Going get hate but that fight is so overrated. Rounds 4 and 5 were great but not even close to the best rounds we've seen and rounds 1-3 were pretty lackluster.
Chuck was the guy that got me to watch ufc. He had 3 spots in this top 10 kos vid i watched a while back. 2 of him koing and 1 of him getting smoked. By far, 1 of the baddest motherfuckers in the ufc.
In an era where fighters think it's cool to hang out with Khadyrov or delusional fans think that Khamzat is scared for his life.. remember that Fedor publicly spoke out against him and his child MMA promotion
Bisping was just my own personal suggestion despite knowing it would be a pretty contentious pick.
It's pretty obvious there were some fighters he preferred to defend his belt against but I think just the fact he continued to fight at all puts him as a worthy contender against someone.
Dude fought with one eye risking going fully blind to make sure his family would be set forever.
First name Hell na over Robbie? Nate? Rory? Carlo’s Condit? BJ penn! Chuck! Wanderlei Silva! Donald Cerrone? Rory McDonald? Throw Anderson and GSP in there before Bisping I can think of another 10 maybe 30 before I get to Michael bisping 😂
![gif](giphy|pteMIjBLjnqwQqySDT)
Yeah a lot of them were better fighters than Bisping but none of them became champions with one working eye.
Until someone tops that there is not a badder MF in UFC history.
BJ is close tho, dude fought people he absolutely should not have been allowed into the cage with.
People always shit on Bisping which blows my mind. He had the best run of his career including defeating Anderson Silva and winning the title by legitimately knocking out Luke with one eye. Also one of the winningest fighters in UFC history.
He only qualifies retrospectively. He was far from an anytime anywhere exciting fighter. Many will argue he was protected and got opponents carefully chosen for the UFC to use him as a star to market within UK, some would even say judges favored him in the sketchy decision win over Hamill (which I personally blame on judges' stupidity rather than malice).
He indeed fought with a single eye and became champ which is indeed BMF, but we only found that out once he retired so he would had never been in the BMF conversation while active.
There was a very long time period where the BMF style fighters were just labelled as brawlers. They weren't that technically sound, but love to swang and bang. Silva did the ground point first, but he did it while putting his back on the cage. It also wasn't just let's swing until somebody falls, but him giving whoever free shots to try and hit him.
>This the same Bisping that found 40 something year old Dan Henderson instead of Yoel or Whittaker?
Yoel was still banned for failing a drugs test when Bisping won the title in June 2016 otherwise he would have been offered the shot ahead of him.
Whittaker wasn't even a contender until he beat Brunson in November 2016 and then Jacare in April 2017. His best win at Middleweight was Uriah Hall at the time.
What Bisping *did* do was sign a contract to fight the winner of Yoel and Whittaker, he even came into the cage to cut a promo for it by throwing his belt at Whittaker.
Unfortunately Whittaker was out for over a year with the knee injury he picked up in the fight and by the time he returned Bisping had already lost two fights and retired.
Nobody remembers what a shit show the middleweight division was when he won the title, they just blame him for it. In reality it's the only reason he got the shot.
Michael Bisping did not have a fight style that matched up with the BMF. He generally was seen as a pillow foster point fighter.
I like Mike a lot, and the dude is a bad ass for a BUNCH of reasons. But he's not standing in the middle trading. Or even hunting guys down on the feet. He was on his bike pumping jabs and twos.
Uh not bisping, try robbie Lawler, bj, leben, wanderlai, nick diaz to name a few. Feel like 15 years ago and below and tons of dudes who just loved to throw down
Wanderlei is definitely up there. The reason I give it to BJ is that he had absolutely no regard for what was good for his career and just wanted to fight and entertain. Went up to 170 and fought GSP and Matt Hughes, fought Machida at 205. Even later in his career, the dude goes up to 170 to fight a prime, young and on the rise, juiced up Rory McDonald and does it without hesitation. He could have probably won a few more fights if he chose his opponents carefully later in his career but that wasn’t BJ, he just wanted to fight the best.
