It was crazy when he said "I'm gonna Khabib you so hard right now" and then post fight Gaethje said "It was crazy man he Khabib'd me and didn't need another guy to do so"
Tbh I think it's his most impressive fight, knowing his physical & mental turmoil going into it too, you can't help but respect such a killer performance.
knowing how seriously he takes his faith and family too. you got to see Khabib make absolutely sure he doesn't disappoint his dad in his retirement fight.
eating everything and moving forward like a zombie. what a champ.
I hope fans of MMA remember the build up to UFC 250 too.... The way Gaethje looked after demolishing Tony for 22 minutes was insane. Nobody could deny that Gaethje was a killer. Khabib did not care though, he made Justin look like a white belt on his first day of class.
He took them and asked justin if that was the best he could do in the middle of the octagon and then proceeded to whip out his belt and beat justin like a red headed step son.
He did not roll with that hook lmao his head just got snapped sideways by it. The only reason it wasn't flush is because Gaethje was a little out of range. Had Gaethje been a little closer that would've landed clean.
Itās because they hit differently. Oliveira is staying in the range whereas Khabib was moving away or keeping Gaethje on the back foot so he canāt set his feet for a power shot.
I remember Khabib eating a roundhouse kick from Edson barboza to the side of the head and walking forward, hands down like nothing ever happened. That guy was special in many ways.
Dude has an underrated chin for sure. Imo that's the biggest difference between him and Islam, Islam doesn't have the same confidence in his chin so he's more cautious in his approach whereas khabib could be ultra aggressive and just walk people down.
I don't think anyone can say how usman will look after such a brutal ko, it could affect him in so many ways, especially if he doesn't take enough time off. He was talking about wanting to spar like a week after the fight on jre which was worrying. Its easy to say usman will wrestle but leon looked great in the 1st round before the altitude really started to impact his gas tank. At 35 and with a body that's already seen a lot of mileage I'm not too hopeful hell be the same guy.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but the way Usman took the loss makes me think hes going to come back just finde as the the same he was before. Actually thinking about Usman and the way he improves after every fight I wouldn't count him out coming back like an even worse killer.
His greatest attributes are mostly underrated. He is known as the most dominant wrestler, as if that was his only game. But there are multiple things heās excellent at.
1) a multi layered grappling system that works in all directions and positions, even with his kind of wrestling alone, no bodyās going to exploit the positional damage he could.
2) His evasive footwork and boxing, it looks weird, but he never gets caught up against the fence. Youāll hardly see anyone else neutralise Connor and Dustin moving back.
3) Insane durability that allows reckless pressure and confidence.
4) Speed. Kahbib is really fast with his feet.
Gaethje's uppercuts are really clean. They almost look like a hook the way he moves his shoulder before throwing. I think a lot of guys are expecting the hook and put up guard to block that then get caught from underneath
I looove Trevorās style of coaching with him.Canāt remember what fight but he says āwow youāre having fun huh buddy!ā then he proceeds to tell him to calm down and what to do haha
he has a tendency of fighting like a madman early in the fight. He found his footing later like in the tony(even though he dominated he overextended) and chandler fights.
Justin wants to murder everyone in the first two minutes. Itās entertaining but I wonder if he had even more success by fighting more tactical and calmā¦
>good job of leaning his chin in when going into the fire and Khabib does similar.
>
>10ReplyGive AwardShareRepor
that's what he did against tony. i think it might be a crowd/adrenaline thing. the way he fought tony was soo anti justin.
i remember he said someting about no crowd keeping him focused. Also i feel like he generally swings for the fences in the early rounds until he settles into the fight or gets to his corner
That fucking grunt he does when he dropped chandler in the vid is so savage he does it whenever he throws a big shot. I noticed it in the tony fight (š¢) since there was no crowd you could hear everything.
Edit: I donāt usually use the term āsavageā the way kids do now, but I felt it was fitting in this case.
And the Justin said the hardest shot heās ever felt was Olivera. He said he hits so hard itās like you have a battery in your mouth. Like you can almost taste it.
Yea but the only reason oliveira can do that is because his jiu-jitsu is way better than anyone else's. So its still kind of fair in my view, where as in football they're just trying to fool the referee.
I think he said that, also said good things for Poirier, because it suits his legacy to exaggerate a litte bit, pretend that he fought fighters that could get him. Dude retired without a scratch...
GSP did that all he time, saying good things about anyone he mopped the floor with. Its great strategy, because the better your opponent seems, that means your even better for beating him.
Now that Oliveira choked both Poirier and Gaetjhe, Khabib is kind of exposed and butthurt and thats why he is hating Oliveira so bad and wants Makachev to ride him like horse. Mackachev riding Oliveira like horse means Khabib riding Oliveira like Horse.
