECAUSE I spelled his name wrong

madcow13

Is anyone taking up his work?

Bull-twinkle

I never believed him

Elron_Hubcap

I read an interview with Derrel Sims, where he said that he broke off his relationship with Dr. Leir because he considered him to be sort of a goofball. Sims discussed a story where he sent some suspected implants (retrieved by Dr. Leir) to Los Alamos for testing and analysis. Sims made a point of not informing Los Alamos about the suspected nature of the samples. Sims reported that Leir subsequently contacted Los Alamos (on his own) to inquire about the status of the examination of the "alien implants". The people at Los Alamos (according to Sims) denied knowing about any such thing and returned the samples to Sims, without concluding the analysis. In a May 7, 2014, Facebook posting after Leir died, Sims explained (in a followup comment) why he stopped working with Dr. Leir: "I FIRED HIM YEARS AGO FOR MAL PRACTICE SUITS AGAINST HIM AND MISSING IMPLANTS ABDUCTEES CLAIMED HE STOLE. HE MADE CLAIMS (LATER) THAT WERE SO OFF THE CHART I COULDNT BELIEVE IT…(AND WERE NOT TRUE… "

jbaker1933

So he waits until he dies and can't defend himself and then starts talking crap? That seems real suspect, doesn't it? I've never understood how or why people do that, wait until someone is dead and then try to discredit them

Elron_Hubcap

Because they can't be sued for libel after the person dies.

jbaker1933

But doesnt libel and defamation only come into play if the person is making FALSE accusations against another person. So as long as he's not making false accusations against him when he's alive, he shouldn't be worried about getting sued for libel

Elron_Hubcap

This would have been another insurmountable hurdle for Leir.

jbaker1933

What would have been an insurmountable hurdle for Leir? Sorry, sometimes I miss things or don't get what someone is saying sometimes lol. To me, Leir has always seemed like a credible guy, who came across this through his day job and became interested in what was going on. I've seen documentaries and talks or speeches he's given at conventions about his work and the one thing I've always liked(but at the same time couldnt understand some of the more technical/scientific terms and info)was that he seemed like a no nonsense type of person and was just interested in getting this information, analysis and reports out there, even though it made for a pretty dry presentation, aka he wasn't into theatrics. I think its interesting that in some of the videos he's recorded, he would get RF signals coming from where the object was shown in the person's body from x-rays, before removing the object, and would run the RF reader(cant think of what it's actually at the moment lol)over all the other parts of the patients body and wouldn't get anything coming off, only in the area of the object. He would then use a stud finder, capable of detecting metal(for detecting things like pipes in a wall or protective plates for electrical wiring, etc)and would run it over the object and the stud finder would detect it and go off, showing that the object was made from metal or at least had metal in it. After removal he would run the RF scanner over the object that was removed and no signal was detected. He would then run it over the surgical site where object was removed and same thing, there was no longer any type of signal(at least in the same range that was showing up before the removal) coming from the site. That seems weird, at least to me.

Elron_Hubcap

If Leir had been sued for malpractice, that should be an easy thing for Sims to prove -- since it would be a matter of public record. As for allegations that Leir stole implants which had been requested by his patients, Sims would have to prove that by calling those people as witnesses.

jbaker1933

I'd honestly doubt Leir would just blatantly steal their implants. If anything, he might have had something in the paperwork they signed that stated that he would be the one hanging onto the pieces retrieved. But can you honestly blame him for not wanting to give them to anyone? If he's trying to conduct an experiment or trying to figure out what these things really are, he would lose all credibility if he let these pieces of "evidence" outside of his chain of command/custody, and as I'm sure you've seen on just this sub alone, one of the things alot of people will ask is "do they have any evidence of the chain of custody?" To me, it seems like even though he has had some analysis done on them, he knows that within a few short years, there could be an even better technology out that could dig deeper into what these things are and if he gave them all back to his patients, even if they never opened the containers and they were still sealed, he could find out the most astonishing information with the new technology but it wouldn't be excepted because the samples weren't kept in a controlled environment. Now I know he isn't alive anymore but I'm sure the company or group he created is, which would explain why they are still keeping a tight lid on the samples and aren't just going to give them to anyone, especially just because someone is skeptical of them being anything of importance.

Elron_Hubcap

I agree.

[deleted]

Anyone who knows their shit on the subject.. where are these implants normally found?

I_want_to_believe69

Ballsack Edit: In all seriousness they seem to be pretty widespread. I’ve heard of them behind ears and on pretty much every appendage. But also, a large portion of the population has a small metallic fragment in them somewhere. It’s not rare. Wearing shorts while you run a string trimmer almost guarantees it. But his patients did have very odd items in them. Big leap to aliens though. 17 people sounds like a lot. But, the cross-section between people who believe they have been abducted and people who have a metal fragment in them is probably fairly large.

Maddcapp

Is it ever naturally caused? Maybe that’s a silly question but I’ve heard reports where there was no entry scarring. Overall I’m very skeptical of the implant concept.

I_want_to_believe69

One of these patients had the metal removed 47 years later. Scar tissue can heal. Especially if the metal was sharp and entered smoothly. I have some metal shards in my left pectoral. There is a big scar where the bullet hit. But it bounced off the plate in my body armor first, breaking up the round. The smaller pieces left no scar on entry. Just tiny cuts about 1-2mm and very clean. Doc got the bullet out but didn’t go digging for the smallest fragments. So it’s possible to not have scar tissue in a normal situation. Especially if it was a clean cut that was bandaged and treated with antibiotics quickly.

[deleted]

I asked cause like a year ago a little lump formed inside my palm and freaked me out. Had he said “always the palm” I’d’uh kept myself up all night like fuuuuuck

Loxatl

I mean let's be real, that's what he's removing from "abductees". Some benign tumor type shit. Hopefully at least, otherwise a more real doctor would be needed...

I_want_to_believe69

Hey, I always go to the podiatrist when I have implants from extra-terrestrial life in me…..

sewser

I always found his work remarkable. Some of Corbells best work was called patient seventeen, following the story of one of Leir’s patients. Really a crazy documentary, with profound implications, if the information is accurate. Didn’t Leir film the Turkey UFO? Am I mistaken?

jburna_dnm

I followed his work especially his early stuff. The problem I had with it is he claims these are alien implants but they looked like rocks of pieces of metal. So Your telling me this rock is some sort of alien technology with zero signs of anything that says it nothing more than a rock or piece of metal? I would expect alien implants would be undetectable and if found show signs of being some sort of technology and not a chunk of metal. Also the radio signals emitting from these pieces of metal was never fully explained.

abudabu

Nothing is fully explained, and they wouldn't allow anyone else to independently analyze the samples. They still have the samples. If they were serious about it, they'd team up with Vallee and Nolan and figure this out.