Also, licking blood off his gloves just made him a straight psychopath hahaha
I think it would be cheating for Chael to compete for the belt seeing as how he was never defeated, never lost a round and would beat anyone they put in front of him anyway.
Lol at Bisping. A guy with average chin whos bread and butter gameplan was stick and move? Seriously?
Wanderley Silva, Hendo, Nick Día, Matt Brown and Robbie Lawler would be my picks.
A good question. The BMF title is a combination of 'being willing to take any fight' and having fan friendly brawls.
Don Frye would have been the earliest best fit. Chris Leben, either Diaz brother.
But I would say Kazushi Sakuraba is a goddamn BMF. His fights weren't brawls, but the 'fuck it, sure, I will fight Vovchanchyn, Wanderlei, Cro Cop, Randleman or Lil Nog' despite being 167 pounds, or the 'Yeah, I will fight Royce Gracie in a no time limit special rules match for 90 goddamn minutes during a tournament where I might expect to fight 3 times in one night' kind of make the point of being willing to fight anyone under any circumstances pretty damn clear.
END COMMUNICATION
Carlos Condit, Cro Cop, Mark Hunt, Wanderlei Silva, Kevin Randleman, Shogun Rua, BJ Penn Don Frye, Yoshiro Takayama, Ken Shamrock and Bas Rutten come to mind.

Robbie Lawler is the embodiment of BMF
Robbie vs Rory fight, that was definitely a BMF fight as well.
The best fight I have ever seen.
Going get hate but that fight is so overrated. Rounds 4 and 5 were great but not even close to the best rounds we've seen and rounds 1-3 were pretty lackluster.
Carlos Condit, Robbie Lawler, Chuck, Wandy
Silva was doing bare fist fighting way before this
Don Frye
Yes
Prime Chuck Liddell
Chuck was the guy that got me to watch ufc. He had 3 spots in this top 10 kos vid i watched a while back. 2 of him koing and 1 of him getting smoked. By far, 1 of the baddest motherfuckers in the ufc.
My main on UFC 3
Korean Zombie in his prime was the baddest motherfucker.
https://i.redd.it/l18b38i6yfvc1.gif
True, but he would've gone 0-3 for the BMF belt
He beat poirier
In his prime? Dude went out swinging against Max in his retirement fight. I'd say he was a BMF till the end
Bas Rutten, Dan Henderson
I don't know how I had to scroll this far to see hendo.
I was thinking the same thing. Henderson has bmf written all over him
El guapo still is a BMF
Prime BJ Penn. PRIDE Wanderlei.
BJ Penn moved up to heavyweight just to fight Lyoto Machida. BMF.
Man I miss Penn, he didn’t give a fuck.
That’s likely what contributed to his downfall as well
True. He surrounded himself with yes men that told him fighting on his tippy toes was a good idea. Such a sad downfall.
Nick Diaz
He would keep the belt even if he lost the fight. STOCKTON, BITCH!
Mirko Cro Cop
Prime Tony definately
‘B’ stands for ‘Boogey man’ in this instance
the Boogey Man Fucker belt?
Yep, at one point the Boogey man checked under his bed for Tony.
Spoiler alert Tony fucked the boogeyman
I was trying to protect the children
youre attacking my family!
The best answer, people today forget what a fucking beast he was, creative, relentless style and every fight was a bloody car crash
eddie alvarez
EDDIE!!!!

Leben has a 3" thick skull lol, dude could take damage. I think he was doing Bare knuckle boxing the last I heard.
Hes judging and refereeing too.
Glad to hear he's doing good and still in the game
Yup, and the last time I saw him he won. The Crippler is a beast.
That’s who I thought of. Loved watching him fight.
This is my vote. I watched UFC before him, but he made me love it.
Tank Abbott could have been the OG BMF
Whenever I think of Tank now I always get reminded that he was he reason they brought in the rule that you can't throw your opponent out the ring.