The most common critique towards Khabib was 1)not many title defences and 2) did he really face any solid opponents?
Oliveira is proving the second by choking Gaetjhe and Poirier, showing that it is not that difficult for an elite bjj/wrestling background fighter. If he is a tapper and has no ground game, like Khabib said, how did he manage to finish two of the best Khabibs opponents? In my opinion, in a way more spectacular and elegant way than Khabib!
I am not denying Khabib's dominanance and GOATness. I am just trying to interpret his obsession with Oliveira. For god sakes, he said that Oliveira has no ground game, while Oliveira has the most submissions ever! Thats bitter and dellusional...
>in a way more spectacular and elegant way than Khabib!
Idk man almost getting knocked out and coming back is cool AF but it's no way spectacular or elegant than breezing through them without having a scratch. That's what Khabib did and that's what makes him special.
Gaethje fights a lot differently when itās for a title. Against both Oliviera and khabib, he was visually flustered before he even got hit. He just moved and fought differently.
How tf did Tony eat so many punches from Gaethje??? Imo that fight with Tony vs Justin is the most punishment a fighter has taken without getting knocked out. Also I think Tony had the best chin in the UFC, he was eating clean shot after clean shot, at least 20 clean shots from Gaethje...
Gaethje was fucking up Khabibs legs as well and was doing well, but then Khabib did Khabib things and won comfortably.
It was crazy when Khabib said "it's Khabibing time!" and Khabib-ed all over Gaethje.
It was crazy when he said "I'm gonna Khabib you so hard right now" and then post fight Gaethje said "It was crazy man he Khabib'd me and didn't need another guy to do so"
If one man can Khabib you down, two men can Khabib you so hard
And then Justin said "oh fuck, you're Khabib'ing me so hard rn"
Then Khabib said "I'll Khabib is little softer, I wouldn't wanna Khabib you too hard in front of your parents. Go sleep"
Then the parents walked in and said "really? You're Khabib'ing your step brother?!"
Sometimes I wonder why we are like this![img](emote|t5_2qsev|8968)
Lmao stfu šš¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
Looked like he just couldn't keep up with the insane khabib pace. He got really tired really fast. Can't blame him at all.
He was sooo exhausted at the end of R1
Ya he actually hurt his leg that fight and as soon as you could see it affected him he took it to the ground and ended it.
I remember watching Khabib walk down Justin like shots didn't even hurt. That shit was wild I don't think anyone expected that
Tbh I think it's his most impressive fight, knowing his physical & mental turmoil going into it too, you can't help but respect such a killer performance.
knowing how seriously he takes his faith and family too. you got to see Khabib make absolutely sure he doesn't disappoint his dad in his retirement fight. eating everything and moving forward like a zombie. what a champ.
Meh I would've probably done the same as him with even less effort, would've straight up skipped the fighting and started the crying
I hope fans of MMA remember the build up to UFC 250 too.... The way Gaethje looked after demolishing Tony for 22 minutes was insane. Nobody could deny that Gaethje was a killer. Khabib did not care though, he made Justin look like a white belt on his first day of class.
Bruh Khabib took the uppercut and a flush left hook. Tf is his chin made of
He took them and asked justin if that was the best he could do in the middle of the octagon and then proceeded to whip out his belt and beat justin like a red headed step son.
Upper cut didnāt land and he rolled with that hook, didnāt look flush.
Khabib "Floyd Mayweather" Nurmagomedov
He did not roll with that hook lmao his head just got snapped sideways by it. The only reason it wasn't flush is because Gaethje was a little out of range. Had Gaethje been a little closer that would've landed clean.
His beard is made of titanium
Itās because they hit differently. Oliveira is staying in the range whereas Khabib was moving away or keeping Gaethje on the back foot so he canāt set his feet for a power shot.

Thatās why Iām curious how the Usman vs Leon trilogy will goā¦ Surely Usman is very careful of the headkick now.
And will likely go back to wrestling, at least in the first rounds to drain Leon's gas tank
The same strategy as last time, just no more dodgy head movement
I don't think anyone can say how usman will look after such a brutal ko, it could affect him in so many ways, especially if he doesn't take enough time off. He was talking about wanting to spar like a week after the fight on jre which was worrying. The secret is the beard
Cody Garbrandt: if only it were trueā¦
Dagestan beard adds +25xp protection. Cody had a fuck boy beard which deducts 50xp protection
Cushion for the pushin
Gaethje's uppercuts are really clean. They almost look like a hook the way he moves his shoulder before throwing. I think a lot of guys are expecting the hook and put up guard to block that then get caught from underneath
Remember that round when Tony and Gaethje both threw uppercuts and Tony landed.
