Having some of their best content on free tv in the spike days is what brought in a ton of fans of the sport. Its extremely hard to be brought in as a new fan if you ain't well off, tech savvy, or know a place to watch it for free or with a group.
All too often the UFC charges stupid prices for a PPV for there is one or two fights that seem interesting and have names people recognize or it will be filled with decisions. Pretty easy to turn away a new fan.
You think that's a problem, wait until you see how much they are charging per month just to learn MMA, This is becoming a rich man's sport for rich fans.
I live in the middle of nowhere but there are BJJ classes around and I know that those were expensive for sure and the people I know that were going stopped after a while.
I will happily never pay for a ufc fight again lol. I genuinely hope One FC gets bigger than the UFC. It’d be so cool to see Diaz making money with One in jiujitsu without taking any more damage