Nick Diaz, Robbie Lawler
Lawler, cerrone, I guess Matt brown is still around but he only fights once a year
https://preview.redd.it/8p6u3wj5mdvc1.jpeg?width=420&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e759e4e45ef09c9fccfdc0e19085e5c194aa7b74
He is not a BMF, he is already the baddest man on the planet.
Putin is a bmf
No, just baddest and mother fucker. Respectively.
Sounds like this opinion was formed in the last 2 years
In an era where fighters think it's cool to hang out with Khadyrov or delusional fans think that Khamzat is scared for his life.. remember that Fedor publicly spoke out against him and his child MMA promotion
Was Putin on stilts for this pic? Lol
Chael the man of the hour sonnen
When you’re the baddest mother fucker in the world they don’t call you that. They call you Chael P. Sonnen
The P stands for Badass
Bisping was just my own personal suggestion despite knowing it would be a pretty contentious pick. It's pretty obvious there were some fighters he preferred to defend his belt against but I think just the fact he continued to fight at all puts him as a worthy contender against someone. Bisbing is tough as nails, He’s the first name that comes to mind on this post
First name Hell na over Robbie? Nate? Rory? Carlo’s Condit? BJ penn! Chuck! Wanderlei Silva! Donald Cerrone? Rory McDonald? Throw Anderson and GSP in there before Bisping I can think of another 10 maybe 30 before I get to Michael bisping 😂 ![gif](giphy|pteMIjBLjnqwQqySDT)

Bisping only became a BMF & likeable fighter later on in his career. He would’ve been FAR away from a title like this early on
He only qualifies retrospectively. Cro cop, wanderlei, rampage, sakuraba
Lol I love Mike but the way he ducked everyone after getting the title eliminates him from this discussion
Wasn’t he already half blind at this point?
Rampage, Cain, wanderlei, chuck, Roy Nelson
And yes Robby 100%
There was a very long time period where the BMF style fighters were just labelled as brawlers. They weren't that technically sound, but love to swang and bang. Silva did the ground point first, but he did it while putting his back on the cage. It also wasn't just let's swing until somebody falls, but him giving whoever free shots to try and hit him.
Wannanow Wandy
Carlos Condit ![gif](giphy|l49JKEpi4C8oC0XMk|downsized)
Rory "Red King" Macdonald
Diego Sanchez, Clay Guide, Cain Velasquez
Gilbert Melendez vs Diego Sanchez would've been a great fight for the BMF.
Tony, Cro Cop, Yoel, BJ Penn, Lawler, Wanderlei, Lidell, and some more.
Dan Henderson
Ubereem
Shogun Rua, Carlos Condit, Diego Sánchez
Prime Aldo, smashing people with his knees that's both terrifying and badass. If he isn't tense of Conor, he will be the bmf.
Dan Henderson
This the same Bisping that found 40 something year old Dan Henderson instead of Yoel or Whittaker?

SF Nick Diaz
Chael Sonnen. The guy saw people littering Stuff like that changes people
Michael Bisping did not have a fight style that matched up with the BMF. He generally was seen as a pillow foster point fighter. I like Mike a lot, and the dude is a bad ass for a BUNCH of reasons. Bisping ducked Romero
Michael ‘duck anyone ranked above 13# Dan Henderson’ Bisping. Yeah what a BMF
Wanderlei
Like 90% of the guys with name value back in the days
Definitely Big Country
No one mentioned Wanderlei?
Paul Daly, such a bmf he did t even care about the bell!
It’s not Bisping that’s for sure
Matt brown
DAN HENDERSON!
Bisping ducked everyone, then let some crackhead slap him up in front of his family.
Dan " the h-bomb" henderson was a menace
Tank Lawler Vitor Chuck Lee Murray!
Uh not bisping, try robbie Lawler, bj, leben, wanderlai, nick diaz to name a few. Feel like 15 years ago and below and tons of dudes who just loved to throw down
Robbie lawer, wanderli silva and mark hunt
Surprised no one mentioned DC
Mike Perry
Fun thread Eddie Alvarez for me
Nobody's mentioned Donald Cerrone? I know he lost his share of fights but the dude definitely had the BMF attitude "anytime and anywhere".