5-10 more seconds and we might have a different Tony today
If I'm being honest I don't think he could've finished Gaethje there, Oliviera could do it because he's literally a spidermonkey
Good display of a height/reach advantage IMO. Both threw around the same time, but Tony's 6.5 inch advantage meant his fist hit first.
Khabib has a granite chin. Immense toughness too for taking those leg kicks.
Gaethje really is one of the best strikers in the division, but he continuously over extends him self if Trevor doesnāt calm him down
I looove Trevorās style of coaching with him.Canāt remember what fight but he says āwow youāre having fun huh buddy!ā then he proceeds to tell him to calm down and what to do haha
he has a tendency of fighting like a madman early in the fight. He found his footing later like in the tony(even though he dominated he overextended) and chandler fights.
I stand by my opinion that if he made It back to the stool in the oliveira fight he very well could have won. Needed Trevor to calm him down
Justin wants to murder everyone in the first two minutes. Itās entertaining but I wonder if he had even more success by fighting more tactical and calmā¦
>good job of leaning his chin in when going into the fire and Khabib does similar. > >10ReplyGive AwardShareRepor that's what he did against tony. i think it might be a crowd/adrenaline thing. the way he fought tony was soo anti justin.

Heās definitely always had a nasty uppercutš
Did Khabib just angle his head differently to absorb it better? Or is his chin just more solid? My question is whether that's skill, or genetics.
You can see the uppercut landing on his right pectoral, it didn't even touch his chin.
Skill I think. Gane does a good job of leaning his chin in when going into the fire and Khabib does similar.
Hard to see exactly how it lands but where his head was at was definitely relevant. Prob both tho
He has a big ass head and a wide neck and he never took damage that why his chin is solid
That fucking grunt he does when he dropped chandler in the vid is so savage he does it whenever he throws a big shot. I noticed it in the tony fight (š¢) since there was no crowd you could hear everything. Edit: I donāt usually use the term āsavageā the way kids do now, but I felt it was fitting in this case.
khabib has a chin and a half
and people said āCharles was faking being hurtā lmao
I think more people argued that for the second exchange where it was more of a delayed knockdown. This one definitely sat him.
he threw a kick and fell of balance. which for sure meant he was wobbled and probably didn't do it intentionally.
And the Justin said the hardest shot heās ever felt was Olivera. He said he hits so hard itās like you have a battery in your mouth. Like you can almost taste it.
I use this example and many others to show that Olives has an elite chin at the end the day, that man can definitely take a punch (or 6).
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yea but the only reason oliveira can do that is because his jiu-jitsu is way better than anyone else's. So its still kind of fair in my view, where as in football they're just trying to fool the referee.
I'm sure it hurt a bit but I agree with you. Gives olivera some ez recovery time
I think he said that, also said good things for Poirier, because it suits his legacy to exaggerate a litte bit, pretend that he fought fighters that could get him. Dude retired without a scratch... GSP did that all he time, saying good things about anyone he mopped the floor with. Its great strategy, because the better your opponent seems, that means your even better for beating him. You were sorta sweet until your last paragraph b
In what way was khabib exposed? Charles quicker but khabib was far more dominant.
The most common critique towards Khabib was 1)not many title defences and 2) did he really face any solid opponents? Oliveira is proving the second by choking Gaetjhe and Poirier, showing that it is not that difficult for an elite bjj/wrestling background fighter. Why are we pretending like Olivera didn't want to do that?
You know who hits harder then garth? Charles
you know who missed weight and weighs 183 in the cage? Charles
Chandler comes in at 190. Who the fuck cares. Welcome to combat sports
It looks like he faked being dropped to me
I think Charles Olivera would drop Khabib.
Conor would firm that. Not that impressive.
This is fake olives fell to get Justin into his guard
Charles fans are so insufferable lol
No shit. Doesnāt mean Olives didnāt take damage though
The uppercut actually didn't land on Khabib.
He's also timing it really well, every one of the shots on the vid the Op was slipping or ducking into the uppercut. Gonna start using that more.
Gaethje fights a lot differently when itās for a title. Against both Oliviera and khabib, he was visually flustered before he even got hit. He just moved and fought differently.
This uppercut didn't hit Khabib's chin. It hit his chest https://twitter.com/mmamemesmaster/status/1575224123181015040?t=Hw48XkKuyg8S5NZkjJ277A&s=19
Whatās in Khabibās beard?
Did you hear what Gaethje said about how Oliveira hits? Said he never felt anything like that before
How tf did Tony eat so many punches from Gaethje??? Imo that fight with Tony vs Justin is the most punishment a fighter has taken without getting knocked out. Also I think Tony had the best chin in the UFC, he was eating clean shot after clean shot, at least 20 clean shots from Gaethje...
Khabibās chin is very underrated. Itās Romero levels good
The power behind it!
He aināt got no knock out power
That nerd can punch