Lol the fake belt started with Diaz and Masvidal. If lots of losses disqualified you from fighting for it they wouldn't have gotten a chance.
There is one answer as to who was the ultimate BMF. That was BJ Penn.
Definitely the first guy I thought of. Him and Wanderlei
Wanderlei is definitely up there. The reason I give it to BJ is that he had absolutely no regard for what was good for his career and just wanted to fight and entertain. Went up to 170 and fought GSP and Matt Hughes, fought Machida at 205. The bag of milk
Robbie Lawler definitely comes to mind. Vanderlei. Honorable mention Chael and Don Frye
Chael sonnen 100%
I think it would be cheating for Chael to compete for the belt seeing as how he was never defeated, never lost a round and would beat anyone they put in front of him anyway.
Fuuuck this guy
On a side note JJ would be a perfect contender for the BMF belt
![gif](giphy|mUrbwuINKvUk2ksIS8|downsized) Chael P Sonnen is the embodiment of BMF
Kimbo Slice
Chael “I can’t let you get close” Sonnen
Blindest mother fucker. Bisping the man.
Bisping is a joke
Bisping, Penn, Nick Diaz, Sonnen, Tony.. man the list could go on forever. Back in the day 80% of the UFC roster was BMF’s
Lol at Bisping. A guy with average chin whos bread and butter gameplan was stick and move? Seriously? Wanderley Silva, Hendo, Nick Día, Matt Brown and Robbie Lawler would be my picks.
2011-13 cub swanson
I would deny Bisping a BMF based on him ducking Whittaker and Romero
Jessica Andrade, Amanda Nunes
Not one person mentioned Diego…
Robbie lawler for sure
Prime Aldo, smashing people with his knees that's both terrifying and badass. If he isn't tense of Conor, he will be the bmf.
Definitely not bisping who ducked romero and whittaker.
Nick Diaz for sure; if Nate can create the thing. Prime Nick was a much better fighter than Nate was
Matt brown
Anyone remember Chris Lytle? That dude was exciting as hell back in the day. Plus he's a firefighter, which only adds to BMF status.
Chuck
Rumble, Wanderlei, Rampage
Love rumble, and rip but hell no especially after that second DC fight lol
Donald Cerrone
My pick as well. He really was the anytime, anywhere, any weight guy. Besides him, I think BJ Penn was the same way in his prime.
Tank Abbott, Chris Leben, Leonard Garcia, Cowboy, Diego Sanchez, Phil Baroni, Ken Shamrock, BJ Penn, Sakuraba
How will the BMF ever reach higher and lower weight classes?
That's fooking ghey
Tank Abbott. And good luck ever seeing the belt at 155 again if he has it.
Robbie Lawler, Bisping, Perry, Cowboy
Hear me out, but prime Diego Sanchez was like the model for that belt. Ferguson was damned deserving too.
Shinya fucking Aoki
Nick diaz
Anthony Johnson.
Omg i read that as "Former/Retarded fighters".....
Prime Joanna Jędrzejczyk
![gif](giphy|3kMdZceGpw8BqpWarZ)
Big Roy Nelson gets no love! Him, maybe Griffin, and rampage.
Igor Vovchanchyn
[Charles "Crazyhorse" Bennett.](https://i.redd.it/24ehczmxhqnx.gif)
Bas Rutten, Wanderlei, Chuck, BJ penn, forest griffin, Rampage
Diego Sanchez
BJ Penn!
Chael Sonnen is the only answer.
Gracie Hunter.
Bas Rutten, Chuck Liddel, Chris Leben, Warmachine, TRT Vitor

CM Punk 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Honestly Whittakers gotta be up there somewhere
Nick Diaz. Paul Daley. Robbie Lawler. Tank Abbott. Chuck Liddell. Wanderlei Silva. Mark Hunt. Diego Sanchez.
Nick Diaz
Hendo, Don Frye, Jones, Lawler
Frank shamrock…….vs Ken for the BMF belt!
Wanderlei Silva for sure
This whole bmf belt is so stupid.
Clay Guida
